New subbie💜 The topic is perfect timing because I've been reflecting about why during busy seasons I avoid using my planner. These tips are helpful for me to reflect and adjust.
I’ve had to change up my whole planning system due to illness. I was doing a hybrid bullet journal/travel journal and using it as an artistic outlet. I was recently diagnosed with a very painful illness that affects my shoulders, wrists and hands. Sadly it seems to hit my dominant hand the most and the results are pain, swelling and I can’t even hold a pen for up to three to four days. No idea when it will hit and it can happen four to six times a month. With everything else that goes to the way side when this happens I sure don’t have time for artsy journaling. I’ve embraced a more focus on planning style and it’s going okay, actually a nice change for the time being.
Our meal plan is weekly. It’s So flexible but still a guide. Mon= pasta dish, tues meat n vegs. Weds= wraps, thurs =rice dish, fri = air fried/ order alt weeks. Sat =meat n vegs, sunday help yaself night, warm ups, leftovers, tinned etc. it works
You make all good points when talking about your trackers 4:00. But I wanted to comment on your TV program tracker... Maybe be the reason you aren't keeping it up to date is where you have it located. It would be more useful if you kept it near where you watch TV instead of in your planner. Now, if you take your planner to the TV every time you watch then never mind. But the purpose of this tracker for me, would be: i would want to see it when I sit down to watch so i know where I am so i can quickly select the next episode. I'd also keep a marker with it so I can mark the episodes as I watch. So here's a new strategy on every tracker you need to write down "why" you are tracking something. Because if the purpose of your TV tracker is just to record a history of what you've seen... You're right, it is a lame reason to keep it updated when all you have to say yup, I watched that series. Kinda like a book list... most people dont tract the chapters that they've read. 💖🌞🌵😷
I’ve been avoiding my journal because it’s too big, and I need something smaller…. The size really matters! I always thought I love A5, but now… I’m exploring.
I avoided my planner because it was so big I didn't want to throw it in my bag. I ended up going with a pocket notebook and doing a hybrid with Google calendar
Always love your videos! I realized a long time ago that I overstuff my planner. I'm a huge notetaker, it's how I solve my problems. So I created a work planner, a notebook, and a home planner. The result is 3 books that I end up carrying around and trying to fit all my plans into one anyway. I have even gone so far as to create a catchall planner but then get stuck in that. It's a vicious cycle. Ideas, notes, and plans get lost in a bullet journal while rings and discs are too large and bulky. I'm currently in the process of designing my own system in hopes I can solve this dilemma 🫰.
Our meal plan is weekly but broad. So flexible but still a guide. Mon= pasta dish, tues meat n vegs. Weds= wraps, thurs =rice dish, fri = air fried/ order alt weeks. Sat =meat n vegs, sunday help yaself night, warm ups, leftovers, tinned etc. it works
Loved this. It was so concise, thoughtful and clear. Yes, sometimes we just get stuck and can't see why. The only way I can remember to use my main planner is to keep it open in a high traffic area when I'm home. Otherwise I get lost in getting through the day and not checking in periodically. Also, I have noticed that I tend to mistake "tasks" for "projects" and upon review, have to create a project with steps which become tasks. Well-crafted and enjoyable content, as always. TFS!
Ty for this, I'm majorly procrastinating setting up my 2024 planner, almost like planner PTSD and needed this help, Ty SO Much! ❤❤your literally the best!
Thank you for this. Sometimes it takes someone else pointing out the 'obvious' for you to see it. You've helped me to see that I am waaay overcomplicating everything. 😅
Love this!! Thank you so much Annie. I am experiencing this right now and it sucks. My planner was my best friend! Lol..my husband calls it My Brain. 😂 I have found out why I am ignoring her thanks to you!! I have way to many things and inserts that I don't need and are not necessary 🙂 I am going to take out the inserts that I am not using. There are no consequences if I don't use them so why have them 🙂 Thanks Again!! ♥️♥️
I get put off my planner when it's too fat. It's hard to grip and I'm afraid of dropping it. That's why i love my rings. I can still use the bullet journal method, if I want... just in a notebook that has rings instead of being bound. With rings I can archive what I don't need at hand, but can walk a couple of feet to my desk to look up something months ago, if needed. 💖🌞🌵😷
I’m finding it hard to sit down and write in it on a regular basis however I am constantly feeling the need to write . As a result I end up doing some back planning and that’s ok because I don’t let it get to ahead of me. I actually think I romanticize it ( I imagine sitting in a cozy chair and a hot cup of coffee or glass of wine) Not reality . I also don’t take the time to decorate it like I’d like. 🤷♀️

I have an A5 rings and couldn’t force myself to use it. I bought an a5 bound Erin Condren on sale and I love it. It’s light, small, and simple.

Thank you! I’m new to planning and it gets overwhelming to me.
Love these suggestions. Thanks.

I make the same mistake with tasks and projects and I can usually tell because that item stays incomplete for weeks.
@@PlanningAnnie So true!
Wow! Task vs project. 🤯 I think choosing if it’s a task or projects is going to change so much for me now

Helpful tips! I probably don’t reflect and review methodically enough!

My motto on planning- My planner should help me manage and simplify my life not be an added burden.

I am avoiding my planner because I can’t decide between a6 and b6
