This is awesome! Thank you for your plugin (GREAT VALUE, for those who are still on the fence about it!) as well as for all your valuable tutorials Cédric! Highly appreciated :)
I understand this is not the main point but just want to add that there is practically no need to assign a header tag to a section in Bricks because when we create a header template, it automatically contains the header tag.
This is absolutely true Sridhar. This is probably not the most frequent use case. But it can happen that one whats a header without creating a template. Some designs could also require the use of the brxe-section element with a tag of header somewhere else than in the site header. When working in page builder, the confusion between the section as the Bricks element (or any container element) and the section as the HTML tag is easy.
I want to use the Structure builder part of BricksProps without all the other classes. Is there a way to disable this. I'm using Advanced themer on a project, so I don't need that stuff.
Thanks for your review of the new features and for the great plugin. It would be nice to have in the templates a semantically correct standard wordpress menu that is divided into 2 parts and stretched in different directions and in the center is the logo
With Emmet appearance in Oxygen 4.5, i am thinking of creative ways to use it together with OxyProps. These structure context menus act like a library of Emmet instructions available for users. In the Oxygen version of the plugin, I am actually able to use either JSON injection or Emmet instructions under the hood.
Cedric this is awesome! For Patterns, would be great if we could customise our own. Sometimes I create my own and I would like tp reuse it on some other pages. This will expand the use case of patterns.
This is awsome Cédric, As I'm still learning CSS and Oxyprops the more I use Bricksprops the more I see how powerful and easier it is to structure everything. Thus my next question is. It would be great to watch your workflow when using this new structure builder to build out a home page of a new website. Thanks again for the great videos 😉
Hello, Why : It does so the website is light/dark responsive. How : it sets a background-color: var(--o-surface-1) declaration to the html element with a zero specificity so it can be easily overriden by any other rule. If you use Bricks Theme styles, it is controlled by the Themes styles.
@@OxyProps I did set the theme style background to #0f1123 and the condition to entire site and/but the page background still shows up white also when I disable the plugin the color brickprops pallets are still there
Thanks DaRk0. For sure, the price must cover the develoment costs. I don't think I will increase over the current offer, but there is currently a discount on the LTD offert that won't last forever. And I will eventually stop offering a LTD, except on specific occasions maybe like black friday.
@@OxyProps it's how it should be. I see price is already increase in comparison what I paid for. Not sure if I bought it on discount or it was 99 before.
This is a feature I added to the Oxygen version of the plugin a long time ago as this was a need for me to be more productive. And it really is a good productivity tool. With this version of the plugin, I developed the Bricks version of it, and improved the features to include more complex structures and components.
👏👏 Phenominal Cedric! Very close to pulling the trigger. The only thing I can see being a little annoyance is having the OxyProps options at the top of the right click, so each time I want to use the Bricks default options I will see the OxyProps flyouts when the mouse travels past them. It would be nice instead to have a modifier key + right click to only show the OP options? (eg. CMD+right click). But truly impressive update anyway.
Hi Jason, This is exactly the kind of topics I want to discuss and decide with users! Do you use Bricks default option a lot ? I must admit I don't. When I first developed the Oxygen version, there was no problem as Oxygen doesn't have a native context menu for structure tree. So, the process is straightforward. In Bricks, I have to accommodate the existing context menu. I want the process to be as smooth as possible for the user. The less clicks, the less key input, the better. I chose to display the menu on hover to avoid an additional click for the user : 1 for opening the context menu, one for displaying the panel, then a third one on the item you want. When using this feature to build a full layout, this can generate a lot of additional unnecessary clicks or modifier keys activation. For example, the first way I had coded the menu was to press and hold the V key to extend the menu, then it shrinks when the key is released. Very quickly, the beta testers asked me to change it so you don't have to hold the key.
Hi Cedric. I can imagine the difficulty, you've packed a lot in to an already tight space. Well.. yes I use the copy and paste styles, and insert/wrap options quite a lot. Keyboard shortcuts for elements definitely speed up build time though. To be honest for the structure I could see me using the OxyProp options more than the Bricks default, but for those times (when I forgot to create a class) and I need to use copy/paste repetitively, I could see it being a bit much to see the flyouts each time, but maybe not. I like the idea of a modifier to separate the two but you're beta testers have better insight. I think I'll give it a go first and see if it's actually an issue (for me). I have a new site build starting this weekend so I'll be happy to feed back.
Great work! I am dreaming for a way to use such tools in WordPress for Rapid Application Development. For instance to create tables with various relationships and display them flexibly, to edit these records with flexibly built normal or parent child forms, have conditions, actions, calculated fields, etc. Until now I have found parts only. Any ideas, tips? Maybe Bricks Props can evolve this in cooperation with Bricks Forge?
Thank you. Yes I have bought the license for wpDataTables and WP Data Access. The first one comes close but it is not possible, with out custom coding, to utilize it in a way to have a record with sub records, e.g. master detail records. You can think of an order record displaying one or more related records from tables like order detail rows.
This is very nice... I would like a few headers and footers that I can easily create using the Paterns and apply styles to, and then just save as Bricks templates
Does OxyProps work with other CSS frameworks like ACSS and Core Framework? Is it compatible with ACSS and Core Framework? Can we use OxyProps only easy editing of HTML Elements? Is OxyProps also a framework like ACSS and Core Framework?
OxyProps includes a full CSS framework, so I would not recommend to use it together with acss or core. But Structeezy focuses only on structure building, and can work with oxyprops, acss, core, or anything else.
Great job! And I see you care about good semantic and accessibility, which is really attractive... I have bought it a couple of months ago, but put it aside in favor to ACSS because of the lack of documentation... It is really tempting to go back to it now...! I prefer using variables instead of classes, the other reason why I chose ACSS... but we'll see, as this new right-click on the structure panel is a time saver.
Hi Nelmedia, You says you choose ACSS because you prefer variables !? Well, I really have to work on documentation and tutorials, because OxyProps is CSS variables before all. It was inspired, and uses, Open Props, which is an advanced CSS Variables library. The context menus in the editor were build originally to inject CSS variables in the editor fields. Then came the utility class menus, then the structure. All my elements and utility classes make extensive use of CSS variables. So, if you like CSS variables, give another try.
There is no Bricks specifics plugin. OxyProps works with both Oxygen and Bricks. When you use it on a WordPress site with Bricks, it will use the BricksProps name.
