    I am bummed out because now he will not be calling games or doing analysis on the game, which was amazing! I wish him well but think he would have been happier and more successful doing his media thing instead of being called out for every loss that will happen this year!

    This same network said the Lakers could beat anyone in the west other than Denver. Said they should face OKC instead of Denver for that reason. And Lakers made it to the Conference finals the season prior. But “this is a play-in caliber team.” Smh #Haters

    I never watched JJ play basketball, he never popped up on my radar… but for those who have, did he play at the “highest level” and did he display “high basketball IQ” cause really that is all I hear about JJ. They say that he has a “brilliant basketball mind” and that he has played at a “high level.”

    Stop the cap 🧢 fellas. Lakers shot 37.2 percent tied for 8th best in the NBA with the Pacers who went to the conference finals. Dallas shot 36.8 which ranked them 14th and they went to the finals. The Lakers real problem is Russell, Reaves and defense. Fix those problems and you’re good

    Only 3 teams that I believe that can legitimately beat the Lakers in a 7 game series: Kings, Wolves and Nuggets. OKC doesn’t scare me because they’re too young and peaked too early. We know how bad the Clippers are in the playoffs. LA can match up well against the Mavs. Phoenix is a disaster as well.

    The issue is JJ Redick is under the assumption he signed up to be a basketball coach, similar to those he played under, but the Lakers coach is more than a basketball coach. When we mention Kobe & Shaq Lakers we also mention Phil Jackson. As LA HC you're a figure of the team itself and JJ will have to learn that media CAN pressure you out of that job.

    Legs said that the Lakers weren't good from 3 (accuracy) last year. That's just straight untrue. They were 9th in the NBA in 3pt percentage. The issue is that they didn't take nearly enough.

      Eh.. maybe that’s a lesson in making the right friends.. all of these guys are former colleagues of JJ’s.. and, in sports/media, people respect a no-nonsense person who over-prepares for their job (in addition to having multiple other jobs).. he clearly made an impression while he was at ESPN..
      And yea, it’s an experiment, for sure.. but if you look at the guy’s career and what he’s done since retiring, he’s maxed out his potential at every level.. I tend to expect a lot from coaches who weren’t talented enough to be *great* pro players, but had the mind/competitiveness of a great player.. usually means they’ve been ITCHING to affect winning in a way their bodies wouldn’t allow.. but now they can do it from a different angle.. I can’t call it, but if I had to predict, I think he’s gonna be pretty darn good

    Espn is nuts. Kerr has front office exp espn losses their mind with the hire. Steve Nash spent time around the warriors working with players, espn loses mind with the hire. JJ has a podcast with lbj, espn idk why ppl hate this hire he's going to a great coach.

      ESPN has to say good things about the lakers and constantly put them in stories everyday while they ignore every one of the 20 other teams that are actually much better than the lakers. They will make every excuse in the world for the lakers. They are an average nba team at best and deserve no media coverage.

    Lmao he was outworked & out thought a LOT during his playing career. Even in college at Duke where he was his absolute best (excluding HS), he admittedly was outworked & checked by Coach K for being lazy & getting fat.
