They do have something between Rise and Kanji though. In Arena, Ultimax, and DAN, Kanji and Rise have some moments that can either be interpreted as being really close friends or one that show that there is some chemistry between them.

It's on a grid. When you walk, the squares fill in. You get different icons to mark events, treasure, doors, etc. You also have to fill in where the walls are. On each floor there's a treasure you can get if you fill in 100% of the map.
