I’m local to this place, grew up near here and there’s lots of controversy over this hospital. The surrounding area had a big mining community with some big deep mines (now all closed) and this hospital was paid for by donations and fund raising by the local miners over the years. The NHS trust recently closed the Dilke hospital and Lydney hospitals in favour of the new smaller hospital that’s just been built and recently opened in Cinderford. Here’s a brief look at the history of the hospital… Following the death of the Forest's Member of Parliament (Sir Charles Dilke) in 1911, fund raising commenced to establish a local community hospital. Subsequently The Dilke Memorial Hospital was built as a permanent memorial to the popular M.P. on a site near to Lightmoor Colliery, Cinderford. The hospital first opened its doors in 1923 and was funded until 1949 by public subscription and fund raising events. The NHS trust now want to sell both the Dilke hospital and the community hospital, something that the locals don’t want to happen! Campaigners want to transform the building into a mental health and wellbeing centre so that vulnerable people have a “safe place to go". Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, which owns the site and has put it up for sale, said it "will take both financial and social value into account when considering offers".
They will. Almost certainly refurbished or knocked down and rebuilt for the 33,684 (and counting) new residents who have come to 'enrich' our country. 👎
That place looks like it's not been empty very long. I wonder why all the Security ? Unless they want to use it for something in the future. But as always great explore Matt
Steps to a successful explore. 1) Carefully scrutinize perimeter security. 2) Take advantage of unmonitored gap. 3) Assess and memorize all security devices on buildings. 4) Search for unsecured doors or windows. 5) Gain entry without destruction or vandalism. 6) Gleefully wander through hallways and rooms, 7) Inevitably trigger alarm. 8) Calmly exit building and grounds without getting caught. 9) SUCCESS!
@@MoeLarrycurly1 Clearly this site is not abandoned and you did not have the right to trespass on private land, as is the case in England and Wales so hard luck.
@@MoeLarrycurly1 Really you don't say actually where in the US it was sounds a bit fishy to me or even a bit false, and as for the Good Lord I'm not religious so that doesn't work either??
Listend to the video as a podcast. For half of the video i thought matt was going in a active bunker with all the cameras ect. Maby more than just a hospital?😊
So if the Hospital was funded by private funds how come the site is still not owned by the community, and if there is doubt then surely there should be an enquiry to find out the rightful owner??
The pigs in cinderford are lazy, they probably turned up about two days later, I’ve got stitched back up a few times in the Dilk ruspbridge I didn’t know it was closed but I wouldn’t now as I’m in sumerset now.

Another example of NHS waste of money. Why dont the authorities do something with all these empty properties? Xx

No another case of let's take away medical services from needy folk who don't live in the city, but give them something just to keep the peace??
