author events are the best! there's something about being in a room with people who all share your love for the same things that motivates and uplifts you like nothing else. I hope your wrist feels better soon

Author events are so cool! I’m so glad you got to meet her and ask questions. It’s always a good thing to get inspired by our favorite authors/artists/people and I loved seeing the change in you and how you got motivated again! 🥹🥰
I also love your kitty content and your editing style! 😻
I’m excited you’ll be a hybrid author and can’t wait to buy your self-published debut! Auto-buy from me! 😍
I hope your wrist feels better! I was hit by a car in my wheelchair almost 20 years ago as a pedestrian and freshman in college. Every once in a while, my right hand wrist pain absolutely flares! It’s an ulnar neuropathy. I had a huge flare-up about a year ago. It sucks. I hope yours eases soon!

I hope your wrist heals quickly! I haven’t been to an author event like that yet, but connecting with other local authors has been so helpful for finding support and different perspectives into writing craft and publishing!

I really like your whole "locking chapters" approach. It must take an enormous amount of discipline to follow through with, but it sounds like it allows for a much more productive writing cycle.
I like both the voice-overs and the text. I think it really depends on the overall vibe. Text is a lot more cozy, and atmospheric, whereas the voice-overs feel more "approachable" since there's a real voice attached to your thoughts and opinions. They each have their uses, I think.
8:06 Well, it depends on how recent the writing is. I loooove reading my old stuff, because I'm so far removed from the headspace (and I might not even remember fully what happens), so it gives me the chance to see what it's like to read things from the perspective of someone other than myself. Recent stuff? Well...
(Also, felt you on maxing out the credit card. Reducing that debt is a top priority for me right now. Especially since according to my monthly statements, if I only paid the minimum amount each month, it would take something like 45 years to pay off. 🙃)

Currently rewriting an entire chapter in my first draft because my critique group made me realize there was a lot wrong with it, and all I want to be doing is writing chapter 11 xD Totally understand the frustrations that come with realizing something needs more than a quick copy/paste to a new location.

Giiirl I work a full time job too and commute time is sacred to me, I'm always writing on my phone in the bus😂 I work best at night but I'm grabbing every free time I can to work on my draft☺️

I'm so sorry about your wrist!! And I totally relate. I struggled so bad with quervains tendonitis and the worst thing about it is that it made me soooo depressed. When my wrist was flaring, every single movement hurt and made me feel like I couldn't work, couldnt cook, couldn't write Blahhhhg. So I totally empathize ❤️ doing PT really helped. But honestly the thing that finally healed the "injury" was I had a kitchen accident and had to wear a thumb splint for 2 weeks 🙈🙈 and having to completely not use my hand for that period healed my wrist pain about 80% along with the PT i learned. Not saying that landing youreelf in a splint is necessarily a recommendation tho lmao 😂

That’s so difficult when you want to get writing done but you also have wrist pain. I’ve had that before too. Always better to let it heal but it’s hard to wait. 😔
