You may enjoy a very similar story about an African American man wrongly accused on death row who has survived and found tremendous internal peace through Buddhist meditation practice. The book is very readable and incredibly inspiring. The title is "The Buddhist on Death Row", by David Sheff.

This was indeed a powerful story! Wow. The whole journey with being tricked by the lawyer, 13 years sentence.. and in the midst of this terrible condition- being able to find real peace, happiness within. It’s so much to learn from this story, thank you SO MUCH Werner for making this interview, and most of all thank you Maksim for sharing your important message with us!!! ❤❤❤ I wholeheartedly wish you luck with your further projects!

In Buddhism, samadhi is the last of the eight steps leading to enlightenment (the Eightfold Path). If you enjoyed this video, I highly recommend "The Buddhist on Death Row", a short book about an innocent death row inmate locked up for over 23 years now, Jarvis Jay Masters, who has incredibly found tremendous internal peace through a dedicated Buddhist meditation practice. The book is well-written and profoundly inspiring. The author is David Sheff. Jarvis would make a great interviewee for his channel.

Such a beautiful story about discovery of Knowledge within oneself ❤️ As it says in one of my favorite books "Knowledge is the part of your mind that is spiritual and permanent. It is the part of your mind that knows who you are and why you have come here, who you must reach and what you must accomplish." ( Greater Community Spirituality book by Marshall Vian Summers)

I believe this man, Maksim went way beyond Viktor Frankle. Perhaps 100 times beyond Frankl. Everyone needs to read his book. It may be the most important book of your life.

1:09:30 - I really think the best explanation for religious exclusionism and the commonality of it is that it's a memetic software and was never, first and foremost, meant to be an absolute truth claim - regardless of whether believers in more tribal times believed it. For example any group that didn't have social cohesion got conquered and enslaved by those who both had it and had better steel and soldiers. That selected for religious beliefs that both elevated the ingroup highly and deeply punished apostasy and heresy. We're in a place now where we're penned in as far as the world is concerned and short of any serious colonization of space, we're forced to deal with each other or go extinct - hence the importance now of more ecumenical views. A lot of believers are still severe and devout because, for thousands of years, being that way was the most environmentally 'fit'.
