The only ppl who say Saitama beats Rimuru is the ones who have not read the manga or have low reading comprehension. Spoilers for the OPM manga: As evidenced by the fight between Garou and Saitama. Saitama has exponential growth. The highest you can scale him is multi-galaxy+, and that's the absolute high ball. Multi-solar system+ is the lowball for him, any lower and you're just downplaying him. Generally most ppl I've interacted with seem to agree that he's galaxy level.
Fun fact: Hisoka has same VA as Damrada from Tensura. So yeah in the alternate universe, Hisoka would get taste of humiliation from Rimuru's Subordinate who currently fought him

To be fair, in the manga he did exactly that, hurting the army and crippling soldiers instead of killing them. Until of course he felt like he made his point.
I always get irritated whenever people say Rimuru used the souls of the soldiers to resurrect his people, when that is NOT true. Rimuru did NOT use the souls he ATE from the soldiers he killed. He was simply testing out a new skill he had acquired during his massacre of the army. He never planned to steal those souls, as he didn't need to. The souls of his fallen people were kept inside the barrier that was put up by the Falmouth kingdom, and was later swapped out by one of his own barriers made my Shuna and Myulan Icon. The whole intention for that was to keep the SOULS of his fallen people, INSIDE so he could later (or Raphael) use beelzebub to suck up all magicules, including the souls, and resurrect his people. The whole reason he became a Demon Lord was to increase his chances of success. Milim (the one who 'invented' resurrection) had her pet dragon murdered. But because her pet dragon (Gaia), was not incased in a barrier of sorts, their soul had drifted away. So when Milim resurrected them after massacring those who killed Gaia and evolving into a true demon lord, they were a soulless being, who had no 'heart', and so Milim had to kill them. BTW, this isn't to hate on you or anyone, I am just simply spreading information, it is your choice to believe me or not. You can rewatch the episode if you would like to even double check if I am correct, and call me out on it.
If I remember correctly he did need those souls. He used 10 000 souls to evolve into a demon lord and then he used the remaining souls as an offering to summon a demon (which obviously turned out to be Diablo).
