Man...I don't know where I'd be if I didn't find your channel...I was a 9-5 contractor, since your influence, I've been in LA living through my work! Thanks Proko Crew! I send everyone here!
This one of the...if not the best video I have ever watched on TH-cam, period. Wow! You are the best teacher in the world. One that every child will run to again and again. As some who trained as an artist (studied Fine and Applied arts in University) and has gone from advertising to marketing communications and now a brand strategist, I can confidently say that this is the kind of content that can take anyone from zero-to-hero. Please I want more of the type of content. Cheers.
My daughter just stared art lesson in school and she is so excited about it so I am going to show her this video and enrol her in your course right away.
As always your great, you're the reason I started drawing thanks a lot. It's really hard to find the relationship between the darkest and the brightest part, Which is halftone
i feel the need to say, that around the 1:45 mark, the values scale is misleading, particularly when put next to the chroma scale. in the middle, downwards, the values stop increasing, and only decrease in chroma.
Sorry if you felt confused at that part! Each of those charts shown is one aspect of color that you can modify for your desired result, changing one or more aspect at a time as needed.

Some languages do use terms like that! We agree that "value" can seem weird because it's a word we use for other concepts as well and that's majority of the issue. "Chroma" and "hue" are no better descriptive words on their own but they don't overlap with any other concepts so they sound fine. Using "lightness/darkness" could lead to giving qualities to objects that they don't have. One day we'll find or invent the perfect separate term for it! lol

Proko grew a fuller beard just to teach us about local value. Now that’s dedication to your craft!
Yes. THAT'S why I did it. Not because shaving is annoying and I forget to do it lol
@@ProkoTV Start wet shaving ( just google how to wet shave) and you will love it.!
I typically just use a quick electric razor on it and even that can be too much effort sometimes lol
love how i finish a drawing trying to understand shading and proko just magically drops a value video thinking "let's save this guy"
We heard you needed us!
I love how you guys teach people how to draw complicated drawings in a simple way
I finally understand the value of value

Thank you! Great subject matter here!! 🫶🏻
Thank you once again proko!
I like to think of chroma as how intense the color is, and value on how dark it is!
Idk if its a good way of thinking though
Works for me!
Your lightest dark most be darker than your darkest light -Proko's famous qoute.
Finally!! I needed this. My drawings look so flat😅. Thank you Proko

Keep em coming Stan… 😊
I hope one day I can see Stan teaches color😁
Love it
❤
let's go!
Funny note: You know you are a programmer when Stan talks about the 10 steps of value - and you cringe slightly when he shows a grid from 0 - 10.

That name is stupid and should be replaced by luminosity or just brightness.
