I actually think, this is the world cup the wallabies get knocked out of. Wales finally knocked the monkey of their back by beating us, and fiji have a bit of super rugby and some continuity. I actually would still be picking Genia at 9 though...

I'm Kashmiri born British and I enjoy the Rugby World Cup. Infinity times better than Cricket World Cup. Cricket World Cup will clash with RWC this year. RWC will always beat the CWC tournament!
The Wallabies don't deserve to be world champions, it would make a mockery of the whole thing. France and Ireland are streets ahead and as a Kiwi I have no problem with either of those 2 teams winning it. I think the ABs are a chance but the consistency of France and Ireland in this RWC cycle makes them more deserving.
All I can say is this ... come world cup time whatever has happened in the last 4 years has NO bearing on this world cup! However I will say this: a) I think the teams that could win the world cup at the moment are Ireland France South Africa b) the All Blacks have the players but not the game to win the cup c) Wallabies have Eddie Jones - this will be interesting d) whoever wins the toughest pool generally tends to makes the final e) teams to watch are Scotland, Italy and Fiji Pls note I am basing my reasons on what I am seeing with their game plans which can be reflected in their results! What has happened in the past has no real bearing!
France, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia in that order are my top contenders to win. England will be better than expected. This tournament will be a bridge too far for South Africa.
I respect both of them a lot (as much as a South African can respect an Aussie), but they got that last pool horribly wrong. No matter how average England have been in recent months, they're topping that pool for sure. Japan and Argentina will battle it out for second, and I reckon the Argies just have too much muscle for the Japanese. But I do agree that Aus are a dark horse for this tournament. And I believe the winner will be one of NZ, SA or Aus.
It's true that a few rwc Ireland peaked one year before, but i think those years most people agreed there was a gap between NH and SH regarding chances of winning the rwc
Loved listening to these guys. Mostly agreed with their picks, except for writing England off that's just silly. For me it's England and who is going through in that group. I love Argentina but surely it's Japan
Wallabies dont have the personnel nor BMT to win both the semi finals and finals - even if facing under dogs in final. France are clear favorites, and Ireland are 2nd option for Northern Country to claim the RWC. Failing that, Boks will be hard to beat in A final. NZ 2nd Option for Southern Country to claim the RWC. In my books, this should be the most balanced and competitive RWC in history.
Good to see these two having a chinwag Australia are Dark Horses that’s for Sure, Semi Finals at least. Not sure where I place England, they have a decent record at the Pool level against Argentina, but the backline really is lacking that X factor and the Pumas have upped their game. I could see England have a quarter final loss against Australia, Jones will be waiting for England. Ireland is still the unknown entity, after such a superb 12 months, They could face France in the quarter finals and that could be where a usually slow starting France kick into life. New Zealand vs Australia, France vs Argentina semi finals
This is one of the few times I've enjoyed listening to rugby players talk about rugby, they often use a ton of clichés and don't offer any new insights, these 2 do, mainly will genia except his take on SA I feel like they will underperform and could get knocked off by Scotland
Dave Rennie was building some nicely that sadly he was often hampered by injuries. They need Quade's direction back at 10 but if healthy they have an easy draw and could easily win the whole thing. Eddie now gets too take over and possibly get the glory, he's a born winner they've definitely got a strong shot
Must not have been paying attention, they were a few minutes away from beating ireland and france, 30 seconds away from beating nz. Team is much better now, eddie brings something special. Aus have an easy run to the semis, so its basically two wins away
@@enterpassword3313 ... but still lost dude. Close to beating the ABs, then followed up with a drubbing the following week in Auckland. I'd be surprised if they get to the final much less win it. They haven't proven to be a consistent performer for years.
Would love to see Japan knock off England or Argentina, but realistically can't see it happening, as both are physically imposing, have strong set pieces and good kicking games.
Aus got the easiest draw to finals. NZ to be the most dangerous on the other side. Ireland maybe too early (again) and France only need ONE bad game on the run to fall off. SA will start slow and come rumbling through!
look, they said that about England when Jones was incharge, and look what happen?? they focused too much on beating the ABs and doing the same again with the wallabies, Aust could make the semis!!! never underestimate the ABs.
From a Kiwi. France a chance, Ireland never been in a final and high expectations wont make it but Australia is my pick. After all its there turn. heart says France as they deserve it not being successful in finals before
Disagree with their summary on England. The English team have a great chance to make the semi final at least, relatively easy warm up games to hone their strategy while NZ, France, Ire and SA batter each other probably picking up some injuries along the way.
Absolutely deluded opinion on display. First of all everyone writing off England are just dumb. They’re still the best team in that group by some way and most their players are still fro, the same team that got to the final, they just have to turn up as a team and improve their tactics and performance in the couple of months they have before the tournament. There is no way Japan top that group and they won’t get out of it, they’ve not got home support this time. The Aussies will get out that group but then it’s 50/50 from there against England or Argentina. Wales should just about have enough to do it but Fiji and Georgia both have the potential to upset. People saying that’s an easy pool, no that’s the hardest pool of 5. Obviously pool B is harder to get out with that top 3 but pool C is the hardest including all 5 teams because Fiji and Georgia are also very good and Portugal have a great attack, their style of play will surprise lots of fans and teams. Scotland have no chance getting out. Ireland should be top but no guarantee. Italy will push one of nz or France close but should still be France and nz to go through, probably France with that home advantage and current form, and that first game will be one hell of a spectacle, probably the best opening game of a World Cup of all time. And the whole tournament in France is just going to be amazing
@@Trajan2401 in a nothing game where Eddie jones tests things and keeps things back before the World Cup. I have no doubt at all that England will beat Argentina
It is too early to make a call on the winner of the RWC. The upcoming Championship Cup will reveal whether the Wallabies have any realistic chance of winning the RWC and indicate the relative strength of the Boks and AB's. It is still a long way to the RWC 2023 final. Injuries, form of players, yellow and red cards and decisions of referees will have a major outcome on who wins the RWC.
Guys, if you saw the Australian Super teams in the last two weeks of that competition there is no way Australia can win the RWC. The best team, the Brumbies, had no answer to the Chiefs at all. However, a lucky draw may get the Wallabies to the semis.

Aus rank 7th. Only an Aus: I think we'll win it. The Aus arrogance always amazes me. But if there ever was an 'easy' WC for arrogant/underperforming Aus or Eng to take, it's this one. The pool draw already casts a dark shadow on this tournament, lets hope it doesn't become a permanent entry in the history books.
As mush as I agree Australia have a very easy route to the semi-finals with minimal attrition v group A and the death group B, the cards are stacked in their favor. But only a fool would right off England pulling a much better performing team together. It has to be the most stupid draw I have ever seen.
The SH teams did not mind that to win the world cup in 2019 England would have had to beat Argentina them France than Australia then New Zealand then South Africa one after the other. Swings and roundabouts.
They will make it to the final. Easy run till the Semi Final & that Semi Finalist will be exhausted from playing so many top 5 teams. Pool A & Pool B are maybe favourites to win but constantly playing top competition always exhausts a team.
The old nugget of Ireland always peeking early. Or Ireland underperforms in world cups... They peeked in 2018. Joe Schmidt, due to personal reasons, took his eye off the ball, and the team stagnated in 2019, culminating in a defeat to Japan. 2015 Ireland lost to Argentina after been shorn of 7 of their best players after winning against France. However, in 2013, they finished last in the 6 nations. Hardly peeking early. In 2011 we beat Australia but lost to a better Wales team in the quarters. That Wales team went on to win grand slams. In 2007, Ireland was overrated. They hadn't won a 6 nations, and they were considered contenders. They DID underperform as they failed to get past the pool stage. 1987-2003, Ireland were nowhere in the 6/5 nations, so to say that they underperformed is not correct. They weren't good enough.
I’ll be praying South Africa smash this overhyped Ireland team, or Ireland go out in quarters as they usually have done in past. Australia and New Zealand could surprise people

the 4 best ranked teams on the other side of the draw will beat each other up...!
Auzzie always go well at World Cups. Written off, I think they will make the semis or event the final.

@@Trajan2401lol you think union is global. Its number 1 in 2 countries and 99% of the globe wouldn't be able to locate them on a map
That's some great analysis. Every pool looks tough and that's what you want in a tournament. This could be the greatest RWC ever,
How the heck they decide to have the top 4 ranked sides on the same side of a pool. Oz gets dream draw . Pathetic.
I actually think, this is the world cup the wallabies get knocked out of. Wales finally knocked the monkey of their back by beating us, and fiji have a bit of super rugby and some continuity.
I actually would still be picking Genia at 9 though...
Didn't Wales beat Australia in the last world cup?
This may be a unpopular opinion but I think South Africa are underdogs because people usually bet against World champions retaining but I still hope the Bokke win!
Edit: When I orginally posted on here there was a All Blacks fan who absolutely hated on me but his comments are deleted. Life feels good now😂
I like Sth Africa. I am a kiwi.
I agree with you!! Also keep in mind that AUS and NZ havent'y played much against the Bokke. You also have great players returning from their EU teams like Cheslin and RG.
I don’t think SA are underdogs at all.
Always great craic, listening to these two legends
Good conversation. As a French, I know the support is going to be huge for our team. We trust them and love them, that's about how well prepared as we've been through all previous WCs. Can't wait, for us to finally remove this sticky monkey off our shoulders. Galthié is an amazing squad skipper.
France have the best player in the world, they are a very good chance. Will go for the Wallabies but happy to see France or Ireland win.
@@tallaganda83 what s great about our team is the strong bound between them. Band of brothers off the pitch , it surely fuels their togetherness on it.
This is to me our best asset and a rare thing to get in collective sport
Good luck to France

Fiji tops the pool and Aus 2nd. Will be a blady great game. What a time to be alive
Fiji aren't topping anything. Even a shit show like Wales can outlast this Fijian team who can only play for 60 minutes.
I hope France win, I do think they've got more up their sleeve. Incredible depth in the squad too, home world cup as well. Surely this is the time? But yeah, totally unpredictable, there's going to be some upsets. Can't wait
I'm Kashmiri born British and I enjoy the Rugby World Cup. Infinity times better than Cricket World Cup. Cricket World Cup will clash with RWC this year. RWC will always beat the CWC tournament!
@Trajan2401 Well, we have to wait and see.
Go The All Blacks!💪👍👊🖤🖤🖤🤩
The ABs if they play to their strengths and dont go into their shell will be a match for anyone
They still have Fozzie as coach. The fly in the ointment.
All Blacks brings the Webb Ellis trophy home.
However I will say this:
a) I think the teams that could win the world cup at the moment are
Ireland
France
South Africa
b) the All Blacks have the players but not the game to win the cup
c) Wallabies have Eddie Jones - this will be interesting
d) whoever wins the toughest pool generally tends to makes the final
e) teams to watch are Scotland, Italy and Fiji
Pls note I am basing my reasons on what I am seeing with their game plans which can be reflected in their results! What has happened in the past has no real bearing!
Dreaming! As nz said to George gregan four more years on 2011 & 2015
France, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia in that order are my top contenders to win. England will be better than expected. This tournament will be a bridge too far for South Africa.
@Trajan2401 no I stand by my prediction. One week is a long time in rugby, let alone 2 months.
This aged out nice😂
I respect both of them a lot (as much as a South African can respect an Aussie), but they got that last pool horribly wrong. No matter how average England have been in recent months, they're topping that pool for sure. Japan and Argentina will battle it out for second, and I reckon the Argies just have too much muscle for the Japanese. But I do agree that Aus are a dark horse for this tournament. And I believe the winner will be one of NZ, SA or Aus.
Whose here after the Australia vs Fiji game
It's true that a few rwc Ireland peaked one year before, but i think those years most people agreed there was a gap between NH and SH regarding chances of winning the rwc
@@Trajan2401 yeah...but that was yesterday...and even then...bookies were giving AB like a 50% chance
Agreed, they'll be the surprise package. France, SA, and Aus all in with a big shout.
Loved listening to these guys. Mostly agreed with their picks, except for writing England off that's just silly. For me it's England and who is going through in that group. I love Argentina but surely it's Japan
You need to back it up.
Allbkacks. But yer fiji are dam good.
Yep this makes sense
Anyone know what brand Genias tshirt is?!?
Leinster is playing very well, but their trophy cabinet is empty. Can you play well is not the same as can you win cups and trophies.
this aged well.......................
Good to see these two having a chinwag
Australia are Dark Horses that’s for Sure, Semi Finals at least.
My pick is South Africa France Qf2 which has my next picks as Wallabies v South Africa in Sf1 and England v Nz in SF2
This is one of the few times I've enjoyed listening to rugby players talk about rugby, they often use a ton of clichés and don't offer any new insights, these 2 do, mainly will genia except his take on SA I feel like they will underperform and could get knocked off by Scotland
Damn guys, Wobblies to win? .... sheeesh
I look forward to returning to this thread
@@enterpassword3313 ... but still lost dude. Close to beating the ABs, then followed up with a drubbing the following week in Auckland. I'd be surprised if they get to the final much less win it. They haven't proven to be a consistent performer for years.
Bro you're a kiwi, you're opinion means nothing
I've said it before, the winner of NZ and France wins the WC. If i HAD to choose, I'd go NZ vs Australian final, and NZ win it.
@@Trajan2401 I never go on what happened before. But ja, just a call.
Go Fiji 🇫🇯 🇫🇯
Fiji one 😂
Time will tell lack of injury will come out head up mind contest will be the biggest blow with super boot is the super hero
From a Kiwi. France a chance, Ireland never been in a final and high expectations wont make it but Australia is my pick. After all its there turn. heart says France as they deserve it not being successful in finals before

Love it when wales are ignored.... semi finals ...at least......again...😊
Disagree with their summary on England. The English team have a great chance to make the semi final at least, relatively easy warm up games to hone their strategy while NZ, France, Ire and SA batter each other probably picking up some injuries along the way.
@@Trajan2401 with the standard since writing that, possibly not.
WOW. FRANCE. VS. ALL BLACKS. 2023. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gits loves the word “Super” 😂
could not see anything explosive about it, but seeing England come third in their group would be pretty funny
I only support two international teams...The All Blacks and any team playing South Africa....
Fiji will upset the Aussie in the pool play
Ireland in the final .i could die a vary happy man .🙏🙏
Hoping for an Aus vs Book Final

Good yarn! Good World Cup coming!
Oz under Eddy Jones in his 2nd stint & favourable draw to make at least to the final
I been a fan of the Wallabies from my younger days until now and I believe that the Wallabies will pull a surprise in the world cup.
I don't
You were right. It was a surprise.
Guys, if you saw the Australian Super teams in the last two weeks of that competition there is no way Australia can win the RWC. The best team, the Brumbies, had no answer to the Chiefs at all. However, a lucky draw may get the Wallabies to the semis.
France,NZ,Ireland..
Australia: Rugby as England:Football . Guys i wish you the best but yesterday i saw a bad match against boks in Pretoria, anyway good luck Wallabies
Wallabies at the world cup, anything can happen. I wouldnt count out any of the tier one sides bar wales, Italy or scotland (sorry Scotland)
Totally agree lads, Aus going to cause wreck on their side of the draw. Irl fan here so Iam going Irl on the other IIIIfffffff they can break their 1/4 final duck. :)

One of the European Teams HAVE TO WIN THIS TIME. It has been 20 YRS since, BUT NOW better THEY are on HOME GROUND...BUT... THEY ALL have the same mental barrier, of TRYING to BEAT THE BEST in their Sport.
YOU CAN'T FORGET THE ALL BLACKS
Genia’s sleeping on Ireland
Pumas will top the group and reach the semi final👏🏾
Group A and B will be controversial fights with referees and TMO so anyone of those big 4 will survive …. It’s a dice roll

Just go for oz. Ha there good. But nz time now
Feels nice to be underdogs finally. Also watch out for aussies with the 2 year Eddie affect. If boks don’t win; watch out for ref bashing.
As a Kiwi if NZ doesn’t do well which I hope that’s not the case I’d want the Wallabies to win the entire thing.
Your not a kiwi
Lol short memories. If the ref had red carded hodge last time for taking out fijis best player fiji would have beaten the wobblies no question
'I'm constantly against England'. That's the Frenchie in you.
Would love to see England out in the group stages.
They will make it to the final. Easy run till the Semi Final & that Semi Finalist will be exhausted from playing so many top 5 teams. Pool A & Pool B are maybe favourites to win but constantly playing top competition always exhausts a team.
If you've watched Super Rugby this year, you will know that Australia hasn't got a hope in hell.
Can't compare club rugby to test rugby
@Trajan2401 how right you are...
@@dirkloots548see they nearly beat NZ
"chek u know i love you" hahahahahaha classic
Australia and New Zealand could surprise people
Quade cooper has Bernard Foley covered.Don't pick Foley.Cooper and Carter Gordon in the 10 position.
Really can't picture Australia advancing past the Quarters, it would be hard for them surviving their pool 😂
Not sure England and Wales are very poor at the moment
Turns out you were right
Aussie have a tough pool, they have to make it out of it first.
Aussie have the easiest pool.
