Loved the Davenport, Iowa episode. There's tons to do their and it's located right by the mighty Mississippi. The segment about the kaleidoscopes was pretty cool. I had one growing up. You got to master making Ethiopian food. I couldn't do that. You and Emmy make a great team. Really glad to have an awesome show to watch on Thursday nights. Keep up the good work.
BIX 7 the largest annual event in Davenport. Should of done the whole QC so they could include Deere & Co and many others. Good information on the dam and bridge. I've even been in the control tower when opening and closing and didn't realize or remember how rare it was. They also didn't mention that when driving on the entire bridge is like driving on a metal grate not concrete like 99.9% of bridges
The Quad Cities as a whole rules. We hosted the very first professional football game, home of the infamous John Looney, birth of modern agriculture, home of the very first national Bank in the US, and we literally invented sliced bread. 😎
It's the noisiest city!!!!! I live here!!!! FREIGHT TRAINS sound their horn non-stop 24/7/365 after two companies merged!!!!!! Feel sorry for all who live by the riverfront. where everything is happening.
Davenport is terrible. I was born and raised here and we have what. Bowling. The Bix. A great theater crowd, constant construction, high crime rates, and...churches everywhere.
Davenport is more geared for the lower income. You have one decent area and that on the far east near McClellan heights or out near 60th and eastern Ave. The rest of the city has subpar neighborhoods. The money is over in Bettendorf and Pleasant valley.
@@Youshouldsmokeweed the city of bettendorf takes better care of it than davenport does. And its significantly smaller. Davenport is a cesspool that no one cares about
I live in downtown Davenport and I agree. The crime rate is ridiculous but you have to put into account that certain areas of Chicago were shut down so those people living in shit areas had no other option but to eventually migrate here.
Born and raised. You showed me the many updates as well as the historical. Full of energy, John is. Loved it.❤️
Love another Iowa episode as always. Looking forward to Decorah, Iowa!
Many fond memories of a great place where I lived in the 1970's while attending Palmer College of Chiropractic :)

Worth a visit if you are in the Davenport area.
Love the Quad Cities, great episode.
Davenport has a great foot race called Bix 7.

Davenport is so racist they changed the BIX Rules that excluded blacks from taking first place prizes

I do know the carousel was invented in Davenport.
The history of Davenport and the Quad-Cities is actually quite astounding.
One Walt Disneys first cartoons is in davenport. He has some graffiti/ a doodle on a wall where he stayed above the meadry downtown
Will you do a video on Mount Carroll or Savanna Illinois?
High lighting the 11th Street Precinct...you might want to do some background checks on this place.

Meh you don’t even notice after a couple days. It’s like a bird chirping
It's like a cuckoo clock. After awhile, you no longer hear it.
Hang on John! We have to go to to dollar tree. We will be back in 30 minutes
This guy would get very annoying, very quickly.

milan il is way better than davenport

@@time-o6c milan is also tiny. My grandma lived there for decades. Its easier forba community to care when its small enough

And Cary Grant died in the negative abyss that is Davenport
