Music that wipe away tears from a region destroyed with war.Music that offered hope and strength of a better tomorrow.Music that restored hope and dreams of future. From the ashes of war they became pillars that Nigeria stands.Music that offers inspirations and lifted weak souls, putting smiles into millions of sad faces.

Our very own. Nigerians have talents since way back. As a young lad during the era of these classics, it leaves deep memories down my spine. These music need to be remastered for commercial distribution for these poor talents to enjoy the fruit of their labour.

Indeed it was a sweet breeze that swept across the landscape of Igbo land in the late 70s and its environs that was famished by a fratricidal war. Like a phoenix that rose from the ashes, the Igbos became a formidable force to be reckoned again in all ramifications of existence in Nigeria and in the diaspora. God blessed the Igbo race beyond measures. That's why they are always oppressed everywhere they reside all over the world including their own motherland. But the more they are oppressed, the more they arise and succeed in all they put their hands to do.

guys made excellent use of sadness to keep people happy, the dance halls
rocking and life moving on sweetly...ELITISM KILLED ONE WORLD
(nicknamed Otu Uwa in the East)...just like in music, all time, by the
time they seem to have picked up their groove again, the market had

Sweet Breeze became the answer to a dwindling One World, running from
their form in Victory album to a very elitist funk fusion in two failed
albums...the album Mama and Papa (their last) gave them back some
respect, but after that album they went and went and went, until Sweet
Breeze bounced on with Across The Desert Album....these were all
graduates from high institutions....they made a bold break from the
Porthacourt and Aba Eastern music heartbeat to Enugu...they became
instant hits with songs written by that Whizkid from Zikston and UNN,
Vin Ikeotuonye and bellied out by Dallas Anyanwu of IMT Enugu...these
guys made excellent use of sadness to keep people happy, the dance halls
rocking and life moving on sweetly...ELITISM KILLED ONE WORLD
(nicknamed Otu Uwa in the East)...just like in music, all time, by the
time they seem to have picked up their groove again, the market had
moved...more so they were playing what others had started playing better
both local and international...they were also nicknamed COAT OF MANY
COLORS derogatorily...I guess they struggled with little patronage from
their diehard fans until everybody to thy tent O Israel....great
musicians of a time no doubt...the Sweet Breeze were smarter...they
sampled between Across The Desert form and that of Song Of Sweet Breeze
(which was 50% Across The Desert form and the outgoing Eastern groove
form typified by The Apostles, Wings and confused Original and Super
Wings, Founders 15, Strangers, One World, another another elitist
musical group The FUNKEES...more like Charlyboy-like
personalities...then not forgetting Semi-Colon of Chichi loving
fame...many to remember indeed, the list is endless...Stoneface
    Iwuagwu...he created these Monsters...
bert smith...Fire In The Jar was a huge upgrade at that time...their
music has become more stable...meaning using technology....compare this
album with others, you will notice tech is playing a good role as the
music is more stable and easier to listen to and enjoy...Sweet Breeze
seem to want people back into blanked-out happiness and it seemed to
have worked...Song Of Sweet Breeze was experimental but made sure it
kept it's Sweet Breeze fans well taken care of...YOU want to listen and
enjoy Sweet Breeze just listen 1st to "Across The Dessert" (Full album,
non stop), then "Advice" Full album, non stop) bet you!...You are in
love for life with The Sweet Breeze...all others are jara and
experiments...by the time you listen to the opening of Going Home album,
you will indeed agree Sweet Breeze was really going home...everything
Sweet Breeze had gone apart from that their "famed" clap in Across The
Desert....it had nothing to do with Sweet Breeze, maybe, just maybe when
Esbee Family debuted we were not surprised...after Advice album Sweet Breeze completely died...Going Home album was like an infantile joke...nothing to do with the Sweet Breeze we love...

You really captured the spirit behind the group - Vin Ikeotuonye & team. They really took us to that Africanised funkified cum disco classics.
Thanks a million times for your write-up.
