I agree. The first two albums were raw, and heavy, His voice was perfect for the music and the songs were written well They are on constant rotation on my sound system. Always will be. 1980 was a great time to be a kid.

Doesn’t matter if you like him or not but very touching to hear him being open about his depression etc. maybe he should write a book about his experience with health and depression and what drives his goals .
Sad to see Paul suffering like that. I wish him all the best and pray that he can make a speedy recovery and that he’s able to get all the help he needs. He’s a bloody legend.

Things are looking up. Or at least he has more hope, now the long process to some at least partial recovery has begun, mentally and physically. I also love that he's back on speaking terms with Steve Harris. That's important.
So good to hear that Paul is on the mend. I was fortunate enough to go to the Wembley Record Fair years ago when he launched his book The Beast. I recorded him play 5 live accoustic songs for a crowd of maybe 20 people I was right up the front super lucky after the book signing and launch. He was up there with Sigue Sigue Sputnik. I asked his then manager and he said all good. The next day I went to the first Iron maiden reunion day at the Ruskin Arms and recorded him play with I think a Spanish cover band of Maiden. Afterwards he signed my guitar which I still have to this day. How can I get hold of Paul I don't imagine he uses Twitter and FB much and his yahoo email is probably long since dead. I sent him the footage at Wembley at the time but I don't know if he ever got it. I never released the footage on TH-cam but ive seen poorer versions recorded on the same day. I think only 2 of us filmed him. Back before the days of iPhones etc I used a proper video camera and I think he would love to have this piece of his history.
