@@AlphaOrange99Fighting type in general is kinda cheeks in Gen 1 because of how strong psychic is. Not to mention in FRLG, Hitmonchan is kinda useless against Koga, Sabrina, Blaine and Giovanni to an extent. Its just a case of physical special split being harmful to an old pokemon
Interesting video, but I have a little nitpick. You said Hitmonchan was the best fighting type choice because of the elemental punches, and while that sounds good on paper, if you look into it more, all of the elemental punches are special types in Gen 3, and Hitmonchan's special attack isn't very good, so I feel Hitmonlee would be a better choice for a fighting type in FR/LG
Yeah I was gonna mention that too, Hitmonlee has seen many playthroughs in FR, and I'm using one in the Yellow Legacy romhack, definitely the best. Additionally, there is a practically free in-game trade evo for a Machamp in Yellow as well, so it might be better as well, apart from Primape landing more criticals with its better speed.
It's good you stay clear of trade-Pokemons because otherwise, Alakazam would win for the first four generations. Hell, Kadabra is often considered decent to use as well. Okay, I am editing this to add....uhh Fightning is pretty bad in Gen 1. Primeape is probably fine for the Yellow playthrough but Hitmonchan is notorious during the first three gens because types determine if a move is physical or special. The elemental punches were all special, and Hitmonchan has a base special stat of 35. Yeah, I would say to go with either Primeape again or Hitmonlee.
I think staying away from trade evolutions makes the video more accessible so I prefer to do it, and I'm glad you like it too! This is very true and would make Hitmonchan a far worse option than I first thought, an oversight on my part. Thanks for correcting me and for commenting!

@@AlphaOrange99 Not a problem. While slow, Snorlax is a beefy tank. Body Slam, Shadow Ball via TM, a wide movepool to work with, the chance of it having Thick Fat to take Fire and Ice type attacks, and even relearning Belly Drum if you’re brazen enough.
You got the Kanto teams all wrong except for the first one (even then, Nidoking is only better than Snorlax in Let’s Go due to many Lasses with Fairy types, plus you forgot to mention that Fearow can be swapped for Zapdos or Articuno should they decide since the Normal overlap with Tauros). 2:33 Hitmonchans special attack is so low, its not worth using the elemental punches. Also you can get a Machamp in Yellow. Its an ingame trade. Swampert can learn ice type attacks. So there is coverage against Dragon

About Swampert you can get Dragon coverage like this and in more ways on the team but what I was saying was you can't get STAB super effective damage on Dragon types until the remakes. Firered and leafgreen still have the old physical special split. So your hitmonchan will use it's elemental punches with it's abysmal special attack stat. It's still coverage... but very weak.

i don't know man the gen 1 teams could use some improvements like venusaur and nidoking are fine but something like jolteon and starmie are just bad choices like jolteon gets thundershock at level 31 and that's basically jolteon's only move until thunder at 54 and at that point you're already at the elite four but i guess you can make a argument that the casinos right there and you can buy thunderbolt, but starmie is just straight up bad it actually gets no moves and you have to manually get psychic and surf to make this thing at least good and plus gyarados exist and it's just an upgrade in every way... and i guess tauros is okay but snorlax is just right there
for the ultra games I would suggest either a naganadel or a carbink instead of muk, naganadel because the E4 and carbink because from when you reach olivia, it is just a mater of giving it leftovers, and protect and then toxic stall everything
I'm not sure I'd include Naganadel as I'd probably treat the ultra beasts as legendries and wouldn't include them. The Carbink strategy is interesting though, thank you for the tip!
Ice fang is definitely very helpful and I love the Totodile line so using it is always good fun. However, I still think Cyndaquill might be better as Clair's most powerful Pokemon is not weak to ice. Thanks for commenting!
I will die on this bill but the best team in FRLG is Venusaur, Jolteon, Lapras, Snorlax, Aerodactyl, and Mr. Mime This is the literal best team for the elite 4 and rival fight.
Ok this video triggered me.....not sure how much but could be worse and also better First of all including hard to get and late game mons without mentioning alternatives like I get that starmie and tauros are S tier in gen 1 but starmie is quite late and you can get lapras/cloyster earlier and tauros is so hard to get that most people will just settle for snorlax or in gen 5 beartic might be good but it's quite hard to get unless you happen to play during in game winter not to mention that apart from ice type attacks all it can do can also be done by mons like haxorus darm archeops golurk and bisharp with 2 being type overlaps(golurk and darm) and 2 being quite late game (golurk and bisharp) and one being on team but also stoutland works nice in same role as beartic and luckily there is not much need for ice type Other thing was saying that there is no coverage for certain type even thought with proper ms those teams can cover every single type and team in game e.g in gen1 psychic is covered by jolteons pin missile (and also by normal types special bulk coming mostly from health) and dragon by starmie ice beam/blizzard And ghost is by starmie psychic(all ghost types have poison type) so well its just like saying infernape covers only 4 gyms and 1 E4 member while it actually covers more depending on coverage(bertha with grass knot and wake with additional thunder punch and folkner and flint with EQ (yeah you can't run 5 moves and nearly nobod gives infernape EQ but ya know what I mean)) Also not mentioning some great mons in certain games like not mentioming snorlax dugtrio gyarados lapras and cloyster in gen 1 games or lapras in gen johto games and crobat in HG/SS and some others and yeah I get that you just can't slap 6 OP mons on team and hope it works but there were some mons with considerable alternatives depending on preferences or way of playing And lastly some wrong information like saying that machamp can be obtained in gen1 without trading while it can but only in yellow by in game trade or claiming hitmonchan to be best fighting type while elemental punches from that mon deal little damage due to low special attack and both hitmonlee and primape being faster and having slightly better movepool Welp anyways I should stop complaining and tell ya that you'll get those little nuances quite quickly and also your idea of running sinnoh team without electric type but with grass seems interesting but also means that sole coverage for gyarados would be infernapes thunder punch.....or gyarados/garchomp stone edge...which comes just before E4 where there is no gyarados to fight...but also most are just some random trainers except for few ace trainers in late game that actually have AI that knows type matchups Also can't say that quag getting some attention here was bad like this frog or whatever not only has stab EQ by lvl up but also ice punch by tm to deal with dragons and same can be said with breloom as most people seem to forget that this shroom has whooping attack stat Anyways good luck with next videos
@@AlphaOrange99video was great man. very refreshing. it gets very tiring hearing people tell me use Alakazam to win for the first four games when I have no way of obtaining him without a GameShark code
Few things about the Kanto games. Fearow is still a better than Charizard for Yellow as fire types really aren’t that useful at all in Kanto, especially gen 1, as well as fearow having access to drill peck, which is much more useful than access to fly. Hitmonchan having access to the elemental punches in gen 3 is completely useless as it has an abysmal special attack stat and all those moves are counted as special. It’s also not that good of a pokemon.
I think having the extra coverage and better stats does mean Charizard might be the better option, but Hitmonchan was definitely a mistake on my part haha! Thanks for watching!
Delphox and Greninja you can get in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon Via Island Scan. But The Water/Fairy is great and it move coverage can hlep with almost every trial/kahuna. There are other good water types in Alola. Gyarados, island Scan in the Ultra Games you can get Marshtomp Via Island Scan. In Ulta Sun I used both Primariana and Swampert. Yes despite the water overlap Swampert can cover 2 of Primariana's Weaknesses (Electric & Poison). Then you have Ice Beam to cover grass mons though Primariana can learn Psychic.
Although Greninja & Incineroar are more popular Pokemon, Delphox & Primarina are better for playthroughs. Especially Primarina who matches up well against most of the important fights in the story. Thanks for asking!
Hitmonchan for elemental punches? They are special in fire red leaf green with hitmonchan having a sp atk stat or like 35... you lost me there honestly
Pidgeott literally had no good moves unlike fearow who gets drill peck and fury attack which happens to be quite good due to gen1 mechanics and when it comes to water types it's matter of discussion as both gyarados lapras cloyster slowbro and starmie are considered great
Thank you for your opinion, I think Archeops is better for the teams coverage needs so that's why I believe it should be in the best team. Thanks for commenting!
Welp can't agree with that arche has great speed and one of highest physical attack and great special attack with acces to nice moves like acrobatics rock slide stone edge EQ dig focus blast(risky but fun) u-turn crunch shadow claw etc while sigi is also very good then psychic+air slash combo isn't that great and coverage is welp not bad but when you have team of 6 it's hard to pick something usefull that will make it a bit more standing out so you will find encouraged to actually use it against disadvantage matchup but for B2/W2 can't deny it's one of best choice alongside crobat who learns acrobatics
unfortunately in gen 2 heracross doesnt learn bug or fighting moves so I think it's limited, I'd go with Forretress if you want to keep the bug type or with Primeape if you wanna keep the fighting one
Well there is extremely late megahorn and I think pin missile from breeding and also fun usage of endure+revershal but for ease of use probably best bet here would be normal type as there is no good dark type coverage anyways(iirc primeape line is version exclusive and only bug type with bug type moves are parasect and beedrill unless you wanna use fury cutter).....damm gen 2 is that weird middle ground where GF got idea that some mons were too strong but also had no idea how to make less OP mons that are also fun to use
It's speed being higher than Venusaur's does make it better for some people. However, I think on type for Kanto Venusaur wins. Either way both are great! Thanks for commenting!

i don't know man the gen 1 teams could use some improvements like venusaur and nidoking are fine but something like jolteon and starmie are just bad choices like jolteon gets thundershock at level 31 and that's basically jolteon's only move until thunder at 54 and at that point you're already at the elite four but i guess you can make a argument that the casinos right there and you can buy thunderbolt, but starmie is just straight up bad it actually gets no moves and you have to manually get psychic and surf to make this thing at least good and plus gyarados exist and it's just an upgrade in every way... and i guess tauros is okay but snorlax is just right there
ps i actually just wrote a essay lol
Thank you for commenting your opinion!
for the ultra games I would suggest either a naganadel or a carbink instead of muk, naganadel because the E4 and carbink because from when you reach olivia, it is just a mater of giving it leftovers, and protect and then toxic stall everything
I'm not sure I'd include Naganadel as I'd probably treat the ultra beasts as legendries and wouldn't include them. The Carbink strategy is interesting though, thank you for the tip!
Soul silver and heart gold water starter is best because ice fang .😊
Ice fang is definitely very helpful and I love the Totodile line so using it is always good fun. However, I still think Cyndaquill might be better as Clair's most powerful Pokemon is not weak to ice. Thanks for commenting!
I will die on this bill but the best team in FRLG is Venusaur, Jolteon, Lapras, Snorlax, Aerodactyl, and Mr. Mime
This is the literal best team for the elite 4 and rival fight.
Thank you for commenting your opinion!
Ok this video triggered me.....not sure how much but could be worse and also better
First of all including hard to get and late game mons without mentioning alternatives like I get that starmie and tauros are S tier in gen 1 but starmie is quite late and you can get lapras/cloyster earlier and tauros is so hard to get that most people will just settle for snorlax or in gen 5 beartic might be good but it's quite hard to get unless you happen to play during in game winter not to mention that apart from ice type attacks all it can do can also be done by mons like haxorus darm archeops golurk and bisharp with 2 being type overlaps(golurk and darm) and 2 being quite late game (golurk and bisharp) and one being on team but also stoutland works nice in same role as beartic and luckily there is not much need for ice type
Other thing was saying that there is no coverage for certain type even thought with proper ms those teams can cover every single type and team in game e.g in gen1 psychic is covered by jolteons pin missile (and also by normal types special bulk coming mostly from health) and dragon by starmie ice beam/blizzard
And ghost is by starmie psychic(all ghost types have poison type) so well its just like saying infernape covers only 4 gyms and 1 E4 member while it actually covers more depending on coverage(bertha with grass knot and wake with additional thunder punch and folkner and flint with EQ (yeah you can't run 5 moves and nearly nobod gives infernape EQ but ya know what I mean))
Also not mentioning some great mons in certain games like not mentioming snorlax dugtrio gyarados lapras and cloyster in gen 1 games or lapras in gen johto games and crobat in HG/SS and some others and yeah I get that you just can't slap 6 OP mons on team and hope it works but there were some mons with considerable alternatives depending on preferences or way of playing
And lastly some wrong information like saying that machamp can be obtained in gen1 without trading while it can but only in yellow by in game trade or claiming hitmonchan to be best fighting type while elemental punches from that mon deal little damage due to low special attack and both hitmonlee and primape being faster and having slightly better movepool
Welp anyways I should stop complaining and tell ya that you'll get those little nuances quite quickly and also your idea of running sinnoh team without electric type but with grass seems interesting but also means that sole coverage for gyarados would be infernapes thunder punch.....or gyarados/garchomp stone edge...which comes just before E4 where there is no gyarados to fight...but also most are just some random trainers except for few ace trainers in late game that actually have AI that knows type matchups
Also can't say that quag getting some attention here was bad like this frog or whatever not only has stab EQ by lvl up but also ice punch by tm to deal with dragons and same can be said with breloom as most people seem to forget that this shroom has whooping attack stat
Anyways good luck with next videos
2:33 Except Hitmonchan’s Sp Attack sucks and Elemental Punches were Special in Gen 3. So Hitmonlee or Primeape is better.
I agree, my bad for this mistake.
Nice video bro❤❤❤
Actually Hitmonchan is awful. In gen 3 there is no physical special split, so elemental punches hit with its mere 35 spa stat
Definitely an oversight on my behalf, sorry about this!
Thank you for not including trade evolution pokemon I hate when they are included
I think it makes the video more accessible to everyone if I don't include them and I'm glad you agree! Hope you enjoyed the video!
Why in Kalos & Ahola you choose Delphox & Primarina instead of Greninja & Incineroar?
Thanks for asking!
in gen 2 I'd go with Crobat over Fearow
Both are great options!
Hitmonchan for elemental punches? They are special in fire red leaf green with hitmonchan having a sp atk stat or like 35... you lost me there honestly
Haha sorry about this, a mistake from me there! Thanks for commenting!
Hitmonchan in 3 gen team? Seriously?
He mention of the element punches like if they were physical in gen 3, most likely forgot😅but now i want to know who would be picked foe that spot
Greninja is better, than Delphox
Possibly in isolation but with the rest of the team and options taken into account, I think Delphox is better, thanks for commenting!
0:40 pidgeot is better than fearow lapras is better than starmie
Pidgeott literally had no good moves unlike fearow who gets drill peck and fury attack which happens to be quite good due to gen1 mechanics and when it comes to water types it's matter of discussion as both gyarados lapras cloyster slowbro and starmie are considered great
lapras can’t crit as well as starmie, also psychic is ridiculously broken in Gen 1
Best fire starter ever is the dirge
Sword and shield are way easier than any of the other game
I think X and Y are easier personally but both are some of the easier games throughout the series. Thanks for commenting!
For gen 5, sigilyth is a lot better than acheops
Hallo
Hello, thanks for watching!
Meowscarada is best Gen 9 starter and you can't change my mind
Now i want you to tell us which worst team of pokemon would make the game the hardest to beat, don't give us the moves for them but only the pokemon😅
Starmie is better than Lapras FR and LG. It is fast and with the coverage it can solo the elite 4.
I think it is a close call but both are great options anyway. Thanks for commenting!
@@allanjensen59 Starmie is exclusive to Leaf Green though, so Fire Red players are fresh out of luck.
@@AlphaOrange99 both are in my top 6 favorite water types. Starmie is my favorite Pokemon
@@thepuppet4321 true, Lapras is still very good. And has good coverage. So no problem there. But I feel the speed of Starmie makes it better
@@allanjensen59 Yeah, but like I said, Fire Red players just don’t have access to Starmie because it’s a version exclusive to Leaf Green.
Hot take: blastoise is actually the best starter for a gameplay in all kanto games except yellow
It's speed being higher than Venusaur's does make it better for some people. However, I think on type for Kanto Venusaur wins. Either way both are great! Thanks for commenting!
@@AlphaOrange99 yeah i usually prefer blastoise cause even with the worse typing u can just cover it with the other mons
@AlphaOrange99 Venusaur is faster than Blastoise.
@@marcelohulse yeah i forgot cause i usually round up stats
