    I've been playing guitar for 16 years started when I was around 10ish, I always wanted to learn square neck resonator but my parents could only afford to do one instrument..., 16 years later just bought my my first Resonator (1988 Dobro) and this was my first lesson, and I'm already feeling comfortable thanks to your lessons! Just goes to show never too late to start learning a new instrument. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom brother!

    Great video. I’ve been playing more than 50 years - 30 playing roundneck dobro, and finally broke down and got a square-neck and this is the level of playing I want to start at. Will check you out.

    Was a good review. I picked up my 2010 Gibson Hound Dog Dobro after 5+ years hanging on the wall and feel like I'd better start from zero again. Still can't find fingerpicks that stay on my fingers without tape. I subscribed.

    Hey kids! This is a must have lesson pack for beginners on Reso guitars. From the basics on thru to the near expert level flares & riffs (licks & tricks) you simply can't get more bang for the buck - I'm telling ya'll. All kinds of goodies inside! Pull offs, slides and triplets a-plenty - this lesson is a winner for sure. Thanks Shane!

    Total beginner here, what tuning are you using?

    What thumb pick are you using.

    • @shaneakersmusic
      @shaneakersmusic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a bluechip thumb pick. They are pricey, but they last most players a very long time. I have only had one for many years. It is also the most comfortable that I have ever used.

    Been watching your videos and realized I can actually make progress on the basics of what you are doing just using my flat top with open G tuning. I'm encouraged enough to get a resonator and start learning but noticed the American made instruments are scarce right now. I did find some left handed Beard resonators online at Guitar Center. I am right handed so would need to change the nut around so that the strings fit in the grooves properly. Aside from that, is there any other difference between LH and RH? Is the nut on the Beard guitar you are playing in this video glued or free standing? Thanks

    Dobro rolls are like 5 string banjo rolls.
