I worked as an engineer in a cereal factory, I literally could not believe the size of the contra rotating rollers that crush the corn. Ours weighed almost two tonnes and were almost four feet in diameter. Also the gap is extremely precisely modulated. Any deviation from optimum resulted in product flow issues.
Yeah I thought they just grind them into paste and chop them up before cooking but this way is so simple. I had no idea how easy my corn flakes had it and no wonder they're so cheap and plentiful.
Hey, I know that brand of cereal! Usually when I watch these they either don't show the specific brand or it's one I've never heard of, but my parents eat that cereal. Cool.
Don Cheeto obviously....just saying....cereal pictures are always misleading. I don’t eat these kinds of cereals now since I moved over to keto....but the granola-like cereals I do eat now are even more ridiculous, saying 1/3rd a cup is a serving 😂. Luckily it’s only a single gram of net carbs per serving...so I just pack on 3-4 “servings” to make a meal.
@@twdjt6245 studying dietitian here! Keto defff isn’t the best diet, (but I’m not here to lecture). Just be sure to get your cholesterol levels checked more often and your blood sugar as well. Glucagon stores may release too much stored sugar to try and overcompensate for the sugar not being consumed so it’s just a good idea to make sure your levels are normal. My mom actually had to stop keto bc it raised her sugar to prediabetic levels. (Most people don’t even think about it bc no/low sugar seems like a good thing in theory, but your body needs glucose) for cholesterol, higher meat consumption, which is generally considered part of keto, can raise that as well so it’s always good to be aware of your levels :)
I wonder what they make other types out of, not the classic flakes. That thing looks insane btw 4:10 And the boxes sliding on the conveyor belt at the end is satisfying.
I remember when kellogs frosted flakes were quite good. I don't often eat cereal but I just had a bowl tonight that tasted like cardboard. Any one else noticing that or is it just me? Are they still made in the US?
Thankyou discovery UK for this manufacturing video of cereal under cereals I use true elements multigrain flakes every day in my diet which is really healthy.
I got a bad batch of Kellogg’s cornflakes recently, it was like eating glass. Also, I find black flakes every so often which means the flake caught some grease or dirt from the machines.
Before I go to bed, it’s important I know how frosted cereal is made.
it should be Diabetes | How it's Made 3:30 they forgot to mention the fake vitamins they have
@@theantiveganchannel3596 bro stfu who tf asked
Indeed. It's very valuable information for my plans to end cereal production.
Part of my daily professional development
I was worried about how this was made and couldn't sleep. I'm so glad this was posted for me. 😇

Fascinating!
pretty inneresing
So as someone seeing the machines, would you say cereal has metal shavings in it? Or would that be certain cereals only? Or completely false?
Bro said “ tonnes “
Bro replied to a year old comment.@@pinacoladatv808
I like how you guys show people how it is made
✋🏻
you made me laugh :)
You baked, bro?
Never in my life would I have thought they just smash the corn to make a flake
Yeah I thought they just grind them into paste and chop them up before cooking but this way is so simple. I had no idea how easy my corn flakes had it and no wonder they're so cheap and plentiful.
Finally people who understand
@@M7S4I5L8V2A Unfortunately, they're not cheap at my place smh smh
@@heleecopter do they have any dollar stores were you're at? They probably won't be as good a quality but they'll be cheaper, that's for sure.
@@M7S4I5L8V2A I wish my organic corn/frosted flakes were "cheap and plentiful"...haha! :)

Interesting... very interesting. Thank you for this information. This will be useful in my plans to end cereal production.
lmao
This whole time I had no clue corn flakes are made simply from smashing corn flat. That's incredible.

Lmao, don't even lie like you don't fill up to the top instead of only doing a 3/4 cup serving.

Well how are the granola clusters made then? And how do you get granola flavor in spray form?
I think it's best if I don't know how I'm made. I don't think I'm ready for this, but here I am.
Never forget the first time I watched this so informative
I remember when kellogs frosted flakes were quite good. I don't often eat cereal but I just had a bowl tonight that tasted like cardboard. Any one else noticing that or is it just me? Are they still made in the US?

We need to flip them off.
Watching this as I'm eating a bowl of frosted flakes 😎
Greetings, fellow Legates!
Me watching this as I'm eating corn flakes. It made me wonder how they're made while I eat. Intriguing.
Not me watching this & eating a good cereal bowl of Frosted Flakes…grrrreat!
cereal is not common in our country.. the last time I had cereal was probably a few months ago... I wish we had money to buy cereal and milk lol
it's getting more expensive
where are you from?
Made a bowl of Frosted Flakes before bed and wondered how they were made and now I’m here
First thing in the morning, while I eat my frosted flakes, I must know how they're made.
I want this cereal, let's get it in the US
*smashes corn kernel* “And this is what we call a corn flake.”
I hate to think of my kernel of Koran behind smashed

Eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes watching this.
I LOVE CEREAL
TIL corn flakes are made from flattened corn. I thought it's mashed corn, then molded into flakes, lol.
0:28 I think my humor is broken but when they spilled a drop of milk on the pile of cereal on the table I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
I was eating a bowl as I watched epic experience also high 🙏🏾🧿

Who else is binging How it’s made videos?
As i ate cereal it was important to know how it was made
Thanks for making this so I can show my toddler that this is no longer food, once it’s been processed this much. I really appreciate it!
Kook
They literally just boil it and smash it that’s it…
The true capabilities of mankind. 👌
I got a bad batch of Kellogg’s cornflakes recently, it was like eating glass. Also, I find black flakes every so often which means the flake caught some grease or dirt from the machines.
That's a burnt flake. It's not grease nor dirt
🤣Watching this while eating frosted flakes rn 🤣
Now I know
the amount of processing wow. this is diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease all in one

Marvellous
Before i go to sleep i need to know how its made
When do they add the honey? Or should I do it on my own?
My attention may have wavered about halfway through but I'll still be buying cornflakes
