Thanks a ton for the kind and comprehensive answers, Rob... much appreciate your time.
I found a number of audio taper, 500K Ohms pots on Amazon, but I am not sure if they are suitable. Here are a couple of them:
Is short shaft what we are looking for (threaded bushing is 3/8" tall X 3/8" diameter)? Or a different shaft length?
I would love to add a tone control, as you did, but I am afraid of the complexity of the additional wiring with the condenser/resistor and the space limitation you described.
Just in case I take that leap 😊, do these two components, the stacked pot and resistor seem suitable to you?:
I was going to order some nut sauce, but I will try the graphite/vaseline mix first, as per your kind advice.
I also ordered locking tuners (did you know that TG makes them, in 3 finish options)? I think with these, no modification of using a screw to install them is required. Will see when I receive them and report back.
    I much appreciate your help.
Is this YT comment section the best channel to chat with you? If not, and you prefer some other, would you kindly share that with me?
I have a couple of further improvement ideas for this guitar, including one for the bag 😊... let me know if interested and I will share the thoughts.
I own 19 different guitars and loads of gadgets, many of them with travel convenience in mind... happy to share if interested.

Hey Rob, great video and thanks for sharing. Do you think that the pod you used for the new pickup will work well with the original one too? I have 3 other TG models and they all suffer from the same design flaw, it seems. Would you be kind to share the pod model/specs/source?
What lube did you use for the rollers and did it really improve anything in tuning stability? I cannot understand the physics of why lubing those pieces helps...
    Many thanks in advance.

      Sorry, pot, not pod 🤭

@@cristiansucu4450 it's either 500k or 250k ohms on the pot, I can't recall which! It's probably labelled on the existing pot, or you could use an ohm meter on the existing pot! The main thing is to replace it with an audio taper. As for the lube, I used guitar nut lube (there are several on the market). You could also try graphite from a pencil mixed with vaseline. I'll probably try that next, as the solution I've got isn't perfect! WRT the physics, it's all about sticking! A pulley with some friction can cause tension on one side of the pulley to be different from the other, until it slips and equalizes!

Hi Rob, I have been trying to write back to you in the little thread we started in these comments and for reasons I don't understand the text seems to be added and then it disappears after 1 minute or so 🫤. I will try to send it as a new comment, hope that's fine with you.

My message had some Amazon links examples and my email address... maybe these are the reasons why it doesn't get posted? I removed those and trying again...

@@cristiansucu4450 yeah, I think TH-cam doesn't let you share external links or email addresses in comments.
