  • The Montreal REM (Réseau Express Metropolitain) is an automated suburban metro connecting Montreal to its suburbs. It is the first metro system in Canada to use platform screen doors at all stations and the first automated metro on the East Coast. When the line is fully open it will cover over 60 kilometers of track which is around the same length as the entire Montreal Metro. The trains used on the line are Alstom Metropolis metro trains with a green and white livery. Frequency aims to have trains running every 2.5 minutes during peak hours and every 5 minutes off-peak. The ride is comfortable, quiet, and smooth with great views of the Montreal skyline. The ticket price is integrated with the ARTM fare zones and the rest of Montreal's public transit system. The newly opened automated Montreal REM is perfect for enthusiasts to look out the front window and pretend to drive.
