It's a very good level, but some parts are hard, at least if you're me as a child. The levitator was weird to use, and the gravity-boots section was a pain, but nowadays it's quite easy
I loved this level, it felt like the culmination of everything you've learned so far utilizing almost every gadget you've unlocked and putting you into a variety of situations that really demands you go through your entire arsenal. On top of that, the difficulty was through the roof ( and maybe scaling the side of a building ).
@@Chico50445 I would have to disagree with you there. The only soundtracks I liked from going commando is this one and maktar nebula boss theme. Bcuz they sound almost as good as the one from the first game soundtracks. Just my opinion.
@@sanjum2475 Yeah. They couldn't put NPCs all over the place since there were a bunch of Thugs occupying it at the time, so it would make sense that people would stay indoors so as not to get caught in the crossfire.

As much as Metropolis in R&C 1 :/ I think they intended to put civilians on both but maybe it would have weighted to much for ps2 abilities? Or maybe devs just didn't have enough time to think about it

While GC’s soundtrack is not as ethereal and dark like the first game, it has songs like these that bring it to the next level. Can’t wait for the next title - I hope Insomniac goes back stylistically to R&C games more similar to this.

I’ll never forget the first time I got to this level. I always sat around for a bit to hear the planets theme play before I did any purchasing or exploring. Went down the main path and saw the Thugs-4-Less were hiding behind a shit load of cover, knew I was gonna be in for one hell of a fight the whole way through.
Some of my favourite ost of Ratchet and Clank: 1° : Metropolis, Aridia Outpost, Gemlik Base, Pokitaru... 2°: Tabora Mining Area, Silver City, Thugs HQ or Todano's Megacorp Factory... Gladiator: Challege Failed theme xd 3°: The first two ratchet and clank music are the best.
One of the best, for certain. Also, a little odd but I returned here after listening to the Moby song at the end of the Bourne movies, there’s something about the start that reminds me of this song.
I’m not too sure why people say this planet was so difficult, I don’t remember it being hard at all. I think I just really took my time so I wouldn’t have to leave the bangin music so soon lol
your experience occurred because of your gameplay style, most people play these games as a run & shoot game, so they breeze through the enemies being able to easily kill them without much thought. The same thing applies to every level of the game if you have the appropiate weapons, otherwise you have to take a different approach (taking your time with each enemy encounter, retreat when necessary, using a different strategy, etc). This level was the second big difficulty spike, in which enemies started to have much more health than the levels before and started to deal more damaging attacks. The enemy placement/level design was more complex too, with less cover for Ratchet and enemies bring more numerous.

I believe the reason it's so remembered it's because the difficulty was so high, we died a lot and played carefully, thus spending more time with the soundtrack and developing Stockholm syndrome for it lol.

This level was a war to get through as a kid. Every checkpoint mattered.

On replay I typically FPS glitch over the initial barrier so I don't have to go through the hovercar highway.

Well, only gadgets you used here were the Swingshot and Gravity Boots, so no unfortunately.

This was the most played PS2 game I got for Christmas back in 2004. First PS2 game with my PS2 Slim system.

Its cuz some people save up Bolts for the best armor in the game so they use the worst armor for the entire game (it sucks but its worth it)
