The Doors. One of my all time favorite bands. I used to date a Vietnam vet who primarily played The Doors. It was wonderful. They were very meaningful at that time. It was a meaningful relationship. Thank you for your heartfelt reactions. ❤
timeless vibe. lyrically, elemental, longing, transcending. keys are beautiful w/ density. guitar & drums more subtle but set the mood.... the doors had a lot of various cards under their hat.
I love Doors songs that were not radio hits. Like "MY EYES HAVE SEEN YOU"! Jim was singing about what he observed while living on the rooftop of an L.A. building.
To me, this is a bit like a smoother and more languid companion to "When The Music's Over," though they weren't on the same album. "The Crystal Ship" was on their debut album, and "When The Music's Over" was on their second album. I agree that this is a very dreamy song ... dream inducing. Also, agreed that you don't have to have a lot of notes to make a perfect song (thinking of Mozart).
Cool. "Twentieth Century Fox" follows next on the album with plenty of pick up to rouse the sleepy minded. But for another umbral soporific from their debut album also check out "End of the Night". Otherwise, for something in between waking and sleeping, check out "I Can't See Your Face in My Mind" from their Strange Days album.
One of my faves.
My favourite Doors song, one of their most beautiful. The piano part at 1.20 is wonderful.

Enclose me in your gentle rain. The poetry of Jim Morrison. American Romanticism Rock.

Good band good song.
There used to be a head shop downtown called The Crystal Ship. Great place.
Ah, thank you for this one and yes , it IS a beautiful song to play before going to sleep "Before you slip into unconsciousness..."
Good reaction! I also like a very relaxing song that can cause me to drift off. A compliment like this man says!
Best band, never will get tired of say it hehe
I would love to see you react to I Like Myself by Gene Kelley. He was a song and dance man that sang in the crooner style.
