I unfortunately experienced a lot of trauma as a kid. Thankfully, there were people like this man and his movies, who helped me escape reality for a couple hours and showed me it’s completely ok to not give a shit what others think. His willingness to act like a weirdo in his movies was a huge inspiration and influence for helping me come out of my shell and be a goof around people I’m comfortable with. Which makes them laugh and brings me joy that I’m able to provide that! Fucking love Jim Carrey!!

Quite possibly the most genuine and transparent man to ever walk the earth. A complete and total open book, take it or leave it kind of person. One of my favorite Jim Carrey quotes is: "I wish that every person on earth could find fame, fortune, celebrity, and success so that they could see that it's not where they're going to find their sense of completion or happiness like they'd hoped." A brilliant man. I love everything about James Eugene Carrey. Just some guy from Canada who went on to become my favorite actor, by far.

Reading spiritual literature, establishing a relationship with a higher power, however you define it, and humbling yourself to it. Once you have a spiritual awakening, you will develop an incredible hunger for this type of content and it will resonate with you on a deep level. I never believed any of it until it happened to me and now I’m “one of those people”. A video like this wouldn’t have meant much to me in the past but now it feels like a deep-seated truth.

I just adore Jim Carrey! I'm so glad he's doing motivational speeches to help people and share his wisdom! He has brought so much happiness in my life from his movies. Laughter is medicine! We need more people like him who use art to uplift others and free them for a little while from the day to day grind of life. I agree with a lot of what he says in the speech. Setting intent is crucial in achieving goals. The ego can get in the way of living a life free of suffering. Some of what he says reminds me of the book called "The Fall" by Steve Taylor.

I used to have this same train of thought, especially what he said at the end.
As i've gotten older and went through very difficult times including physical and mental abuse, been extremely depressed, chronic anxiety, social anxiety, ptsd and drug abuse,
and slowly getting back to that same train of thought I once had which was and is now carefree, happy go lucky, let life happen for you. I knew that way of thinking was 'the right way'.
Looking at myself from a different perspective, through my imagination of looking down on myself, from different angles. Seeing life through both my eyes and imagination of the universe.
Well said Jim, always was and still is an inspiration to live better.

@JimCarrey-pj9jq so did you feel the big shift we had around January 18th? There are a lot of people that said they felt it physically but I never felt anything.
However since the full moon this month I have been releasing a lot of things I thought that I had already healed. Deep sorrow but the letting go was almost instant, so that's a plus.

I was a Buddhist for 12 years. I know what he's talking about, and this whole "there is no ego, I am everyone, everyone is me, suffering is caused by attachment, etc" feels like a valuable lesson and you catch glimpses of some altruistic ego-less state sometimes. He says "I'm trying to get back there, it's like riding a wave, it comes and it goes, it's like riding a wave, but at least I know where I want to go." Hopefully he comes to the realization that this is actually, no basis for a spiritual path, and that one's attention is better spent using a better surfboard that doesn't knock you off all the time. Buddhism is like socialism... "sounds good on paper."

You're probably an empath. For some reason, empaths get to be literal and emotional punching bags for others.
Not all, some empaths go the other way and we act strong to deny how sensitive we are. I’m a CEO but 100% empath , I’ve only really discovered that recently. I feel everything somebody is feeling, I watch reality tv and feel their pain. I feel deeply sad when I see people in distress. I’ve run from that for a long time.

I work at a crappy job, work like man when i'm a small woman. My main joy is relieving other people from the pain i understand.
It's people like this the world should give a louder voice. What a difference it would make and the progress we could be making as human beings completely separated from distraction. I'm trying but it's hard to tell if you're doing the right thing because to get there you need to let everything else come to a stop first and that's a scary thought.
