Went to a few videos to compare these 2 mics and honestly your video is the best. The comments also help me make a decision! Thank you :)

Which one you think would suit me better
My voice is little thin and not very loud ?
    If that makes sense 😂

As the X Sounds a bit rhicker, I‘d recommend this one. Or a real SM7 B.

thanks a lot that was what i was looking for! I needed a second shure mv7 mic for a podcast and liked the price of the X. will connect them via xlr to the rodecaster. so i will go for the X. thanks again!

Good choice, they both sound awesome and the difference isn´t that big with 2 different hosts/voices. Maybe you'll use the X for the female or thinner voice and the 7 for male . . .

PS I installed the poppfilter of the older smb7. It is longer and has thicker walls - thus eliminating plosives much better - a huge sound difference much closer to the smb7

Thank you for your comment and you´re welcome to watch a free review . . . of course you´re right. This is just a test of the 2 XLR outputs - bacause, that´s what the two product have in common. You´ll be abel to find a ton of reviews regading XLR vs. USB of the MV7 on other channels. have a nice day!

Thank you. That was what i'm searching. I bought MV7 previous week and heard about MV7x only a couple hours ago :) totally surprised with the price & performance of MV7x. Maybe i can buy MV7x as my second mic for guests in my podcasting projects. But in this scenario I'll need an interface. Btw, which model do you use to mount on ?

    • @hartguitar

Thank you 🙏🏻 my mount is the rode psa-1

btw for anyone wondering what a good cheap audio interface for the mv7x, my top two would be the wave xlr and goXLR mini, im going for the wave xlr as its newer, a lil bit cheaper and will power my dt 990 pro over exceedingly that im wondering to buy later on.

The new Universal Audio USB Interfaces seem to be very good

MV7X is way too low mid heavy. You will be filtering out a lot of 150hz-300hz frequencies. The MV7 sounds mix ready out of the box.

    • @hartguitar

Thank you - do mean for speech, female/male vocals, rock, ballad . . . or just everything?

    • @matthewray5343

@@hartguitar good question. I'd say for male vocals. Be it spoken word, rock, rap or anything that is in the context of a busy mix and even just a podcast setting. I can see it (MV7X) being more flattering on a child or female vocals, something that needs that extra body but for most adult male voices, you are gonna filter out most of that low end in the end product.
