    I just want to clarify that I think golf is a great sport and wonderful when people find activities that they love! I hope no one feels like I was speaking negatively on the sport or has anxiety around their partner playing! It was meant to just be silly banter about how time consuming the sport is 💛⛳️

      Cancer survivor here too, however male. OP's wife, friends and mother are just pure garbage. The daughter begging OP to give his wife a second chance has me thinking, that the wife is manipulating the daughter in order to manipulate OP, which makes her even more of a garbage person. As someone who has had a partner go through the whole cancer process with them, it wouldn't even cross my mind to want a hall pass, because I was close to death or whatever.

    About the 2nd story:
    Why is everybody only talking about what SHE went through? HE was confronted with the possible death of his wife of over 20 years! That's traumatic too.

    • @theunkindnessofravens
      @theunkindnessofravens ปีที่แล้ว +27

      It’s easy for wife’s friends and relatives to care about her, because in the end it’s about *their* almost-loss of her. She could have disappeared and in the process lost a crucial part of her womanhood (saying that one loosely, since it’s not the organ that makes a woman), so for them it’s vital for her to do everything she want to “recover”, because this way her circle can feel that they will recover with her.
      The husband in this is forgotten, unfortunately. I think it’s equally the personal callousness and human nature. It’s easy to not pay attention to things that are good and okay, and since the husband was there the whole time and didn’t break down, wife and her circle got a feeling that he will be there no matter what.
      Good for him to leave. With wife having a whole cheerleading team, she can’t confront how horrible her behavior is - all she will hear is how she is in the right and how wrong her husband is. Especially with her comment about how she confidently thought that the marriage “won’t end over this”. I think with her echo chamber she forgot that she is not the only one in the marriage

      I totally agree, I see people react different to cancer and death. Sometimes people in their last days can be selfish, I saw that happen a few times. But still never like this form of hedonism. but It’s so weird that her environment just all agreed with this that no one said the truth to her. She sounds like the trauma caused her personality to change and not for the better.

      Thank you every time they said what she bent through I screamed what about what he’s been through yes she had cancer and struggled with that but she didn’t go through it by herself sounds to me he stood by her every step of the way probably putting on a brave face for her but also being worried that he potentially could be losing the love of his life. Then for her to turn around and disrespect him like that is so heartbreaking

      This! And as someone whose dealing with possible uterine cancer myself he had to deal with everything leading up to it sexually too and didn’t seem to flinch or blink he stayed by her side and carried her when she needed it… I agree with Lauren to throw that away for an orgasm, for sex… not worth it.

      as a child of someone who survived cancer (twice), I can confirm that it’s equally traumatic for everyone in the family. my mother felt no urge to cheat after getting her breast removed. and as someone who has been in a polyamorous relationship, polyamory only works if everyone in the relationship is aware and 100% comfortable with the established rules and boundaries. if you break those rules and cross those boundaries, you’re cheating, end of story.

      She got greedy. The cancer made her realise she wanted to put her desires before anything else. Which is fine generally speaking. She just didn't understand that's what being single means. She looked back on every concession she's made in their marriage and lost sight on the mountain of benefits she received in return. Sad she let her friends speak louder than her husband, daughter or therapist. Fuck around and find out will feel very lonely now.

    • @MyBlackSheep
      @MyBlackSheep ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honest question: how is it a death of your womanhood? Only because you cannot have children any more or does it have some other physical (hormonal??) effects?

    • @PersephonesWrath_
      @PersephonesWrath_ 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@MyBlackSheepa bit of both. A total hysterectomy has the effect of producing early menopause due to the fact that the ovaries are removed and you can’t naturally produce your hormones anymore, it can be really difficult to deal with that since it can have a lot of physical side effects. But also in a symbolic sense- many women tie their womanhood to their reproductive cycles. The ability to have periods, make and develop life and eventually bear that life is synonymous to womanhood traditionally. It can really shake things up when you realise that those functions are taken away from you, either through biological or medical means, i hope that makes sense!

    My cousin got married at 20 and his wife was 17 1/2, they had 5 kids in 8 years and she had to have an emergency hysterectomy after the premature birth of their youngest son. It ended up being the biggest blessing because within a couple of years she was diagnosed with two auto immune diseases and probably would have continued having kids if not. They have had strains throughout with her many hospitalizations, almost losing their son twice, their daughter's diabetes diagnosis and other daughter's marriage breakdown but both were each others first and have just celebrated their 45th anniversary. I've lost both parents to cancer but can't imagine cheating because you had a hysterectomy. Yes, cancer is scary but she beat it and chose to do her own thing without even discussing it with her husband. She took her wants and ran with it.

    For the cancer story: Her friends, her mother, and herself kept repeating, "what she is going through", "her feelings.." etc, but no one ever considered what he went through as the one being there for her through the cancer, and the thoughts he could have had of losing his wife. If she didn't know how to cope with loosing her womanhood, she should've found therapy through the hospital that helped her. Not used cheating to cope.
    My godmother had breast cancer, and my mom had cervical cancer, we ALL hurt. Ofc we aren't the ones with cancer, but being there and seeing what your loved one is going through IS difficult. Also- the hospitals did offer counseling for the cancer victim, AND the family.

    The first story discussion really got to me cause I’ve been in that scenario. A couple of years ago when I was a baby streamer I met this TH-camr and started to talk to him. He introduced me to his friends , very big gaming streamers and stuff and he also used to buy me subs to flex how much money he got. I then got to know that he had a girlfriend that he lives with at the time but he would just say that they had broken up and were just living together because of covid. That he was allowed to see other people.
    I felt like it wasn’t really true so I contacted his girlfriend and guess what??? They were still together. Not been on a break or anything. And she was devastated. He tried to lie and call me a two faced liar and that I made the entire thing up. But after a day of fighting he came and “apologized” to me and said he would focus on fixing stuff with his girlfriend.
    (I wasn’t the first woman he’d tried to get with aparently) and as far as I’m aware , they’re still together till this day :/.

    Story 2: that woman weaponized the cancer and used it as an excuse to cheat. Yes, she went through a lot with the cancer, but so did he, he went through the emotions of watching the love of his life fight the illness and having to come to terms that she may have died.

    I’m still on story 1, but some quick context:
    The husband likely wasn’t calling the other woman the devil. He was likely referring to The Devil. It’s a thing religious people do; they blame the devil for their bad behavior, that way they don’t have to be accountable for anything.

    The very last story from the write in… I’m sobbing. I lived in a similar situation with two roommates. My grandma was dying, and then she died. Throughout this they continued to attack me and team up on me over minor issues - even if they did the same thing. It was so hard to not have a safe/comfortable place to grieve my last living grandparent. It feels suffocating in a toxic household like that.

    The necrophilia one reminds me of a scene in the show “Better Call Saul” where he’s a defense attorney for this group of teenagers that snuck in to a morgue (I think I can’t remember the exact details) and SAed a corpse as a “joke” and recorded themselves doing it. Makes me wonder if it’s the same situation since it was an older man and because he kept saying he was “young and dumb”, plus we don’t know how he got caught so maybe he was with friends or even recorded it himself.

    Usually people who cheat are insecure. My ex cheat on me w all my friends. Idk why but I stayed w him. I got so fed up that I cheated on him too. He was literally heart broken. More broken than I was over it. I saw him 10 years later and he told me that I ruined him and he'll never love again 🤦🏽‍♀️ idk what his logic is but I do know he was insecure and any girl who gave him the time of day he'd eat up the attention and let things go way too far.

    That girl is using her cancer as an excuse to do bs. Just look at her actions and you'll see that her fantasy of this 1 nighter with a colleague has a higher importance to her than her 20+ years with you. You stayed and took care care of her at her worst and she can't even pay you with respect or loyalty. Stand your ground and leave her. Unless your okay with her manipulating you with her cancer.

    WOW! I believe it’s story 2 with the lady that cheated on her husband because she had cancer. Well let me tell you I have the exactly same thing but never got a hysterectomy I’m going through the many surgeries needed for me to bring a child into the world but at NOOOOOO point would I ever wanna cheat on my partner that is an outrageous choice. Maybe you should have thought of that before you entered into a marriage. Some people’s ideas baffle me. I highly doubt she would feel the same way if her husband wanted that she would have been hurt so bad but just because she went though this she felt like she gets a whole new life or a new start but you forget about the family you already started wow that just sounds ridiculous smh🙄…..but aside from the crazy people of the world lol love the pod! And love your views on each story!

  • @shannonhudson
    @shannonhudson ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fort Story #1 - Being the other woman NEVER plays out the way you think it will. First off, you are knowingly choosing to be with a known cheater, a known manipulator. Why on earth do you think that he won't turn around and do the same to you? This is not a person you can trust. I feel like the other woman in this story got some sort of validation and gratification thinking that he chose her over his wife, but that, even if it were true, would be short-lived. Now, he also knows that you're not a trustworthy person and you're in this toxic relationship where neither one of you trusts one-another. I know this because in the past, I had a guy pursue me aggressively while he was in a relationship. I was absolutely not okay with it in any way... so he broke up with her. We started dating and guess what? He cheated on me! How shocking! And I mean that in a sarcastic way. People show you who they are, so please listen to them before you commit to a life with someone who clearly doesn't respect you or them self.

    For the 2nd story. My partner and I are poly (currently non practicing, this has nothing to do with our love life), that being said this is not healthy in any way. Poly relationships (or open) are built on trust, boundaries and respect, none of which she showed. My partner and I have our rules, I personally like to at least meet the person he might be with (for him this isn't an issue) and if he said "oh I met this girl and hooked up with her" without my knowledge before hand this would be a big issue for me. I do understand her "losing her womanhood" is a big deal, but she didn't have to be so toxic about it and I agree with what Morgan said on the issue.
    For us when we met (10+ years ago) I was very open about being poly, something he hadn't done but was more than open to, so for us we never had the discovery of it after the relationship started, but I also agree with morgan that if this starts after a relationship is founded that it shouldn't be someone that was known before. My partner and I recently talked about this when talking about the 90 fiance couple Hazel and Tirek (sp?). I found it refreshing that for the most part they seemed on the same page and rather healthy, aside from the 1st girl T tried this with was one he knew durning a break up of him and H.

    Husband in the first story is not about any midlife crisis or being happy. He did it as a game because he is a sociopath. This is exactly the kind of thing they do, because it's fun and they have no conscience. That's how he does it and gets away with it; he doesn't feel bad. He doesn't actually love those women, because they are incapable of love.
