Basically, to put it simply they have 2 of these videos “A Tale Of The Glass Bead”
Butterfly Effect is the 2nd one and the 1st one, which I do recommend watching since it links up their past music videos, that one is called Previous Story
These videos have the purpose of not spoiling the comeback really but giving us hints at the storyline behind things, it gives buddies something to make theories of!
From what I’ve seen, there’s 2 main theories being said which is a more biblical route and the other is more mythological. Personally, if I was to think one it would be the mythological but the biblical one is plausible.
The biblical one would be connected to Adam and Eve due to the Apple and the tree. The song that appeared in the forest is the sirens and the sirens symbolise temptation which is also present in Adam and Eve’s story.
The mythological one is more heavily linked to the sirens themselves. People are really torn to think whether the girls are trying to stay away from the sirens or some of the girls potentially are a siren. Sirens are basically creatures that are very much like mermaids but are evil, they lure sailors to them by using their singing voices and end up killing them/ making their boats crash.
I believe that the blue light drew them into the forest which is also the labyrinth and they’re unable to escape and they’re alone which I think comes from “will we ever break free from this grim and shadowy forest?” And also there’s a line that says “we ran towards the blue light. We knew we’d be together again when we reached that light” which is suggesting to me that they are running to find each other but they all seem to be stuck in different timelines. That blue light may be the blue butterflies. And if you saw at the tree in the end they were surrounding that one Apple, it’s hard to see whether the butterflies are an enemy or not. They lured them into the forest but that ended up with them being lost and alone.
They all seem to be from different timelines as well based on their outfits which are mostly seen in their previous music videos-
Sowon- sunrise
Yerin- we don’t really know what hers is from
Eunha- rough
Yuju- crossroads
SinB- time for the moon night
Umji- crossroads/ sunrise
Yerin mentioned in the special clips aka the behind the scenes of filming this that “each member has our own time slot. The clothes we are wearing are of the past, right? So at the end, i appear in this dress on. What I think is that this is something related to the growth of Gfriend. That’s what I think. Because at the end is how we look today. A change? A transformation? Something like that?” The proceeds to give an evil laugh😭😂
Some people are saying both Yuju and Umji are from crossroads due to their fight in the music video.
Also the image at the start of the video has a very similar art style to the mini book in the labyrinth album, the book is called MÄRCHEN which means storybook in German I believe. Correct me if I’m wrong I believe it’s something similar to that. They are including one in this album as well.
In the video at the start it shows a dark scene. This is very similar to the love whisper scene at the end of the music video but now the tree is dying/ dead, the 6 flowers have wilted, there’s the broken bridge behind the lake (present in the music video), the swing which the radio was on in the music video is broken, the radio is on the floor and there’s also a backpack and a teddy bear on the floor which is from love whisper as those were what Umji were carrying with her- some people also think it’s the bear from rough and the backpack from time for the moon night. There’s also a smashed mirror on the floor.
The next drawing shown is very similar to crossroads which you haven’t seen yet. That had a glass bead at the start and Eunha had that box of butterflies where one was missing. Although in the MV there was only space for 4 but in the drawing there is 5. This drawing shows a girl stuck in the glass bead while someone is showing the butterfly box to her.
And also since I think that the forest may be the labyrinth... Maybe the tree Eunha found is the centre of the labyrinth?
Perhaps the butterfly effect starts off from if someone takes a bite of that apple or it started off from entering the forest?
This trailer I feel like it definitely going to be different than the music video if you get me. The news article said that the staff were shocked when they saw Gfriend’s bold change/ transformation so I feel like this was filmed separately just to tell some of the story. They definitely wouldn’t wear outfits from their other music videos for a new music video if you get me lol
But yeah about the actual comeback itself, the album is called song of the sirens. We have yet to see the tracklist as that drops at 00:00 on the 6th in Korea! Tomorrow they’re releasing the last set of concept photos called the “Apple” version
After the tracklist on the 6th they’re releasing the highlight medley on the 8th at 00:00 KST
10th 00:00 KST is MV teaser 1
12th 00:00 KST is MV teaser 2
13 6:00PM KST comeback!
So really we are quite close now! Umji said on vlive today that the choreo is tiring, not like live whisper or me Gustas tu which is like cardio though. They say this every time and they don’t lie, they always have amazing choreo! And also she mentioned that the preparation for this comeback has been super long and she emphasised this a lot. They started stuff in probably around April/ May which was literally straight after Crossroads in February!

There are lots of theories but I really feel like the sirens might be Yuju.
The sirens are like mermaids as you said and they are evil.
When Yuju And Umji where fighting you can see Yuju not caring that Umji got angry with her but then you can see her approaching to the door to try to apologise but umji still didn't listen to her so Yuju got mad but here is the thing the Yuju we see right now is not the real yuju us the manipulated one.
In fingertip you can see yuju trapped in mirror and another yuju who is just walking away. This means that Yuju was manipulated and she's trying to tell the others to not hear or to not be blind by the shining fake like she said in crossroads. And because of the manipulated yuju umji got manipulated too that is why eunha failed to save umji even if she saved yerin.
And also that's why umji and Yuju in Labyrinth Are telling the rest to wake up and not to listen. But I'm still confused with the time line thing like I know eunha is going to the past but. In crossroads you can also see Yuju running I think she heard the sirens and that's when it all began but there's also a manipulated yuju. And now there is an manipulated umji because at the end umji left eye was the only thing we could see and you can feel the creepy aura it's kinda confusing but yh I'm so excited for the comeback I seriously don't regret Stanning gfriend at all its been a year and like 7 or 6 months I'm in love with gfriend ❤❤❤

Firstly buddies expectation when Soumu released Song of the sirens albums name is MERMAID concept. Sirens in mitology yunani is someone of something looking in half humans & half bird. She calling the sailor that lost by doing and sirens sound. Sound like a sound calling for eunha in this clips. Actually idk if you know this. Gfriend mv and comeback always has a theory that connect to each mv. Even this theory begin from their debut. Long short story, actually they were being a friends a long time & suddenly each other got some abilities and make them envy to each other. This is just a theory when they killed each other in the Fingertip mv. Buddies belief eunha the one who has ability to turn back time to save their member. In the previous Crossroad mv, you saw they fight each other and yerin suicide in bathtub also umji and yuju never forgive each other. There's a lot thing to say. I dont know how to continued but u should watch A tale of glass bead: previous story. Also the outfit they used is also the outfit from past MV. Remembered the past album is Labyrinth. So pretty sure that the forest is labyrinth for them. Eunha right now having a turn back time when she want to save Gfriend member. The forest also same with Sunrise mv. Eunha was visited the world parallel. Finding each other. But sirens targeted for eunha. Idk why here. Maybe sirens dont want eunha's plan successful. Also the apple. Maybe when eunha bite that apple everything was change. And the beginning of clips show the black & white scene. Actually in that scene show all items in their previous mv like a teddy bear from rough, book from summer rain, bridge from navillera, tree from Love whisper, sunflower from Love whisper, mirror from fingertip and a lot of. But everything was broken bcs of butterfly effect.
