I've seen them 3 times in small venues in San Francisco. It's a life changing experience. When the light drops and they begin it approaches a religious fervor, like a modern southern tent revival. If you get the chance, see them. It will change you, in a good way.
Can not praise this band enough. soulful, futuristic pop with incredible lyrics rich with wisdom. One of the best groups out there right now. Right on KEXP.
Agree, the real deal! Super impressive for a band that could easily lean on studio trickery, but they've been touring a lot this year and are just dialled in!
I don't remember if I already wrote a comment on this video. Great set. Despite what some people might think the music was really enjoyable from where I stand.
@@sack7537 You never mentioned England but you felt you corrected the main comment when you mentioned that it’s Scotland that’s still producing* not 🇬🇧 ⚒️🏴🤝🏻🏴🤝🏻🏴⚒️
This year was a heavy time once again, for the first time in several years I haven't cared enough to listen to new releases. Couple of days ago I was reading Economist and stumbled upon their list of best albums of 2023. "Nice, Young Fathers made a new album, gotta check it out". I've been listening to it several days straight, massive stuff, heavy heavy indeed
These guys have had my ear for years, so it was awesome to toss on Heavy Heavy on a zero-degree day in January and have my mind blown. Best album yet from a group that just keeps getting better.
Noel Gallagher recommended them in an interview, saying they are "the most original band around at this moment in time ", spent the next two weeks listening to Heavy Heavy. It's a GREAT album!!
I saw them in Chicago in April and I hope I get another chance to see them. If they are remotely close to me again I will be going. I went to the show by myself and felt a little awkward before it started but by the time I left I was grinning from ear to ear on the walk back to my car. There is a comment here about it being like a religious revival and I agree. What live music is meant to be.
Saw them open for Baths in 2014 in Detroit, had no idea who they were but I'm glad I got there early. Absolutely amazing live performance, their energy was unmatched! Sprinted directly to their merch table and bought a record.
I saw that tour in Chicago and every time they’ve come back. Can’t wait to see this tour next year, looks like it’s going to be a beautiful experience.

Where did they play in SF? I used to live a book there.
I think just this video changed me, I was not expecting what I got here and I’m very happy about it
OMG! How jealous I’m! They have never been in Mexico!
well said
Love to hear it! Saw them 3 times this year they smashed every one, they give so much energy. Just one of the very best bands on the planet
The drummer - literally BECOMING the music 😂❤
@@accendilaluce8616 Makes me happy
ikr, i loved it
I’ve seen them twice this year and they are truly incredible live, doing Scotland proud 🏴
I think this is the best band out there right now. They are incredible live, they are original and insanely talented.
The album these 4 songs are drawn from is hands-down THE album of the year, regardless of genre.
Can not praise this band enough. soulful, futuristic pop with incredible lyrics rich with wisdom. One of the best groups out there right now. Right on KEXP.
Young Fathers was the sole reason I bought tickets for Depeche Mode on 2 days' notice.
They sound EXACTLY like the studio recordings! Maybe even more dynamic and energetic. Amazing

That studio is wired something fierce so they say.
Best live act on the planet right now without trying. Stunning. Thank you
Best live act on the planet for 10 years and counting 😉
Oh they're trying, they just have very little competition! And they keep getting better
I don't remember if I already wrote a comment on this video. Great set. Despite what some people might think the music was really enjoyable from where I stand.
I saw Young Fathers live in Vancouver this past September. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time. Pretty sure I have a crush on the whole band 😂

Saw this band open for Depeche Mode. Thank God! wouldn't have never known them. Love their music!
Very Creative guys 🎉 they use very selected vintage gear, EMS Synthi ( legendary English synth, 10.000$) etc.
First saw these guys support Massive Attack and been a fan ever since. If you can-go see them. Incredible live band.

I've never ever ever heard something like this and now i love it
Young Fathers and Future Islands, that would be the greatest concert lineup in history of planet earth.
Spiritual. So f-ing good. Thank you 😎
I think this might be their 4th session with KEXP and each one has just been incredible! An absolute force live!

Can we just take a little moment to acknowledge that drummer? He's a bloody athlete!
Best band in UK
When Kayus went up and hugged Cheryl there at the very end, I cried...
"I saw" is a musical masterpiece!
I'm fucking speechless.
This is so next level. Can't wait to see them live.
Suspect I'm slightly older than their target audience but haven't had the vinyl off the turntable since I bought it.
Naaaah. They said it in the interview...the diversity of demographics in their fanbase is something they buzz off of!
One of the greatest live acts you will ever see
can't express how sad i am they're not hitting my city next year. easily one of the best albums this year.
These guys have had my ear for years, so it was awesome to toss on Heavy Heavy on a zero-degree day in January and have my mind blown. Best album yet from a group that just keeps getting better.
Certainly the best album of 2023.

This was all sunning, but that moment they first sang in unison on Geronimo got the goosebumps out in flurries
It's great that Cheryl is a fellow YF super fan!

Drum to Tell Somebody to Geronimo is one of the most beautiful sequences of music I have ever heard in my entire life. Expertly crafted work.

One of the best live recordings of all time.
