I try to imagine the last hand that touched each of the lost finds.---The lid inside that compact could very well have held a small rouge pad. And most likely a mirror on the upper lid. I can't imagine what would have filled that circular hole, unless it was a finger chain?

If there is four pegs, it's from a mandolin (mandolins have eight strings, four pegs on each side). If three, probably a guitar tuning peg mount.

Fields can be hard to dig due to farm chemicals. Anhydrous causes that.
