I was fckg emotional throughout the entire episode bc of Sherlock. He was so desperate about the possibility of Joan going to jail that he forgot all of his self-control. You could hear it in his voice. You could read it in his eyes. His face was an open book on this episode. He was devastated. Halfway through the episode I knew he was gonna do that. He loves Joan too much to let anything bad happen to her and it breaks my heart. A few weeks ago I was on instagram seeing some stuff when I came across a 'meme' comparing all existent Sherlock series (probably made by a BBC Sherlock fan [series which i love as well]). They basically said that Elementary was the worst Sherlock series. I was mad. Sherlock has grown up so much on six years. He's not afraid anymore to tell Joan that he'd do anything for her. Miller's Sherlock became someone i'm really proud of. How can they say he's the worst Sherlock? Jonny Lee Miller is such a great actor. This scene is so powerful. He said what we've known for 6 years. They are more than partners. They're not friends or even lovers. They have a love that goes beyond that. My favorite season finale for sure. Sorry for any mistakes. Anyone else cursed the writers after the scene in London? Anyway, i'm so excited for season 7. They're at Baker Street!!! FINALLY!
This was a wonderfully powerful scene. These two people are each other's best friend and the greatest partnership of all time like all the other Holmes and Watsons'. Very original because I don't think there's ever been another show to have a man confess love to a woman and it not be romantic at all. Its what makes Elementary refreshing.
I bailed my eyes out watching this scence, I really thought they were going to end it this way. If they did I would’ve been so mad & dissapointed. I love this series so much.
They killed captain Greyson's character that was built over 6 seasons in just one episode. Shouldn't have made him an accessory. Gregson's character was that of someone who wouldn't bend the law not for anyone not even for his own daughte. He was straight as an arrow.
2 Months late but I think that was the point. Everyone in this show has bent a bit, Sherlock almost killed M and relapsed, Joan told that other cop girl "race you to the bottom", Bell refused Sherlock's apology at first and he as bent the law like in the Maple Syrup episode where he went into a building because Sherlock obviously lied and said he heard someone breaking stuff. Everyone has had there point to bend or break, except Gregson's. Well we finally found that point, and it wasn't some slight bending like Bell or Sherlock's self-destruction, it's for his kid and he may never forgive himself.
Something I have always appreciated about this take on Sherlock Holmes, is how open he is when his feelings, when it comes to people he cares about. As early as season 1 Sherlock was openly professing how much Watson meant to him and how she had a positive impact on his life. Also, while this comparison may seem off (esp if you're not familiar with anime) but Sherlock taking the fall and Watson following him to another country reminds me of when Yourichi, a Princess and respected Captain and Commander, gave up everything to follow Urahara, a disgraced (and framed) Captain and Commander, into the Human World, all on the strength of their friendship and history together.
It's there, it's just a little quiet b/c youtube always reduces the volume when I upload for some reason. People usually hear it if they turn it up though!

I think if the situation was different then Gregson wouldn’t have done what he did.
