I was in the worst time in my life last year(2016)i was overweight and a anime nerd,i got bullied in school,i used to cry all the time and hate myself for being fat that all changed when i found this channel it inspired me to work out and lose weight and built up my courage and he KNOWS ANIME. so thanks jax!
"If there is no darkness, we wouldn't be able to truely appreciate the light." It can always get better folks, the only deciding factors are your thoughts and actions.
I dont know if anyone is going to see this but I am going to write this anyway. So I am a very small person and I have always been. And from fifth to sixth grade I did push-ups every day and I tried to do so many I was able to do, and every time I got tired I said to myself I am going to show them who is small. And I ate good foods and I got a six-pack and when we had PT and was going to the shower some came to me and said "you've got a six-pack" and I didnt brag about it. I felt that people had respect for me and I was a great feeling. Know I am 13 years old and I am 145 centimeters (I don't know what that is in feet) so I am still pretty small compared to the other guys in my class. I ate a little to much in Christmas, but I am going to make 2018 my BEST year and I hope it becomes your BEST year too If you read through all of it, thanks for that you listened to me and I hope 2018 becomes your BEST year
I am a psychology student, you actually just gave me extra motivation to study hard so i can be the best i can be so i can help others however i can :)
If someone is working hard and you put them down and take the piss, you are a monster. Instead of hating why not help them with complements and motivation. It could even end up helping you in the long run.
True words man, dont let stress get to you at all cause it can mess you up. Last year I was depressed and tried to kill myself, but since then I changed my life and lost 38 lbs and set up a several year transformation goal. I started ignoring the negative comments from my wife about my size and just focused on dropping the weight and feeling better. The biggest thing for everyone to focus on is to think about yourself and not do it for anyone else. Get in shape to feel better and be happier, nothing anybody else can say about your body matters cause its YOUR body, not theirs.
In my honest opinion, you and Jeff Cavalier are my favorite TH-cam fitness guys. You have helped me so much for the past couple years. From understanding nutrition to new ideas for workouts to implement into my own training, to general advice about allowing me to become not just a stronger person but a better person in general. In my opinion, that's really what working out should be about, becoming something better than what you were before. I really want you to know how much respect I have for you and how much I appreciate your channel. I really hope you have a great New Years, and that we the community get to see more and hear more from you.
Your channel's helped me a lot. I started losing weight 3 weeks ago because i was overweight (200pounds,14years old) and i've lost 12 pounds already, when i was down and had zero motivation to continue i went on youtube and just started browsing for videos and for whatever reason yours always fired me the hell up and made me scream to myself in the mirror that i CAN do this A month ago i would have laughed when someone told me to meditate but now i do it an hour on a daily basis all because of you. I just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am for your awesome content and i wish all of the best for you brother.
I think my biggest problem now to my mental health is having no friends to talk to personally. I'm in college right now for almost three years and I have no friends there. I consider a friend a friend when I can talk to something deeply personal about me without feeling really uncomfortable. I am reading books to improve myself and be more social. The book the improved my mental health the most was the sublet art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson. That book inspired me. Love you Jax, keep doing what you're doing.
Hyper Invincible Artist Jotaro is the Joestar in part 3, but the guy in the back (the one I mentioned) is an older version of Joseph, that appears in part 3 too
Jax really helped me change my ways in 2017 at my max I was 280ish but watching your videos really help me get into shape. Now I'm at 220 and still looking to lose more. Thanks a million!
Guys just don't be afraid to talk even if it's to your pet. Sometimes verbalizing a problem out loud allows you to work through it. Keep a problem internal allows it to fester and eat at you. Blessings to you all in the New Year
I started working out around 2014, and at the time I dived in with little to no knowledge at all in regards to exercising and what to do essentially. So I spent the next few years afterwards learning what to do just by trial and error and just fixing things as I go, admittedly it might not have been the most efficient way to go but it was the only way I knew how to approach it and I've learned quite a bit about fitness throughout the years. But the most important thing to me I think was something that I learned recently and that was how to approach self improvement, I always worked myself like a slave and expected leaps of progress and I would get really upset at myself if I didn't meet my ridiculous expectations and being upset would stress me out and discourage me from working out. I realized after watching Jax's video on meditating that I was relying on my lust for progress which is really destructive and only made me think that it's helping me improve. Instead what matters is persistence and patience, taking small but sure steps towards improvement regardless of how small it is would overtime lead to your goal. Learning that now I'm not so harsh on myself and I don't stress out too often if I slip up, and I wouldn't get discouraged from exercising as easily anymore. I'm not there yet but I'm determined to see this thing through. So thanks for the help Jax!
Can't say I experience much mental stress or other issues myself, but I know quite a few people who do. This is a fantastic message for those who need it. Keep up the good work, love the all the videos!
This is the first video I'm watching out of this series cuz I'm a rebel and I can, but I definitely needed this. Around the year you made this I had had knee surgery and a few months later my sister made a comment about me needing to stop babying it. I practically screamed at her and started crying cuz I'd been steady going to the gym for MONTHS to continue my physical therapy, but it was just damn near impossible to feel like I was making progress. I went from the therapist's leg press to the gym's and it forced me to jump straight from 60-70lbs to 140lbs and I honestly think it fucked me up and when she tried to say I just wasn't trying hard enough....I still feel down thinking back on it. I take a dance class now (postponed cuz of covid at present) but I legitimately believed I would never even be able to walk properly again for more than a year, let alone dance again, and when people make comments like that it just fucks you up. Thanks for making this video, it helps
You are a really great guy Jax. Not just because you help me, but what you can do for younger folks. This message especially can help so many teenagers over the years. Keep up the good work man. You are helping to make the world a better place.
I started in Nov. 2016 successful all the way to this end of the year Dec. 2017 I lost weight I was like 130 lbs now I'm 116 I am 15 years old but my mom thinks that is a little underweight but I feel great and I did it all by myself first healthy eating, exercise ,sleep I just need to get back on track and recover a bit from Thanksgiving and Christmas but nothing can stop me new years is gonna be easy i know what to do.
Congratulations! That is a real accomplishment to lower your own weight by that much. That weight may not be healthy, so, I would suggest you check to make sure. Your health is very important, so please be careful. Still, that is an amazing accomplishment.
Heck yeah! I've been working at it for about 6 months now and I've lost around 8% of my own body fat hitting it hard. I attribute this to you mostly, for giving me motivation, and some other fitness youtubers. My goal is to be relative to your size, as in built, but not too built. Thanks for your continued efforts, love ya.
I am a parkour coach and I've had to deal with students who compare me to other coaches in the past. I'm able to brush off at times, but sometimes it sucks when you do the best you can in a gym that doesn't take parkour seriously and you got a student giving you shit about it constantly. It is exhausting and annoying, but I am taking it as an opportunity to let go of the negative shit people say to me. I can't change what people will think of me, but I can change how I react to them. 👍🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿💪🏿🐯
Is it ok that I started crying watching this Because all the facts and points you stated about how I wanted to be for the beach and yet I slacked cuz it was a long time away and yet I already myself over I stress everyday hearing my mom and girlfriend call me fat And I tried to do my best to have a better body and yet I stay sad because no matter how much I go and try to progress, just being called fat even after a week of working out and focusing on eating healthier And it has taken a toll on me for the past 2 years. This video really hit me in the feelings and it crazy how understanding you are and to hear from you talk makes me feel better And I try to meditation and it slowly is working better for me calming my anger and my sudden outburst I am so happy I found you and it really brings hope that I can look for a better future Thank you JaxBlade
I wanted to say thank you for making your videos. It takes courage to talk openly and to pursue something that’s important to you. I struggle with depression myself and I found this video helped a lot. Thank you.
It really made my day when you talked about your injuries. Recently I've been going through a hip and elbow injury and it honestly has messed with my mind. I can't train as hard or as often as I want and it has taken a toll. It's so frustrating because I feel like it's wasted time and like I'm losing my progress. It's nice to know I'm not totally alone in it.
Hi Jax, I completely agree with everything you've had to mention in this video, mental stress is something everyone goes through. Hell, I'm 18 now, and I chose to join the US Marine Corps, and I am going to become a Marine from summer to fall of 2018. But I find myself lucky that I've had an early start to building my physique and athletism.
My take on the whole “people who are better than you“-thing See them as rolemodels not obstacles. If they did sth you can too. And be such a rolemodel for others who want to walk the same path
I feel like I'm struggling with my first year in college. I know that I'm trying, and I see all my classmates doing better. However, I think that this video has really helped with self confidence and working towards a better version of myself every day.
That Allmight OST is the perfect soundtrack to finish the video on. Thanks Jax for bringing up mental health and most likely actually making a difference in people's lifes. Happy Birthday man.
With ya, dude. We all have stress and negativity in our lives, but we need to reach out to others in order to get through it. You're slaying it with these videos, and I wish ya the best in 2018. Also, I spotted the Jojo reference.
Jax you are my favorite TH-camr right now dude, like your videos have really helped me to keep on going even when I don't have not in me. I just look at mine of your videos and can suddenly push through it. I hope too be a great TH-camr like you one day man so thank you.
This is probably the best video that you done man because what you talk about is definitely something that isn't touch upon by man. Mental health is just as important as your actual physical health. As an individual that has dealt with and continues to deal with these kind of things on a constant rotation. It's a major league struggle that I think needs to be exploded more. Nevertheless, I hope you have a wonderful birthday JD and here's to a wonderful 2018 my dude!
I used to wanna get bigger so this girl would like me. She was my friend but when i was talking to her she said that im doing really good. She said that she was proud and wow that made me feel awesome
Jax thanks for putting out this video. It is so important to hear these words. You're my hero man and every video you put out knocks it out of the park for me, thank you so much.
Thanks, JaxBlade you reminded me once again (not the first time you did this for me) how to find the right path in my life. People like you, like All Might or like Goku really help me a lot in my life. You always remind me, that I have to go on step by step even if it's hard! So once again thank you, thank you, thank you and a happy brithday!
Jax, thank you for such an informative video. I have been dealing with the problem of being, well, uhh, "over-careful" of what I eat. I realised this long before this video and the fact that someone else realised this was a problem really helps. Thank you, happy birthday, and happy New year Jaxblade.
Jax I thank you helping me through this I was here in the start of 2017 I haven't made much progress yet but I will make a lot of progress this year using all of you're tips.P.S have a great birthday
I feel your frustration on how injuries took you out. I injured my shoulders and I tend toward an all or nothing attitude so not being able to workout fully wound up with me not working out and going on a mad ice cream binge - which is how I learned my high metabolism is slowing. Or I just finally found its limit. XD I can also, at least, understand being frustrated with someone saying that there’s someone better. What helps me is staying with the knowledge that there’s always gonna be someone better than you, no matter how good you are. I use those that are farther ahead as a benchmark for what I’d like to see if I can do that, but the only person I compete with is myself; to be better than the me of yesterday. And finally, I feel the “appearing happy all the time.” Good vid. XD Edit: Don’t agree about the crying part, but that’s my own personal opinion. I don’t agree with it being seen as a weakness and think we as a society would be better if we didn’t shame and be made to feel ashamed for crying. That’s a very western thing. XD
Very good video, particularly for mental health. As I tend to find a lot of mental health content being very high in sky crap with people who don’t really, or at least sound like, they know what their talking about.
totally understand you bro i've had to deal with those situations before especially in my weight train class some people can be real buzzkills to my morale
Omg finally! This is why i love this channel your actually giving advice on the mental aspect 0f fitness!!!!! After diet this is really important! Thanks jax!
Really love this channel, hope you see this but im sure im speaking on behalf of majority who view this but we all appreciate this channel let alone you. Dont stop uploading ever i know tbats alot to ask but in tough times i hope you look at all the people you've helped weather little small you've definitely made a positive impact on our lives. (Apart from those times were im up late at night watching ur vids XD thx dude)
Jax thank you so much for creating this channel , this has got to be my favourite channel it started when I watched the Iroh tough like the toons and from then I appreciated your content. I cant wait for your new videos in 2018
I have an older brother who is nice to anyone but me and I just hate it because he will give my little brother money and treat him with the nicest of things but if it comes to me he says I'll never get married, or i will never be smart, strong, and I will become homeless I just don't get it, instead of discouraging me aren't you supposed to be encouraging me if you see someone who is sad dont make them sadder you are not supposed to make them sadder that just might make them think about suicide, a thing I always say to my little brother is if you have a cut/wound would you keeping stabbing your self there or would you be gentle and treat it with care.
Brothers are brothers they are dicks but In the end if that happens he may help he’s your brother ignore it my brother was the same but when I was down my brother lifted me
While I know this is a bit older video I came back to this video for a different reason then I did when I originally watched it. I been going through a lot of depression as of late just everything going wrong in my life especially when a few months before everything seem to be going right. I don't know if anyone will see this but I'm slowly coming out of my darkness and I just wanted to say that to hopefully motivate someone else.
Hey jax, just wanted to say your videos have helped me alot and have made an impact positively on my life and just wanted to say thank you for being yourself and making videos
Dear jax. I just wanted to say thanks you. For a long time I was short, fat, and just lazy. It wasn't till just before high school where I stretched out but I was still over weight and didn't care to do anything about it. I played football and ended up doing wrestling and when I seen what It did for me I started looking around to see how I could do more, but I still didn't put forth much effort. But it wasn't until I started watching your videos were I really got off my ass and started working. Being an anime fan ever since I could remember, I could really enjoy and connect with your videos. I went from never weighing less then 185, most of which was fat to averaging 140 with a lot more muscle. Unfortunately as I know your aware of things have a tendency of messing up. I dislocated my shoulder playing football tarring the cartilage in the process. A big mistake was I just worked passed it (dislocating my shoulder 18 times by therm of the year). I decided to take this year off of Sports to try and get money to get surgery for my shoulder. Mainly because I've been wanting to join the military ever since I was 7. Unfortunately it's a little late for the surgery because it would go on my record saying it was excessive and I won't be able to join the military. Also getting set back by getting kicked out the house and found out there is a possibility I might have cancer. Everything kinda turned upside down and I kinda fell into a little bit of depression cutting everyone off in the process. However, Your videos are what got me out of my funk not once but twice. You are doing great work. You are the reason I don't give up and I keep pushing myself to get better. Thank you very much and keep up the great work.
JaxBlade thank you for everything you have done, you have made me notice that there are other people in the same circumstance as me and thank you for inspiring me to make a change in my life!!! Happy New Years!!!
yooo happy early birthday goodman. mine is tomorrow. loved the video on mental health & physical fitness. especially being a firefighter & one of the smallest in my company muscle wise. may the new year & the force be with you
Awesome video dude! Stay fly & I can honestly say meditation & prayers saved my life B) lol now I share my knowledge with the homies & learn from them as well. :)
Yeah Jax is rights about the looks thing. I’ve had family members who look amazing but after a couple of years pass, they find out they have so many underlying health problems from the unhealthy habits that they also had in the past.

Hell, I'm 18 now, and I chose to join the US Marine Corps, and I am going to become a Marine from summer to fall of 2018. But I find myself lucky that I've had an early start to building my physique and athletism.
Two years later and this video is still relevant. Thank you JaxBlade
My take on the whole “people who are better than you“-thing
See them as rolemodels not obstacles. If they did sth you can too.
And be such a rolemodel for others who want to walk the same path
I feel like I'm struggling with my first year in college. I know that I'm trying, and I see all my classmates doing better. However, I think that this video has really helped with self confidence and working towards a better version of myself every day.
Still helpful 3 years later. Makes me feel better
You are fitness goals. The ability to honestly share how to reach goals to others and emotionally share how it effects you personally. Thank you.
Jaxblade mah man killin it
This is probably the best video that you done man because what you talk about is definitely something that isn't touch upon by man.
This deserves so much more views.
I used to wanna get bigger so this girl would like me. She was my friend but when i was talking to her she said that im doing really good. She said that she was proud and wow that made me feel awesome
I really need to fix my sleep times and i think i'm not the only one with that. Happy to hear that you fixed yours
Great video I 100% agree with this I hate how little people take mental health
So happy I found your videos bro, thanks for the support and keep doing what you do
mental health is just as important as physical health.
Jax thanks for putting out this video. It is so important to hear these words. You're my hero man and every video you put out knocks it out of the park for me, thank you so much.
I'm watching this in 2021 & I have to say I really need this thanks Jaxblade.
This video is just what I needed to further push my goal of competitive boxing! Thanks for the great year Jax!
I'm thankful to God for letting me stumble upon your channel🤗🤗 thankyou jax for all!
XD
I can also, at least, understand being frustrated with someone saying that there’s someone better.
XD
Edit: Don’t agree about the crying part, but that’s my own personal opinion. I don’t agree with it being seen as a weakness and think we as a society would be better if we didn’t shame and be made to feel ashamed for crying. That’s a very western thing. XD
Even though this is an old video, it ages well. Thanks for the advice Jax.
Thanks for all these amazing vids jax!
You're welcome glad you enjoyed thme
That's solid life advice.
Very good video, particularly for mental health. As I tend to find a lot of mental health content being very high in sky crap with people who don’t really, or at least sound like, they know what their talking about.
totally understand you bro i've had to deal with those situations before especially in my weight train class some people can be real buzzkills to my morale
Is that a mother fucking Jojo reference
_HMMMMMMM_
obreezy martinez lol... It's an anime called JoJo's bizzar adventure a.k.a jojo's
Great video. I went through depression yet I still. I still move forward.

Train hard, become strong, and Kick. His. Butt.
Brothers are brothers they are dicks but In the end if that happens he may help he’s your brother ignore it my brother was the same but when I was down my brother lifted me
I dont even know any of you, but you guys are the best
Maybe try talking to your parents about this situation?
Daniel O It's time for revenge.
And the best revenge is clean success.
Aaah. Looking back at this is so cool. Been at it for 6 months and down 86 pounds since! 20 more to go!
Great vid Jax, appreciate you brother! Love your vids and everything you stand for, keep up the good work and may 2018 be a great year for you too.
I love you man! Keep preaching the good word!
2018 surely feels like it's going to be a major year for Earth. I just have that feeling. Who else?
Jaxblade this video is so inspirational you killed it
