For my upcoming wedding, I'm in my family tartan. But my dad and brother are in Royal hunting Stewart as it complments the Macintyre tartan, also theirs is hire. We all have the same type of jacket and waistcoat. And their wearing a plain bottle green tie and I've got a bottle green cravat.
I'm currently single, but whenever I do find my life partner and look at getting married, I want to wear my mother's tartan (Maxwell) because my father's family isn't Scottish. I'd more likely opt for matching tartan ties for my groomsmen to forego the cost of renting three or four kilts, or if they have tartans that they prefer, they could get unique tartan ties to wear with Saxon suits. I might also get a sash for my bride to place on her after the exchanging of the vows because I just adore the symbolism of welcoming her into my clan. I think about this way too much for not even having a girlfriend...
Wearing my Kilt and my groomsmen are wearing suits. I had a suit jacket and waist coat tailored to fit well with the kilt and as close to the groomsmen's suit colours as possible
I'm amazed that in your options you didn't mention trews or a combination of say the groom in a BPC and the entourage in Argylls and even if you want just one tartan then use the variants, modern, ancient and weathered. The combinations are limitless.Do you not thave the ancient and weathered variants in USA?
The groom in kilt and every other men in pants from the same tartan, It would clearly separate the groom from the rest and still get the theme of the wedding.
My nephew wore his family tartan kilt- which he wears fairly often. Groomsmen wore regular suits. Looked fine.

Possibly. Damned expensive. And those pants are only going to be worn once. Nobody will be wearing those trews outside of that wedding.
