You never know, once in Edinburgh waited a hour for fare that went around the corner,Fuming! As the customer got out a soldier got in,Hull chief was the quote. He had won a few bob in the bookies and wanted to go home in style😊😊😊😊
I remember when Chelsea Barracks was an operational barracks, in the 90s and early 2000s when I was living in Pont Street, and you passed my old flat as you turned left out of Hans Place. The Chelsea Barracks site, on several acres of super-prime real estate, remained undeveloped for at least a decade, while the Qataris fought with planners and Prince Charles over their design. Not sure why you'd take a cab from the new Peninsula to Harrods, it's one of the most pleasant 15 minute walks in London as long as you go via Belgrave Square rather than Knightsbridge.
Lovely GHJ Mark. "Mind your head" Gotta take the smooth with the rough innit. Trapped on the way in too 👍👍. Dunno about guess the fare but I guessed the destination when I he said Highgate in that accent. £39:20??
Happy new year mark 🎉 another fantastic video mate (kipper season) I don’t think I’ve heard that in Glasgow I think the 1st 8-10 weeks of the year up & down the country are diabolical mate should have been in Glasgow it was -9 to -11 a few nights nothing like you London boys @ 0•c lol can’t wait for next video mate my guess for the fare is £47.40 👍
Mark, love the channel and the content mate. Me and my girlfriend watch weekly and love the guess the fare in which we’re quite competitive about so I hope I’ve won this time. This week I’m going for £33.80. Keep up the great videos mate. Hopefully I’ll be out there soon. Currently on BB2 🚖📚
haha you had if off that day !! good luck to ya mate .... three and half hours to get my first job one evening last week ... but it is what it is be lucky Mark
😆 oh well, the most knocked 🚦 lights is the Bolton street, right on Piccadilly. That's a challenger to the marble arch park lane 🚦 . To my memory the Green Park 🚦 lights off Bolton street very often are knocked over , have I seen cars mounting the kerb straight into lights post. 🤦
The history is interesting . When I lived in Cambridge in the 80s there were all these amazing bits of history everywhere which most people didn't even notice them or know what they were . There was a street in Cambridge which had running water in channels running for some distance on either side of the road and most people thought it was just for drainage . But this street was ,in the 18 and 19 century the place where people brought their horses to sell . And it was also a street where horses were hired out . The "Drainage " channel was actually a trough where the horses could get a drink ! Fascinating the things which are there but you don't notice and don't know the history of until they are pointed out .
On the Porter's Rest, you missed out that it went missing in 2013, and was later replaced with a replica. Westminster Council deny that they were the ones to remove it, claiming it was stolen, despite them having planning permission to take it out. It was later listed so that it would never be removed by council or vandel. Also, £29.40
Guessing the fares i have always been terrible £28.60. Ghana high commission was often called at the carriage office some twenty years ago, along with Channing school and Lauderdale house, can’t believe i can still call them.
Did you notice at around 26 minutes you started following a costa coffee van for ages, then it turned right and you went different way , then a few roads later you ended up behind it again, what’s the odds.

That seemed a half decent kipper day Mark, at least it keeps Dave in a job. For a second when you knocked for him I thought he had buggered off for his hols. Have you ever tried the Novotel Hammersmith when on your run in to town? Looking forward to more Kipper adventures.
I used to pop on there many years ago, I found it a bit weird as the reception was on a completely different floor. Dave’s still around, might give him a few days off if he behave himself 🙃
Watching this on a National Express coach out of London, and coincidentally went to Golders Green past the Ghana High Commission! I would guess £36.40.

I'll go for £26,30 for the "Guess the fare". I do realize I'll probably be wrong, but I just wanted to try. I really enjoy watching your videos, Mark. They help me choose the places for my next visit to London, and at the same time I can recall those I've already seen. Greetings from Krakow.
I’m thinking of getting merch in the future and handing out something for the winner, the announcement will be at the start of the vid, it will be more transparent and fair to do it this way I think. Thanks for watching!

20p less than my guess. 😅

@@Markstaxidiaries Yes it is a odd set up, I used to do a lot of work from there when I drove for clarkes coaches.
Is the heater not doing the job in the cab?
Heater is ok, sometimes it blows out cold air for no apparent reason! I find stick it in Neutral activate the generator normally does the trick
@Markstaxidiaries just that you were wearing your thick jacket whilst driving. I would find that very uncomfortable
@ It’s a soft down filled one which is not too bad, the leather one is like a straight jacket!

Mark, what do you mean by ‘comply with xx roundabout”?
I asked this on a previous video and it basically means "follow the road rules", which seemed strange to me.
Usually a one way system or roundabout so having to turn one way which might not be your usual or preferred direction.
