Thanks for documenting your trek. I do long section hikes in the states, looking forward to doing the GR 11 next summer. Learned a lot from your clips. Hope you continue to have great adventures.
Hi Sasha, my partner Wendy and I watched your whole Pyrenees adventure right through and really enjoyed it. It’s now one of our top hiking videos and we’ll definitely be watching it through again in the future. What we like most of all is that you really communicate the physical business of getting up every day and knocking out the miles. With a lot of videos you feel like you’re being transported effortlessly from one beauty spot to another, but not here. And we love your attitude to life, nature and adventure - it’s a lesson for us all!
Aww thank you so much, that’s so nice to hear! I’m really glad you liked it 🙂 When I looked back at the trek after making my videos I actually thought that I did the opposite and didn’t capture enough of how difficult this trek was haha. So it was even harder than I made it seem but of course also more beautiful and well worth it 😊 Thanks for watching and take care!
Dear Sasha, I hope this message finds you well, my dear friend. I can't help but express how much your recent GR11 completion video has stirred up a mix of emotions in me. For nearly a year, I've been glued to your channel, watching your adventures, living through your experiences, and above all, marveling at how your infectious smile never seems to fade. You've been a tremendous source of inspiration for me, motivating me to embark on my own GR11 journey. Meeting you, even if it's been through a screen, has been an absolute delight, and I want you to know that you are a true champion! I wish you all the best in the world as you continue your path and embrace new adventures. While I may not have commented on every video, please rest assured that I've watched and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Keep shining, Sasha, and keep spreading that positivity. You're not just an online friend; you're a ray of sunshine in my life. Sending you lots of love and support on your journey! Warmest wishes,
Thank you so much Jordi, that is too nice. I’m super happy to have met you through this GR adventure, you are also a ray of sunshine and a world of positivity! 😊Let’s catch up soon and go for a hike together sometime! 😀 Lots of love and big hugs to you and your family! ❤❤🤗🤗
Big World, Great Sasha! :) Thank you for this absolutely amazing journey across not only mountain ranges, forests, and meadows. You made me smile a lot :) but you've also shown all of the aspects of such an endeavor like thru-hiking with all the "cut scenes". Thank you for your work and big congrats on making it to the end across the whole Pyrenees in one go. That is absolutely impressive. Wish you all the best and see you on trail. ¡Buen Camino!
Thank you very much! ♥ I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your journey across the Pyrenees too! All the best to you too and hope to see you on the trail one of these days! 🌄😀
Hi there Sasha, thank you so much for your support :) It definitely would be nice to catch a trail together one day. All the best! 😀@@BigWorldsmallSasha
Awesome Sasha, we have been avid watchers while we did the gr11 over this summer. We “cheated” and often used hotels and campgrounds, so we understand how impressive your effort was! Thank you so much for the fun.
I just cant believe that you FINALLY made it. Its so amazing to me. It must feel 1000X that for you. Despite having a GRAVITY BACKPACK, you had to walk each and every step of the way from the Mediterranean to get to the ATLANTIC!!! So Cool! And your reward- the best camping spot overlooking the Atlantic. What an amazing accomplishment for you! After completing the GR11 you must feel like you could tackle ANY AND ALL CHALLENGES THE WORLD COULD EVER THROW AT YOU. *I just crossed the finish line with chemotherapy. I am now officially in remission. I get more life! Yahoo! Sasha, thank you for helping me get through this battle with cancer! It was so hard. It was an absolute shit show. But there you were, to pull me through by providing an example to follow- PERSEVERE AND THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER. DIG IN AND FIND YOUR PEARL ! Much love from N California. Come help me search for Bigfoot...lol CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST
Congratulations Sasha, it's been great travelling with you. I hope there are more adventures on the horizon (when you're ready). Is there a way of making a donation for your book ?
Thanks a lot! It’s been great sharing my journey and hearing from you along the way 🙂 I have a donation page on my website but now I think I have enough savings to finish everything for the book, so don't feel obliged 🙂 I just need a little bit of time to work out the last details. And yeah I’ll hope to make another video series one of these days 😀 Thanks for following along this whole time!
Well done on both starting and finishing the GR11. You did it in your own way and at your own pace which I am sure will inspire others. Thank again for sharing your journey. ps i am now a dedicated fan of kasha for breakfast. J.
Well done, i really enjoyed following your journey. The way you did it is a great lesson in the power of positivity. You mentioned your guidebook a few times, which one did you use?
Thank you! 😊 I used an electronic version of “The GR11 Trail: Through the Spanish Pyrenees (the Cicerone Trekking Guide)” by Brian Johnson - you can put it on your phone 🙂
Yes, I combined GR11 and HRP but in 23 days as those were the only vacation days my company offered ^^'. And I recorded and uploaded them live in the hike ;) @@BigWorldsmallSasha
Well done 👏 🎉 A bit colder than the Med, I bet. Lots of options down there, for a few days off. San Sebastian nice and Biarritz just short train rides away. Excellent effort.
Congratulations on completing this thru-hike! I have been watching your journey (while stuck working in CA) and I want to do that thru-hike as well. So, what was your favorite part of the GR11?
Thanks! You should do it! 😀 It's hard to say but my favorite was probably somewhere in the middle, in the high mountains. A few memorable places were the Lake Maurici area, the area around Ordesa and around Peak Anayet.
Thanks Dima! And thanks again for the tent! 😀 I didn't have much choice with the budget at the time haha, otherwise I probably would have spent more on food ☺
You are cool! Thanks for the video, it’s very nice to see familiar places again!
Thank you! 😊
I've enjoyed all the videos of the GR11. You're big🙂
hehe thank you! 😊
