Thanks,Aaron for yet another great video.I marvel at how you and the team just get on with the job without complaining, especially in this cold and miserable weather. How you manage to plod about in shorts I don't know, anyway , more power to you lads and enjoy your Christmas festivities, all the best!👏👏👏🎅🎄🎉🎊🥃☕️❗️😊
I work in old tanks in the portuguese military tank museum in Elvas, near the spanish border. The tank interiors are the same filthy everywere Lots of mud, oil, coins and old lost tools. It is very nice to see your skills with UK vehicles. Keep the good work !
Not that i have ever experienced dirt and grime to this extent, but i found TFR, to be way more effective than Jizer and Gunk also any cheapie washing up liquid worked for me on classic/kit cars, sprayed on with a garden pump up sprayer, left a week, and pressure washed off , clean enough to eat your dinner off
A good Traffic Film Remover (TFR) is 100% better than that Jizer, i use the one from Autosmart and spray it on, leave it for a bit and then use a soft bristle brush to spread it around and then rinse 0ff
Yes, a CHAVRE mug or t-shirt (or hoodie) would be a good idea. I usually make a point of buying something from the gift shop when I visit local museums 'cause it's helping to keet these places open. I was at Thorpe Abbotts a few weeks back so I should prolly give you boys a visit - might wait 'til the spring though :-)
I saw many Cents, Chieftains, 430 series & many, many more in that condition at 38 Central Workshops. Thankfully once they’d been completely nut & bolt stripped they were pressure cleaned. But what a thoroughly miserable job to do!
Jizer used to be a good de-greasing product (in my experience) but is now probably so environmentally friendly it no longer is. Currently I use a Carplan product (blue in colour) that works well for me (after trying a few other products first).
I like the longer videos showing off as much as possible! I'd love to buy a hoodie if you could post it to the US. I used a power washer hooked up to hot water with a spray bottle of degreaser (Oil Eaters, not sure if you can get it in the UK) when doing the final cleanout of my Ferret. Worked very well! Then again I did it when it was about 22C outside. I know that smell all too well! Oil, dirt, and a ton of mouse crap.
The Hollebone drawbar was named after Colonel J.E. Hollebone, REME, who was Commandant of the Recovery and AFV Repair Training Centre at Arborfield and originated around 1942. (Fun Fact)
Hello chaps. I've recently discovered your channel and have binge watched them up to date. I know it's a faff to film sometimes, but would like to see more. Quick question, what's happened to the mighty Antar?
Steam cleaner might have been a quicker method. (senses sharp intake of breath from the reader) Yes I'm really comfortable here in my warm home office with unscraped knuckles and not cold or covered in slimy grease so I'm infinitely not qualified to say anything more on the subject. However I would love to help so will drop a few quid in to the cause if only as a fine.
cold water cleaning is poop ,,a steam cleaner would take that back to the paint first go ,,,loads more pressure and hot water cleans it a treat ,,plus you can add TFL to help break down the oil first
I know purists will hate me but have you considered horsebox style reversing camera ( blue tooth and mag mounts or hard wired for hooking up priimary tow vehicles?
Very great video very interesting when you’re taking each piece apart 👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Tee shirt or Hoodie featuring the AVRE could be a good way of raising funds for the Restoration. Great work Fellas, keep it up
Great video again. If you ever get some mugs manufactured I will purchase some. Hope to visit next season!

Dedication to British Engineering. Well done Guys. ❤
I am looking forward to what delights are waiting for the Monday night crew.
Informative as ever, great to see the new workshop coming on.. Would you guys like some new lifting straps at different sizes ??
Why can't you steam clean inside
Merch ,,,cups ,hoodies ,pens, hats,,are all extra income for youtube channels guys👍
Reminds me of cleaning out my bilges of my old boat stinky and oily well done chaps
There are days when I'm glad they haven't invented "Smell-o-vision". A tough job of mucking out the AVRE but someone had to do it. 👍
If there wasn't an ocean between us I would lend you my shop vac to clean out that tank. Nice to see a video from the UK when its not raining.
This could be one of the old Dirty Jobs shows ... 😊. Good explaining as always and great to watch (small tip : use stronger lights when inside)
Two words for Josh: Gloves!
That’s only one word 😉. In all seriousness, I did start off with a pair of gloves but they didn’t last long.
@@tinkeringwithtanks Well... You will have nice soft hands when you're all done. Those caustic degreasers remove most calluses.

TFR viscously attacks aluminium.
Jizer is water soluble. You wash it off last not add to water...

Don't be such a sook!
It's a 4000K round trip for me to get to Aus Armour, and we're in the same state!
Peace.

That looks like a lot of parts. Congrats on getting the walls up.
It in really good nick under all that considering !

The Hyd pump inlet hose is generally bigger than the outlet to allow a decent amount of oil flow to the pump and prevent cavitation etc..
why are the towing links for a tank called Holleybones
They are strong/rigid forms that resemble bones and they have holes in the end holey bone 👍

Please don't offend my pal Ted, he's very fond of his Foden.
I'd buy a mug
I would be looking for hole in floor somewhere under the rubbish. You might have to make a plate for it if there is one under the rubbish.

There is plenty of *quack* in the bottom of that CHAVRE, Hopefully my fine will help.
I’d buy a NTM hoodie…
Biscuits - workshops run on 'em.
Is yours a Digestive one or a Custard Cream?
I would put up with a couple more adverts during the video .

Never walk backwards when marshalling a vehicle. If you trip you may end up under the vehicle, and never stand in the direct path of a vehicle
Did I understand that you can't brake both tracks at the same time? Can you explain that a bit more please?
When it comes to naming cleaning product I'm sure the German's do it on purpose 😅
