false cord scream vocal coach reacts
i’m not the best at explaining how i do vocals. but i am open to talking with you. i appreciate the kind words. this was a cool video to watch.
respect
you absolutely crushed it man holy shit BLEEEGGHHHHH
the legend himself!
Darius Tehrani I’ve told you this every time I’ve ever got to talk with you. Best in the game. SPITE CULT 💀
Thanks for watching man! Would be great to chat sometime!
Hey Darius. Alex here, I'm the goblin that keeps the trains running. If you wouldn't mind shooting us an email at kardavox1010@gmail.com - we can have a little chat and get the ball rolling on doing something cool together. Thanks! - Alex
Honestly, react to Spite because he has so many different types of vocals
He definitely should
Nah
He has on livestream
@@wollsmoth69 Where? Are these patreon only?
Yeah the range is ridiculous but I think nothing is beautiful whole tape would be a good album for showin that off.
This song doesn't even captivate his bread and butter. His mid range harcore yell screams are his staple. Please react to IED, Reign in Hell, or Kill or be Killed. IED is definitely his best work.
“Root of all evil” would be my personal pick
His weird yells are so bad
Yeah. I get thst
@@tevildo9383 he reacted to The Root Of All Evil on a live stream
Bruh agreed!! IED or Kill or Be Killed for SURE!! Best work!
If everyone went about life the way Mark goes about vocal reactions, the world would be a much better place.
Haha much love, man :)
This dude has some of the most serious energy in the game. So fucking good.
His signature "yell" is what made me obsessed with Spite and really caught y attention. It's super unique.
As a linguist myself, extreme metal vocalists - especially deathcore vocalists - are fascinating. I'm glad I found a vocalist/vocal coach that really understands what is going on and knows how to transmit it. Btw, I'm proselytizing Kardashev among my friends.
Right?! There's so much going on with the way deathcore vocals mess with vowels. I'd love to get a scream on a spectrogram, but I'm not sure how well it would translate. And thanks for spreading the KSHEV love!
Love this. He’s so good. That “falsetto scream” is alllll over Spite material. It’s what makes them and him super unique imo.
this was the first time i'd ever heard him, and in this video where he was very separated from the music, I absolutely hated it. But then i went and checked out their music and it sounds so killer when its properly integrated in the mix.
Never mention "falsetto screams" in the screaming subreddit, they'll eat you alive for it
Saying that, I love that shit
He is one of the vocalists whose screams are audible live without a mic
this was so sick. would love to see more about Darius!
Oh shit you're here? Love your stuff
I've been listening to spite for years and his "yell" your talking about is his signature in my opinion. He dose it in most of his songs. This song I think he used to show off his wide variety of vocals he could proform. If you want to listen to some good songs, listen to digging pt 1/2. Reign in hell, ied, kill or be killed. That's a good start.
That's exactly what I said when watching him react to that vocal ..."that's his signature!" Spite fans know 🖤
They are the best thing about his vocals. But i feel he didn't do them much in The Root of All Evil.
I saw Darius live and I’ve never been so hyped. He really knows how to get people going. And is just huge on stage. Then met him in the crowd and he couldn’t have been nicer :P
He's such a fuckin animal on stage...just completely transforms. Definitely my fave vocalist
Darius has soooo many different types of vocals it's insane tbh.
Darius is def gonna run deathcore pretty soon, I think he just needs a few more years
He’s so fn good live. Spite rules.
Check out “Despise” if you’re gonna check him out again.
Spite cult mfs
Wait a god damn second my guy, you play warhammer? I see that Treelord Ancient in the background just chilling, let me see your painting dude!
I only paint, I'd love to play but just don't have the time. Maybe I'll add a pic of some of my painting in my next video! I'm definitely not a pro, but I think I do an alright job.
Waiting for this too! Love Darius vocals. What about Acrania? We need some :V
Luke Griffin the pig man himself. We need an analysis of the breees
SEND THEM TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Manne VL THE NEWS ANCHOR SQUEEEEEALS
Exterminate the Liberated!!!
We got Acrania, guys, finally!
I study linguistics and like deathcore vocals so this is like heaven for me. Also you explain vowels better than my phonetics instructor, always enjoy watching your videos *thumbs up emoji*
Thanks man, that's huge praise!
Darius' unique falsetto scream is the thing I absolutely love about him. When I saw this original cover he did, I remember not being that excited about a song since the Holy War album from TAIM. Awesome video bud. Thanks for all the tips and helpful info.
You really should interview Darius
Would love to see a Tyler Shelton reaction video(Traitors or something hes featured on, Infant annihilator comes to mind he killed that track), he has a very similar falsetto type scream that's like voice and scream simultaneously
YOOOO REACH OUT TO DARIUS!!!! Everyone let’s get a like podcast or something going with these two
darius’s vocal style in spite is wayyyy better than him trying to imitate others imo
For me, the best cover of Unanswered is from Luke Griffin (Acrania) check it out.
Greetings from Costa Rica!
That's his signature bro. He wouldn't be hurting. He would have mastered that style before doing it so much in his music
I'm stoked to finally see you got some of the man in here. Definitely need to review some of his bands actual music, but, thank you for the content on top of that my man
Awesome video as always man. And thank you so much for the feature, really appreciate it!
I was just about to message you and let you know! Haha ya beat me to it! You're a beast :D
His “falsetto scream” really grows on you. As far as I can tell, all he’s doing is contracting his diaphragm and opening his throat with minimal chord closure. It’s sort of like yelling from your chest. I could be way off on that but that what it feels like to me.
Much love from Australia 🇦🇺
Spite is the most unique and "pure" band of their type I've heard in 20 years. His vocals are as rare as a unicorn. An all black unicorn, covered in blood.
Spite Cult. Keep metal filthy.
I'm so obsessed with them 😭 and I love your description. And it's cool that you can't really peg them into a subgenre... hardcore? Not quite. Deathcore? Nah. They're just refreshing and they do all the things in metal that I love. Plus Darius is a maniac.
Yeeeeeeeees Darius is my long time inspiration as a frontman and vocalist. MAN have i been waiting for a video about him.
Was waiting for Darius to pop up, awesome!
I’m sooo glad you reacted to this he’s one of my favorite vocalist and if you could like Skype with him or have a sit down with him that would be sooo awesome ☺️🤘🏻
We agree, that'd be awesome! - Alex
He has one of the most distinguishable vocals in metal. Check out kill or be killed. IED. pleasure soemthing i forgot also his yell you u was unsure about is one of his signature yells if you hear spite youll like it
It's sooo beautiful seeing this. My old band played a bunch shows with Darius's old band and with the other spite guys back in the day and it's sooo awesome seeing how big him and the spite guys have gotten. Super proud of them.
I love this video from Mark for his reactions. I have watched alot of kardavox academy videos but i love his reactions to darius vocals. lmao i react the same way when i hear darius every time lol
FINALLY! Darius is such a beast.
"I'm not that familiar with Darius Terhani"
Me: "..how DARE YOU"
Viraemia is one of my all time favorite bands. Wish you guys made more music, but the shit you made is some of the best ever!
I’ve probably watched this one at least 10x. I love your insightful commentary and overall excitement on these vocals Mark!
Thanks dude, glad to hear it!
Kardavox Academy would like some vocal lessons in the future. Please direct me to where I need to go to make that happen!
@@cognitivedisruption5375 Would love to have you in the classroom! Send us an email at kardavox1010@gmail.com and we'll give you the details :D
I would love for you to do some explanation of Sam Carter from Architects. He has great projection. But what I really want to hear you talk about are his pitched screams. He gets an insane amount of pitch into his distortion and I just can't seem to figure it out to that level. Their live footage from Alexandira Palace would have some good content Doomsday or Gone with the Wind.
15:30 Probably one of the best advice you can give someone.
Agreed, thank you!
One of the most informative videos you’ve put out man...watched it several times. Agreed that deathcore vocalists are airbenders. Thank you for inspiring me to continue metal vocals 🤘
Got to see this man twice live. He absolutely destroyed it. Got to meet him, such a cool dude. He's a great frontman in the deathcore scene. Really gets into the music
Tnx for this awesome reaction, Darius he's actually from Iran and I'm proud of him 🤘❤️
He is amazing live. Seen him back in march in frederick MD. Fuckin killed it. Definitely check him out. What amazed me. I got to meet him before the show and he is so soft spoken just talking to him.
Saw Spite at a Metal fest in Milwaukee a while back and as soon as they came out the energy in the room exploded! Fucking kick ass show! 🤘
I’ve been wanting this video for SO LONG YESSSSS
Ive never been into deathcore but thanks to this video i have just discovered spite and its owesome. Cant stop listening! Thats what i was looking for. Cheers folks!!
Happy to hear that!
@@KardavoxAcademy
I can see some diferences between europe and US in bands. In US deathcore is well known over there, here in europe.... less, or nu metal.
I love these chunky heavy breakdown guitars like spite. I was more into grindcore like birdflesh, pornogrind like rompeprop, etc all very romantic
Ill give you a present: sojouner, folk, black, melodic, female vocals, really epic. I hope u enjoy it. I love it!!!!
th-cam.com/video/LtNCPWp4_xo/w-d-xo.html
I love your videos dude!!!!
Seen them live at a tiny venue in Kansas, I was literally 3 feet away from the stage and him staring into my soul while hearing his gutterals made me moister than an oyster
Darius did this to make it his personal tribute. Go listen to Spite. You’ll hear a lot of his falsetto screaming. He’s damn good
Honestly Ive been listening to spite for a good while and imitating that shrill yell that he does. There's is a way to do it safely. It's more like a bellowing scream, it's hard to explain thoroughly because I don't 100% understand it myself. But it doesnt ever hurt when I do it and it doesn't fatigue my throat.
Saw Darius live before, he's INCREDIBLE. Shakes the fucking room.
Dariuses “falsetto” scream is his staple, and I personally love it. He’s sick, and I think you may have a bit of the ‘tism bro
Got your hands full with This one 😂
There's definitely a lot to talk about! Could have easily done a two-hour video on this.
Kardavox Academy no doubt and I’d stay watching! Love this content man you’re the top vocal coach I know keep spitting out fire 🔥
@@KardavoxAcademy Please revisit Darius’s band Spites new stuff caved in or made to please absolutely a good one to talk us through! Hope the fam is good and ready to welcome another 🤟🏼
damn i just watched this like a week and a half ago because i want to play this song live! i needed some comparison to see what other people are doing and my fry screams especially the highs sound like this, rlly cool video
Love how excited this guy gets over different vocal styles 😂😂😂
how did I miss this episode. I've been requesting spite for a while and I did not know this episode happened
New to your channel and have watched a few videos. You do a very good job breaking vocals down! Also no offense and I'm sure you've heard it before, but you dont look like your would be a metal vocalist and it caught me off guard the first time lol. Mad props to you and your videos!
Killer cover! Not sure if you have watched it but an unsung hero of covers, both vocally and musically is Fikth. The vocalist Dustin Mitchell did a few covers Unanswered being one of them and OOOOFT DOES IT SLAP
Videos containig some hints of D&D, MtG and Warhammer stuff, huh, gotta love u (yay i saw those tiny citadel paint pots)
Would love to see you doing interviews with different vocalists about techniques! Keep up the great work; love the videos
We would love to do something like that! Stay tuned! ;)
An interview with him would be siickkkkk
I have to ask brother what's going on with Viraemia??? I've been listening to you guys since 2010 and I'm so pumped for more new material! Glioblastoma was absolutely nuts!
Glad you liked it! Josh is a nurse working in the Covid unit here in AZ so he's has been so slammed recently. He's also pushing for better working environments for healthcare workers so there just hasn't been much time for writing unfortunately :/
I’ve been doing vocals for around 12 years. Wouldn’t say I’m a pro by any means but I’d say I’m fairly decent. As far as damaging your vocal cords by using “improper”. technique I feel is very rare. I’ve had 0 “professional” training and I’ve never once had any problems hurting my vocal cords. Maybe a slight sore throat if I do a lot of screaming in one day but nothing serious.
Hey Mark, great job! May I request reacting to Amon Amarth at some point. I really want to watch you explain his technique.
I wasn’t a fan of his yell scream thing at all when I first heard of them but it just carries a different power and emotion than any other kind of vocal in my opinion
The anger in it without it having to be a disgusting low is what gets me tbh
When I saw spite live on the chaos and carnage tour last year and during sound check, their guitarist was playing disengage and this song I was like 🤤🤤
so the original version of this song was soooo goood (RIP Mitch), but i gotta love all the covers it spawned , Luke G does an amazing cover on his YT channel, this one is really good as well, very original take and he makes it his own/// loved learning and hearing all you had to say about the vocals, great video!
It do be time for me to keep requesting Rheese Peters. The Senate - The Bloated One
He does a lot of hardcore yell vocals which he did in this song
Schadow of Intent!!!!!
WE NEED MORE SPITE REACTS
Okay, I'll get on that!
Great video. Awesome Advice
Would love if you could interview him somehow.
Me here watching your videos with 100% honesty and dedication but can't even do what you did at 6:46
Darius is a fucking lord. ABOUT FUCKING TIME
Omg that's sick! 💪💪
Spite - despise won’t disappoint you
Great video, the only thing I can think about right now is your student at the end. Is that a cover of a Jake Hill song? I would love to see you watch one of his videos. He blends rap and metal better than anyone else.
His high clean scream is the 8th wonder of ther world.
4:00 that were some Dickie Allen highs :D
This is the best cover of all time.
That scream you were talking about that's the vocals he uses in his band for the most part
he and the guy from To The Grave are by far the most versatile vocalists in modern deathcore
Alex terrible also covered this. Really one of the first videos that show he can get high. And he counters Mitch’s tone that makes it insane.
He’s so fucking good. I had never heard of spite before, but I ended up seeing them at a show in San Francisco. It was easily the best show I’ve ever been too. He’s got such a stage presence. It was so high energy, and just rowdy. I dislocated my shoulder, sprained my wrist. One of my homies got knocked out. Spite brings it. If you’re gonna check them out again I would recommend either the root of all evil or kill or be killed.
Love to hear him unedited.
Not sure where else to ask this. But I'd love to hear your thoughts on silent planet. Loving the content guy. Good work.
Thanks bro, Silent Planet are great!
Can we PLEASE get some Papa Trev and Black Dahlia. maybe some classics like Statutory Ape or any of the new stuff honestly. DYING FOR IT
not only are his vocals insane, he’s got one of the dopest stage presences in the hxc game lol
Definitely need to do another video on him oooofffff. Darius just hits that perfect spot in his vocals that fall between anguish and rip your fucking face off. Definitely should coverone of spites originals though
Itd be awesome if you posted a video of you guys video chatting. But definitely listen to everyone else here and check out Spite and do a video on that. My favorite song is Self-Destruct or anything on that album.
I just saw Spite play, a few weeks ago, for the first time. This dude sounds so fucking good live. His mid-range is so fucking unique. His vocals didn’t once alter or sound fucked. You should do a second video of Dairus.
I would love to have Darius on the channel!
A song that'd be worth checking out would be Merry Axe-Mas by Ice Nine Kills from their album, The Silver Scream. Their vocalist generally sticks to metalcore vocals but in that particular song, he incorporates some vocals similar to Dickie Allen's during the breakdown.
The mid range screams is the fucking shit about this guy tho, fucking love that sound, so fucking raw
I wish I could go to your classes
Literally just found out his name!
My man's Iranian!
PogChamp
What’s even more insane about this.... is he is even like 5x better than this video... dude improved so much especially live need a reaction of “the offering” by spite
Great video as always mark! Would love to hear your reaction to foundation of bones by enterprise earth!
Me: I need to do something about my filthy mind
