Well this is a good start, no doubt it is prog rock/metal. Make me really think of Dream Theatre (but with better synth tones and thank god, no singer). Have to admit that it is still very predictible as it really has all the standard prog genre gimmicks to it, but that's fine to my taste, it is a very good apetizer and make me want more of it. Now out of that fact, it is very well constructed, dense but never too much, everything stay perfectly clear and understandable. Last remark, just a perfect mix, soundwise it's just superb, personnaly i would have put a little more grunt in it, but that is just really up to me. Hope to hear more of it soon, keep it up.

Being so very skilled musicians it looks to me that their inspirations are bands such as Dream Theater and Nightwish who also mix genres entirely depending on what they wish to express. And then Hovak bringing in traditional Armenian instruments. This brings an entirely other flavor to it. Just like Dimash as the next generation also plays western style but often brings in traditional elements. Well done

When I first saw a glimpse of him, I thought, "I didn't know Dweezil was a drummer, too." This particular group reminds me of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - one person with a vision that can only be realized by prodigy-like players who amassed even more talent and experience over the years. Everyone of these musicians can hang with the best of the best.

This was cool and all, but it I would have liked it if they got a big name like Victor Wooten more space in the songs to play tons of bass leads (similar to how Spiral Architect or Aghora's first album did it)
Victor was interviewed recently by a youtube channel (Scott Bass) and he told that he loves to solo but he misses the ordinary bass lines as well. For me sounds amazing, there is a perfect balance here for the bass role in the music =D

The fact that he doesn't come in is what I like. Nothing against Tommy, he is vastly talented, but it's just not my thing. BTBAM's music though... AMAZING. So I am certainly digging this.

Honestly to me the most impressive thing about this song is that they found real live musicians to record all the exotic instrument parts and didn't settle for keyboard patches.

Well, imo, when you reach for the level of being a master of music, it doesnt matter what genre you play, you just already know it. And yes vic has great progressive style and taste. Im not sure if he helps these guys write or if he was a sit in deal.

Octavision ft. Serj Tankian on keyboards
The keyboardist is Steve Weingart who has had a stellar career in the jazz fusion genre. He recorded/toured with Dave Weckl and has recorded a couple of solid jazz fusion solo discs with a Who's Who of artists. He's also the keyboardist on Simon Phillips Protocol I and Protocol II. Also, he is no stranger to prog metal, having filled Vitalij Kuprijs slot in Ring of Fire.
