Absolutely beautiful work. Thanks for sharing and the instructions you put on the screen. I love it that you don’t waist time by talking too. Thank you again ❤😊🙏🏼💕
All I can see in my head is this as a bedspread in an ecru / cream color. Make enough for whichever size you need (I would want a queen size). Then make a thin quilt with two high quality sheets or sheeting fabric. Put a layer of wool or cotton batting between them. Lay your crocheted queen size piece on top and quilt around the squares only. How gorgeous it would be. And it would be an heirloom piece to pass down through the family. I'm thinking this will be a long ongoing project for me that will take a year or more but will be worth every minute spent. I get easily bored and always have several projects going at once to break up the monotony. But yeah, I'm gonna go for it and honestly can't wait to get started. Thank you for this great tutorial. ❤❤
That is a gorgeous idea. I would be concerned about how to wash it, though. I made a crocheted throw some years ago for my daughter, and she loves it. That was without quilting it in any way, and I found it was limited to a size that she could fit in her washing machine.
@@triciarevill1617 I have a super load machine so no problem with that here. I'm actually quite excited to get started on this project. Only problem is, I live 45 minutes from Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Gotta bide my time until I have a reason to go to town.
incredible! I’m in awe from your designs. they remind me of old Spanish/Italian needle lace… I’m just a beginner, trying to learn it, and this was the first thing of this sort that I tried (I made simple things before, without all this ornamentation, just plain crochetting)… in order to learn better, I made an openwork band from these squares for the top of a tunic I’m making from transparent cotton. now I have only to sew the tunic itself and attach the fabric to the band :) if everything works out, it will be beautiful and I’ll try to learn some more… thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial! As a beginner crocheter (only six weeks in), I found it absolutely amazing and inspiring. I noticed quite a few people asking for written instructions on joining the squares, so I thought I’d share my version. I hope it’s helpful, but please be gentle-I’m still new to this! 😊 Looking forward to hearing how it works for others. HOW TO JOIN/CONNECT TWO OR MORE SQUARES slst - slip stitch sc - single crochet dc - double crochet ch - chain chsp - chain space sk - skip picot = ch4, slst into base stitch, 2sc Square 1 (SQ1): Complete first square in its entirety. Cut thread and weave in the ends. Square 2 (SQ2): Complete to the end of row 7. Commence row 8 and complete to the first corner. Continue with second edge and stop at beginning of 4th picot. Ch2, loosen loop to remove hook. I find it easier to place SQ1 and SQ2 together, flat on the table, to visualise where the joining points are, in relation to the picot you have half completed. Hold SQ1 with right side facing you. Insert hook into the 4th picot (of the edge you wish to join) and retrieve the loop from the SQ2 (making sure the two wrong sides are touching) and slip it through the picot. Keeping SQ1 separate, continue next 2 chains of the picot, slst into base, sc2. - * On next ch7 space do 5sc and loosen loop to remove hook. Insert hook into 6th sc of SQ1 (mirrored from SQ2) and pull the loop from SQ2 through to join at that point. Now continue with 5sc into rest of ch7 space of SQ2 only. ** (Repeat with next ch7 space for another connection point). In the next ch5 space: 2sc, 2ch, loosen loop to remove hook. Insert hook into the 1st picot (SQ1) of the next loop and retrieve the loop from SQ2 and slip it through the picot. Keeping SQ1 separate, continue next 2 chains of the picot, slst into base, 2sc, 1 picot (second one for that chsp), then into next ch5sp: 2sc, 2 picot, and finally into next 7chsp: 11sc. Then continue as per initial instructions at Row 8. Use the above instruction to join any other squares, with one or more edges. The technique is the same.
🧶 Love the beautiful art stitching and the peaceful music 🎶 and the bonus part… the instructions to follow ❤ Definitely one of the best tutorials I have followed 🙏🏼 thank you 💜
Love your videos. But might 8 suggest to put how many chains to skip and how to put together. Been crochet for awhile but just learning this style. Great work 👏
Even though you’re not speaking in the video, you made it very clear, which is not an easy thing to do from what I witnessed in other crochet videos so thank you for the effort that you put into the video!! I’m excited to try this pattern out!!🙏🏻🫶🏼
Classically beautiful! You are one of the first vloggers that I’ve seen post beautiful lace crochet patterns. My only criticism is you didn’t instruct how to connect the squares. By not doing this, nobody will try this pattern. I’m a long time crocheter. My grandmother taught me how to crochet this style, but you don’t see many folks do this anymore. Great work on crocheting and instructions!

This is so beautiful. My grandmother made me a twin size bedspread of crochet lace when I was young. I still have it. I have since learned to crochet but something about this small thread and small hook intimidates me. I'm a tight crocheter and dont know whether to go up a hook size or stitch looser stitches without destroying the intricate pattern. Any tips are appreciated.😊
quite pretty indeed, although one little thing that annoyed me in this pattern is it's only shown which chain or sc to work into, it'd be very helpful to write it as well so beginners don't have a hard time trying to figure it out - and sometimes even for more experienced people it might take a long second to make sure they're not making a mistake. But otherwise it's great, thank u for sharing it!
Very much agreed. I'm not experienced but definitely not a beginner and I had a hard time with a couple of steps. Especially when it came to connecting them. More instruction would be so much appreciated. I figured it out, but without the experience I have already I don't know if I would have been able to do it with what is given in the video.

Totally enjoying the pattern and the video. No problems in joining the squares!
