Hey Pontus, first and foremost, Greetings from France. Yea, I'm not surprised that the Seven Bass floatie suits you, they definitely are a blast! In regards to your question, I highly suggest you check out Julien Signoret's videos. He mainly fishes for Wels Catfish from a float tube using a technique he coined 'Track Shadow'. Imo, I'd definitely say he makes some of the most entertaining float tube fishing vids I've seen on YT lately. Hit him up, I'm sure he would be glad to take you out for a session. As for you, keep up your good work!

I once was fishing from my float tube and didn't catch or feel anything so I kinda gave up and just threw out my lure and stopped spinning it while talking to my buddies since we were bored and my rod started bending and I thought my lure was snagged behind reeds again because I was drifting away with the wind and pedalling away from my lure so I tried jerking it lose and it started jerking back, after a long fight I landed it and turns out, it was a new pb of 1.21m! The weirdest take I've ever had and yet resulted in my biggest fish aswell.. maybe I should stop trying to actually catch fish?
If you use a softbait without that "dint" in for the hook to hide in... put the hook where you want it, pull it thru, take a sharp knife ie stanly knife and make a cut on the lenght of the hook on top, the hook hide in that. Only make it 1.5 - 2.5 mm deep tho. Works a treat. Tight lines folks
@@kanalgratisdotse Indeed. Largemouth bass, on a small boat or from shore. The occasional courageous 'tilapia' (a type of cichlid) will attack a bass lure though.. Which is nice sometimes because they are good eating, fried whole..mm. I release all the bass I catch, however. 😀
Going to be ordering my float tube next week and I can't wait to just spend HOURS on the water fishing and relaxing. If there is one thing I have learned about fishing (which I started just over a month ago), it is that it clears my mind better than anything else can and it also feels so rewarding to catch those fish! Are those clips on your line so you dont have to keep retying the line? What are those called? On a side note though, what are the chances of being bitten by a snapping turtle while in a float tube? Also, I remember the first pike i caught was on a rooster tail ... was not a good time to unhook that bad boy.

@@kanalgratisdotse I'm focusing on pike when at that lake, but there is also perch. This lake is known for big pikes. This autumn I got 82 cm (personal best) pike in about depth of 30 cm, on some small popper on one of my first casts. I was really shocked, that decent size pike was in so shallow depth, I was expecting that size fish to be in the deeper side of the lake!

As always a great film Pontus, i´d like to promote something for us fishingcrazy guys and girls with physical disability´s if it is okay with you, i´ll remove it if you like.. I really love floattub fishing and did a lot of it, then i had a accident and lost the funktion of my legs. I was really sad for not beeing able to paddle any more. Now for all you other guys and girls in wheelchair i am working with Adam who developed the ICROSS and i am testing and reports to him and he is awesome and really take it to heart. So we are trying out some stuff that will make it possible for us with non working legs to experience almost the same feeling as the floattubers are. I really don´t want to steal the thunder from you Pontus in any way shape or form, loving your films. I just want to make it possible for others in my situation to get out on the water to. I fish mostly for pike and seatrout both with fly and spinn gear and it is as Pontus says the ultimate freedom. I just take the ehh "Färdtjänst" ha ha to the place i wont to fish, pump it up and glide over from the wheelchar or "elmoppen" into the comfy chair ant paddle out into freedom. This will be excellent. In my area we have one good size lake (25.56 km²), where depth is 30 cm to max 150 cm, and it's full of weeds and algae.
