He doesn't use Karthus passive to get good deaths; is always scared to go in but dies from so far away from the enemies anyway making his passive useless, he's playing more like a support and hovering for nothing while his team gets gold, leaves camps that would've been more worth taking instead of randomly running around like a headless chicken.
