@Mark Cancer I'm gonna tell you right now, an insult that you tell EVERYBODY just feels watered down to the point where it isn't offensive at all anymore. Try harder next time you want to troll people.
I personally think that his dialogue, and character are done perfectly. His accent, his powers are cool, everything about this character is cool. His cut scenes show how perfect his messed up sense of art is. Buuut, not everything is perfect in every way. His boss fight was such a let down, he can teleport and throw knives, that should've been the main use of his attacks. And his tentacles should've been coming at you more often, felt like you were fighting a wimp dressed up in a batman costume for his boss fight. Still his music and all around character design is perfect. I'd give him as a villain a 8/10. Mainly because he reminds me of somebody like the joker, he knows that what he's doing is wrong, and nobody thinks it's okay. But that is what he wants... chaos.
@@Snowbound2643 that's right. I see so many people disappointed with the boss fight, but I thought it was pretty good. Maybe those people played in a lower difficulty, so it became trivial. I did my research before playing TEW2 and learned Nightmare was the only acceptable difficulty to be challenged in a first playthrough. As a result, Stefano was a really tense boss and I really enjoyed it
Stefano is a weakling though, he sends his minions and runs away from Sebastian the entire first couple of acts of the game. I still love his character but I don't know why people understand that.
No, I don't think he wants chaos, I think he wants to do what he wants without any interruptions. All he wants to do is to make his work in peace. As he says, everyone is trying to stop him, or change him into what he is not.
Yea, I was thinking of Tsukiyama the whole time. Guys, do you know game named League of Legends? There's a character named Jhin and when I read little of his lore... Totally reminds me of Stefano
Please tell me I'm not the only one who freaked out for having recognized the intro to the first movement of Serenade For Strings by Tchaikovsky... like seriously it suits this guys persona so well
Agreed lol. He's very Mads Mikkelsen's "Hannibal"-esque in his metrosexual style of dress and the not-a-hair-out-of-place presentation, accompanying his aloof and astute demeanor.A Classical number definitely embodies Stefano's persona as a whole.
Bioshock has a similar character who also looks like Salvador Dali. The most interesting thing is that in both games, Tchaikovsky plays in the background in scenes with characters
Stefano is a pretty cliche villain like Ruvik. I'm a big fan of the Evil Within but heck, that's the flaw of the two games. They could've made better villains.
I feel like the idea of a serial killer obsessed with art, and with a supernatural twist that makes him more threatening, could carry an entire game by itself. Instead it just kinda feels like a subplot here. And I really like the first part of the fight, where you're in a gallery of body pictures while classical music plays. It kinda loses something once it switches to the big scary eye thing and the classical is replaced by Generic Horror. Like, Zero Punctuation brought this up in the first game... The Evil Within never feels like a cohesive story, just a bunch of horror set pieces thrown together.
I think that's the intended effect;it's a collective of corrupted minds,so essentially it /is/ a bunch of horrific set pieces pieced together. The "open-one-door-end-up-in-another-dimension" kind of effect.
next time it's my time of the month I'm gonna be this edgy and overdramatic. "Picasso had his 'Blue Period'..... I HAVE ENTERED MY 'CRIMSON PERIOD'" *followed by my explosive crimson period*
Ahh... I have so much left to create... You've destroyed my legacy... Look at me. You made me into a masterpiece... Must record it... If only I had my camera... Where did it go? Still time... For one last photo! **BANG** ( Saddest day of my life. *:(* )
Its so hard to decide which boss in this game was strongest, Theodore was a master illusionist and Manipulator that could actually kill you with the illusions, Stefano who has superhuman speed and put you in a time freeze with his camera and summon a huge monster that can easily kill you with one swipe and stefano is a good knife thrower, or sebastians wife who can turn to a giant monster and can summon monsters and super strength and has some ice like powers, probably myra, then stefano then Theodore
Are you kidding me?!! What's so appealing about an obnoxious, wannabe edge-lord with an aggrandized gore fetish? Stefano was annoying to fight and even worse to listen to. I'm glad he's dead. Fuck him and his stupid hair too.
Right? It was pretty cool. Maybe I would have done this scene differently, with the explosives set in different places and body parts, so as to create a chaotic masterpiece: blood spraying in different directions, body parts floating still. And despite the scene not having a discernible interpretation, he would call it something really unexpected, further demonstrating how sick he is (like the habit we have about naming constellations and associate them with something we know in real life)
"You're beginning to annoy and bore me" In other words "You have become a powerful threat and I can no longer contain you". Oh Stefano you bit more than you could chew!
1:02 Oh damn! This is completey unrelated to the boss fight, but it's the first time I hear 'Van Gogh' pronounced pretty much correctly. The first G is still a little harsh, but he nailed the second G, unlike most people that would pronounce it like 'van Go' or something like that.
1:05 Sebastian interrupting Stefano's villainy speech has the same vibe as Kyle Crane telling Rais to shut up in Dying Light and Leon Kennedy saying You talk too much and proceeding to shoot Salazar mid speech in Re4 Remake.
Bioshock has a similar character who also looks like Salvador Dali. The most interesting thing is that in both games, Tchaikovsky plays in the background in scenes with characters
I was actually incredibly sad when Stefano died. He was so awesome and it was so fun to pursue him. He definitely should have been in the game longer. They literally could've taken out Theodore's character completely and it would've been even better LOL
I'm not the biggest fan of this fight. Stefano losing his magical bullet dodging for the actual combat kinda ruins how threatening he was up until that point. I think they could've found a more creative way to allow the player to damage him. And the setting of the fight feels way too grand for what's actually happening.
Not going to lie I was kind of bored after this boss fight was over because the rest of bosses felt lackluster and uninteresting. Stefano was so amazing. Father Theodore was boring as hell and Myra was kind of a ridiculous final boss. Stefano was the only character I was rooting for because he was interesting and mysterious. Great character. The only good and creepy moment they brought in the second half was getting the old bosses back from the first game.

it would've been awesome if you can actually take Stefano's camera and use it as a weapon in the game

I mean it'd be great as a NG+ weapon but getting it during NG? Nah too OP.
It would freeze enemies in place for a few seconds.
@Mark Cancer I'm gonna tell you right now, an insult that you tell EVERYBODY just feels watered down to the point where it isn't offensive at all anymore. Try harder next time you want to troll people.
Lmao it's like the camera from Cry of Fear, but Simon's camera freezes enemies forever

Awesome comment 10/10
I love when serenade for strings start playing just before fighting stefano, its just so epic!
Beautiful, and in the case of what and who we're dealing with, Haunting
He totally reminds me of Tsukiyama from Tokyo Ghoul. Its the suit and hair.
Exactly. The gourmet ghoul. Their personalities seem similar too.
Stefano the video game twin of Shu Tsukiyama
It is the whole idea of taking bits of refined French culture and applying it to twisted things. Also the suit and hair adds to it as well.

Stefano is cute.
Kudos to the developers of this game, trailers showed us that stefano is the main antagonist. But he's not.
He should have been the main antagonist
It's sort of like what RE did to Lady Dimitrescu. A lot of us thought she'll be the main antagonist, but like Stefano, she died too early Q_Q
