Seems less stable and more prone to flexing and thus chip-out or even kickback. Also you won't be able to sight the blade location when it pops above the top of the board.
Wouldn't it be so much easier to make a wood template around your frame... Set your template over the installed wood, and use a router to cut the wood after its been installed? I can't see abt reason to use your method, unless you don't own a router.
Thank you for the video. The cuts on my hardwood floor for the furnace vent turned out fantastic, because of your helpful hints. Appreciate it.
Really like your no drama, informative teaching style. Thank you, Bryan.
Very nice end result! I will give this technique a try in a couple weeks when I put my floor in...
One thing I do when making cuts. I stay about 1/2 blade width from the scribed line and skim the frame of the register to fit.
Great job
That is a masterclass
Good idea with the tape.
Killed that
How come you used a floating floor pad for your nail down floor? No Aqua Bar
Where do you get that frame and vent the same color as the floor?
Just bought oak registers and stained them as close to the floor color as possible.
Thanks you so much ! I really appreciate it for your help!
Sometimes you can order the vents from the manufacturer of the floor. Some hign end brands like Naturally Aged Flooring will sell matching vents
Why didn’t you just drop cut it instead of lower and raise the blade
