I lived in "Hilldale" when they shot that scene for BTTF 3. The back side of my house was along that street (Doris Ave) where Needles and Marty were drag racing, one block down from where the Rolls Royce came out. I was in the 7th grade back then, and my friends and I would get up at 6 am to watch them film. I got to give Michael J. Fox a high-five and also got to say hello to Elisabeth Shue (who no one really recognized so she was just sitting there by herself playing guitar between takes)
DUDE!!! I really LOVE what you have done here. Taking video footage and still pictures, and lining them up with the film! That is totally inspired! I worked on Parts 2 & 3, back to back, and I think what you have done here is BRILLIANT!!!!
One of an handful of movies I never tire of watching, no matter how many times I've watched it, ....it is a truly wonderful film, from the Xbox of the story, to the acting, and the great movie soundtrack,...it's the perfect family , and a classic
Congrats man! you must have had a lot of work, and all of us fans, we appreciate this opportunity you gave us to remember and nostalgiar this movie that marked the childhood and adolescence of many of the world out ... thanks!...i speak from Brazil
Thanks Herve! Man you sure do get around Dude! Awesome the places you have been & seen to get these videos out for us to see! Thanks again for all your hard work & dedication brother! Take It Easy...\m/
some big TV network should give you a show where in each episode you revisit the sets from classic movies with side by side comparisons like you do here. i'm always amazed to see what has changed and what hasn't from my favorite movies as a kid. i would definitely watch a show like that. anyway, keep up the good work!
The time this must have taken is staggering to imagine. Can't thank you enough for spending the hours to pull it off. Cool as f###. I hope to see some of these locations in person, if I ever make it out to Cali again.
Awesome editing, and you did a good job on the blending of then and now. I'm also amazed that the open fields of the 1955 Lyon Estates and the field opposite Hilldale are still open fields to this day. I figured those sites would have been built up by now.
Parts 1 and 2, very very very nice works!!! It must be very nice to be in the exact location where the movie was filmed. Beautiful experience no doubt.
really enjoy your work. Thanks for sharing. I really like the effect when you drop out elements of the shot which finally leaves the current view and then you zoom out, that is a great effect. I think your skill for placing yourself into the video is improving too. Anyway, very well done. Thanks again.
This is a brilliant video. Thanks for the upload. Was really entertaining and interesting. It's great to see locations as they are before/and after filming
i said it last time on part one this is good enough to be put on the bluray as an extra.. well done harve that was incredible and by far your best yet thanks so much for some reason its more special doing the comparison shots on this movie.. the then and now shots just seems to fit better with the back to the future movies
If you take the Tram tour on the Universal Lot you will see the two entrance walls to Marty's nieghbord that still say Lyon Estates. They are made of fiberglass. Excellent video!!
Great work on these videos. A nice time in film history where actual locations were used. Now it is all green screen and sets. BTTF was a snap shot it time while at the same time being a snap shot about time! The first will always be the best. They should have had it where one of Marty's parents had recently died and it was really hard on him. When he went back in time it would have made it a lot more emotional and dramatic. I am sure that was an idea that was thrown around, but Zemeckis must have thought, with so much else going on, that it would have made the plot more complicated than it already was.
Awesome job!! Thanx for uploading! I saw some of the locations on a tour in Universal Studios, but this is really interesting! I paused the video several times to find out, what details of houses, streets etc. have changed over the years and what remained the same. Sometimes it´s only a couple of paint-layers....
Not bad at all. So nice to see how it looks today. But it's a shame that you didn't use the same focal lengths and more accurate compositions in order to look exactly like the scenes from the movie, when you show the before/after. And why adding so much effects and ugly lens flares on the lights ? It ruins some shots. Apart from that, I do like a lot the initiative. Thanks for the video.
hey Herve Attia ! I am really impressed by your job ! you are really a professional , I watch your videos several times sometimes its an excellent work . congratulatiuons. I also have a question. did you do Saturday night fever? because I saw some other tries but were"nt that good . i would love to follow you on facebook. thank you again...
Another great production Herve well done! I'm amazed you havent got a deal with the movie companies to do these films for their 'Extras' sections on DVD and could even include interviews. You must have thought of that right? Also, I still dont understand why your camera angles don't match up to the movie perfectly. Why is that? Easy to bring a DVD and laptop with you right? It takes a while in your clips to orientate yourself to the scene as a lot of them have changed so much. Good work dude.
the editing is amazing work u have made my favorite movie more alive with this nicely placed shot just like in the film great eye keep up the good work
Fantastic edit very well done, kinda sad though that you grow up with the Back To The Future films, which only seems like 2 or so years ago,but which of course isnt the case, well done
Great Job! Sorry now in Spanish, my English is very poor. Any way thanx a loooooot for your Job...me tranporta a mi juventud! ;-) Gracias gracias gracias!
Great video once again pal!! How come you didnt film the stair well from Biff Tannens Pleasure Paradise, i know the location for that is in a parking garage in LA.
Nice work...Its weird to know that, next year, in november 05, is gonna be the day that Marty arrived in the future...Things are a bit diferent so far, as they were in the movie...
oct 21. 2015 4pm is what it said in the time machine, and if you think about it, alot of the stuff they had in the future we have already, even the flying cars, they just havent been sold yet, but no signs of a hovarboard =[
That's an interesting point - most of the structures seem pretty much the same (of course if I had a house that was in such a classic movie, I might keep it fairly similar, for historical reasons). On another note, the only modification I would make to your comment would be to change modidications to modifications :-)

@@theboundless05 that's just a repetitive cycle that'll go on through time till it stops.

Thanks for your amazing research, filming and editing job. This was the next best thing to seeing my all-time favorite movie trilogy again :)
Your editing skills are amazing. Very creative in the immersion of the scenes from then and now, as well as character placements. Good job!
The time this must have taken is staggering to imagine. Can't thank you enough for spending the hours to pull it off. Cool as f###. I hope to see some of these locations in person, if I ever make it out to Cali again.

Simply amazing! I'm a BTTF fan and I enjoyed every minute of it! Very well done!
FANTASTICALLY put together. Watched both parts. Lot of work put into this. Brilliant.
Parts 1 and 2, very very very nice works!!! It must be very nice to be in the exact location where the movie was filmed. Beautiful experience no doubt.

I've seen many of these filming locations for Back to the Future but this is the best by far. Thanks.
really enjoy your work. Thanks for sharing. I really like the effect when you drop out elements of the shot which finally leaves the current view and then you zoom out, that is a great effect. A truly remarkable pair of videos! Well researched and well done!
5 stars!!!
Brilliant as always :)
I find your videos much more entertaining and informative than the special features that are included on DVDs and Blu-rays.
This is a brilliant video. Thanks for the upload. Was really entertaining and interesting.
It's great to see locations as they are before/and after filming
How did you make this??????? What software did you use????? I really wanna know because it's just amazing how you made this!
It is awesome the only thing better would be to name the location as you travel through!

Herve, you've done an awesome job. It's been fun watching how your presentation have improved over time.
If you take the Tram tour on the Universal Lot you will see the two entrance walls to Marty's nieghbord that still say Lyon Estates. They are made of fiberglass. Excellent video!!
REALLY good job man! RIP Dave Brown ( Drummer in the Dance band..."What the hell you doin' to my car?" )

Great Scott, another brilliant masterpiece by Herve Attia.
at 0:57 why do they have the same cycles in front of the school?
The theme at 5:38 reminds me of the Predator, but that movie was made 2 years later, in 1987.
Amazing work, very profesional
thank you man, you made my day :)

that's that song called at the end of the video?
sounds like it's "Back in Time" from Huey Lewis and the News
Cool! and very good! thank you for doing this.
badass bro!! I watched both parts and was amazed once again!
Wells seems like all the neighborhoods and houses still look the same. No paint jobs or major modidications
That's an interesting point - most of the structures seem pretty much the same (of course if I had a house that was in such a classic movie, I might keep it fairly similar, for historical reasons).
On another note, the only modification I would make to your comment would be to change modidications to modifications :-)
SouthCalifas619 ... CAPTAIN FUCKING OBVIOUS !!!!
Fascinating editing. THX.
