      That's so great! I just got my dad's old A going again. Even better when they have a family history with them.

    Sounds awesome, I tried starting my 39 B this past winter and I couldn't get it to go. Maybe next winter I'll try again lol

      It was just one of those things I had to try 😂

    From are view outside the rear tire the fly wheel look like it is turning backwards.

    I noticed that your throttle lever on your carb is way steadier than mine, I think I need to do some adjustments. I have an occasional backfire at idle to.

      It does bounce more than it should, the governor is very wore. One of these years I’ll restore the whole thing, replace and bush all the wore parts.

    Sounds good

    That looks dangerous all around. Reckon anybody ever got wrapped up in the flywheel?

    • @crazydave4455
      @crazydave4455  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In general yes, but not in this particular b (at least in the history I’m told) The spoke flywheels were more dangerous, easier to get caught in. This isn’t really too bad, I feel it’s safer than a crank start. There are finger grips on the back of the flywheel. Keep your thumbs up and loose clothes away, pay attention to what you’re doing and all is well 👍

    I'm impressed, looks like you've got a new or rebuilt carburetor on it and some other painted pieces, looks good 👍

      Jon Miller Yep. Fresh correct green paint means functionally restored/repaired parts, carb, brakes, shutters etc. Its a well used original 35, it will get a full restoration some day!

    Impressive, considering there was 30 weight oil in the tractor!

      Tom Donelson had to try, see what it was like dealing with a hand start in the winter. It's due for a rebuild. lot of worn parts.

    Probably the only time it has any compression. Due to the thick oil. I had a 36 McCormick Deering F-12 that would in below zero temps start on the first crank. Warm it up and you could crank until your arm fell off. No compression when the oil thinned. Nice tractor though. Fun stuff to play with.

      Raven Feather it is definitely wore out, some day it will get a full restoration. Have to keep those legends alive!

      crazydave4455 please don’t paint it, it’s still got original paint

      Myhren Myhren I love original!, but this old girl needs some repairs that require stripping, patches, welding etc. Frame has been brazed, shift pedistal brazed etc. Looks like it has been rolled over, so it depends and what my replacement parts look like as well.
