Everyone i know seems to assume we either are low functioning or rain man. Most don't know i even am on the spectrum. But when they find out, im either a liar or im "doing sooooo well in spite of being handicapped"... Toss off.. lol But thank you for spreading awareness! I wish i had a family. If i did, id want one like yours. Your wife looks fantastic! She's lost SO much weight. Very inspiring!

Valerie Dudley I thought the same. Think about the conversations we all have daily. She wants them too and can’t. It’s too bad her vocals couldn’t be recognized but I know that’s impossible. Sounds crazy but I have a Siberian Husky that “talks all day” but I don’t know what’s she’s sayin. I NO way am I comparing our beautiful Abby to my dog, it’s just a comparison. I try to decipher the different sounds and try to figure out what’s she saying but it’s hard.
It sounds like "I am" to me which is why they always emphasize that Abbie's sounds are not words but words are made up of sounds so sometimes her sounds make it sound like she's talking.
@@josephinehimmlar6437 - Thankfully she has a family willing to do that. Awareness is not exploitation. And what they earn from the videos, I am sure is going towards Abbey's long term care. Autism with Abbey's high needs costs a fortune. I have seen the bills for even just a children's group home. The bills are extraordinary. Kudos to these parents for not only providing for their daughter's current and future care, but all being there for her 110%.

One of the things that I do at work is learning different expressions of the individuals I work with. Our goal is always try to set everyone up for success. And even when that goal isn’t met it is a learning moment for all of us to better prepare for future endeavors and experiences. I appreciate that you invite us into your experiences because it provides tools for those who want to help people navigate this crazy thing we call life.

(I have chemo brain and am forgetting names and places). I cried all the way through it! You have done such an amazing job raising Isaiah and Abby too. Isaiah seems like he has such a kind heart. And I am not sure how you found Summer but she sure is a keeper. Hey if Summer wants an ASL buddy I am a certified interpreter for the Deaf. (Unable to work due to cancer and other health issues). Also, I cannot believe what a difference that walker made for the little boy. My goal over the next few months is to watch all your vlogs from the past. Seeing Ab brings back wonderful memories of the children I used to work with who were Deaf and Autistic.
I was wondering the same thing. I saw the one where they ripped up the carpet n at the end I saw the hardwood floors but it never showed them being put in or pointed out that it was done. Now I see this one after that showed it being installed.

We are getting new flooring soon and honestly I'm dreading it. My sound sensitivity along with having difficulty with change. Last time we did a major renovation I was actually in the hospital so wasn't there for the loud stuff or to see things change slowly. I hot home and had a bad panic attack/sensory overload because it looked completely different.
Has Abby seen snow? Maybe a trip to New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine? It’s really beautiful this time of year. I’m 53 and still act like a kid when it snows out! I LOVE the snow.
Love the floor and surprised they didnt put any padding under the floor to keep it warmer and not as loud. Most definitely need a rug to keep those toes warm now

Abby has been amazing since Becca and Summer have been with her so much! It helps to have BFFs around🥰 Love the floors!We had vinyl planks put down and love it. It has a bit of texture to keep from sliding all over and great with animals. We put down the soundproofing layer and it made a huge difference.
I just had my four bedroom house completely refloored with plank vinyl. Six days of chaos. My two dogs and cat and I (76 year old female) are stressed!! That compressor is a tough one. I don’t blame Abbie a bit for getting freaked.
My son hates the sound of drills, he gets so upset and hysterical if he hears them so I know how stressful it can be for you guys to keep Abbie relaxed and block the noise out as best as you can 😊 you could be doing a Michael flatly river dance on your floor 😂

The constant positive reinforcement... absolutely amazing. And when Isaiah popped up in the corner of the new living room made me laugh so much
i was thinking, rocking must be a great exercise.
So i tried it. and after 2 minutes ..motion sickness.
Rocking is not for me.
I love rocking (usually relatively small ones) but after a bit it usually makes me feel a little nauseated and makes my back hurt
I ALWAYS rock, when I’m stressed or concentrating I do small rocking but when I’m excited I basically slam myself in to the sofa
