LividGamer 2312 LMMS is very cool, I use it for lots of things. It's actually one of the only music sequencers I've used that has live jamming using the computer keyboard, rather than relying on an actual electronic keyboard or just clicking on a piano roll - the music sequencer in Dreams looks way better, though :D
LMMS is definitely advanced I have played around with it for an hour or 2 but I have to agree that dreams destroys it in complexity but still I can see this scratching my itch til the dreams beta :)
I'm afraid that Mm won't market it in a way that would grasp someone's interests. If Mm can't market it, they will lose money,and if they lose money, they will go. The community will also be small. The only hope we have to save Mm is to encourage Sony to help market it or tell our favourite youtubers to try playing it. I just want to start making stuff in this game so bad. This game is universes beyond what LBP could do. In LBP2, I felt so proud I made an "emotion sensor." In LBP, pressing different directions on the d-pad made Sackboy do different expressions, and you could have various levels of each one, so I made a microchip that simply sensed what expression Sackboy had. I never got to use it in a level, but I thought it could be used in say an RPG. If you spoke with people using different expressions they would react differently. In LBP, I would have to make a small level to show it, or give it away, but in Dreams, I can just upload that chip itself. That's what I want to do.

this been in development for years though. At this point they are just being weird and keeping it to themselves and having fun with it as well as uploading pictures of cakes and peoples dogs brought in to the office on twitter.
They also started once or twice from scratch, that is why it is taking time. Also remember them saying psvr support would come later not day one. But now psvr support is there from the start. So it takes time, we will see a beta at the end of this year
Making environments, objects and characters will be very smooth in dreams i think. So much of what makes games unique comes from how the player character interacts and plays with the environments. I hope the game come with a variety of characters whom represent different gameplay styles which we can use as template for games. Which we could swap out the looks with our own character and maybe some sliders to finetune stuff like attack speed, jump heights or roll speed. Francis being a typical platformer.. maybe we get a FPS character and a Action RPG style Character ect.. that we can customize without knowing lots of code. Even a User Interface/game interface designer of some sort. That would turbo boost the entry level for unique games in dreams outside of just different looking environment with the same gameplay.

When are you going to show something that is made in a realistic art style and has complex gameplay mechanics? I know it can be done but most people might think the game is limited because you just show cartoony and kid friendly levels.
I'm pretty sure it's not an "engine in development" type of problem, it's just that MM is always forcing their signature cute style in everything they make, and they don't know how to effectively market their game. A lot of people still don't realize what Dreams can do.

I want to make a linear story boss fighting game. Something like dark souls but not as hard. Or furi. I want to make lots of bosses and have them be unique with different weapons and ways of attacking. I want to make a destroyable environment. Like if a massive boss with a sword tried to hit the player and he is standing near trees and dodged it. Some of the trees that got hit would fall down or be destroyed. I believe this game would take alot of time to make. But I would love to make it. I have been writing ideas down Evey time I watch these live streams.

Trust me, the money that goes into the show DOES go into the development. Often making this stuff means you need to go faster, gain more focus, and make more decisions about how it needs to be shown and taken by the public. Thus making a more cohesive experience in smaller amount of time. AND, the amount of money spent on it is a tiny pebble in an ocean based on real development costs.
Literally every comment on every video, post, Twitter message, forum, Reddit is when is the release date or even a VAGUE idea about the release date for the beta. Enough is enough, you are basically ignoring us now.
It's 100% complete, they've gone on record saying so and if it were up to them it would be out now, it's sony. They are holding it back from release for some bullshit reason they aren't telling us about, which isn't a good sign.
I'm hyped for the game and this is cool an all but to sink weeks or possibly a month of development time into an E3 where there bound to be drowned out by bigger games and make no impact whatsoever to a more casual MM or PlayStation audience seems like a waste of time, this would of been much better suited to a PSX coupled with a release date and or imminent Beta date, most people who aren't already familiar with Dreams didn't even notice they were at E3, sorry to be a downer but personally I'd of rather had the game released a few weeks earlier instead and to of done something like this after shipping or to be tied in with a release date at a PSX or Game Awards for example. Yep it was pretty confusing to not mention Dreams or have watermarks and expect people to know that it wasn't just some weird Sony interstitials, I only knew what it was because I've seen a bunch of these streams and was looking out for Dreams at the Playstation conference.
hope so, I think a release date coupled with an imminent open beta (stealth dropped or within a couple of weeks) would have the most impact, even though I think they've said the game has a 2018 window? At this point I'm dubious it won't be an early 2019 game as this wouldn't be the first release window for Dreams that's slipped.
I've been excited and curious about this game for a long time and I've watched some of their videos but I am getting more and more the feeling of it being something like spore. They show the same things over and over but they say you can make almost any genre of game, I want better examples. I didn't want to be negative about this game but I'm tired of seeing the same thing over and over. It might as well be a Lego star wars.

Well, All of the music was created in Dreams in the timelines you see, then they had live sections which were done live, such as the backing vocals, rifts on the guitar. Most people will all 'pre-record' the music because that's what you do in games...
droid4D stop saying this is LBP 4, it is not. Dreams has nothing to do with LBP, it is way more advanced and a thing of its own. Krod if you whant you can make LBP 4 in dreams yourself
The way I see it, Dreams is to the LBP franchise what the Dark Knight is to the Batman franchise, the one that expands the scope and style so much they give it a new name to really show off that it's a different beast.

The money spent on this show could be spent to accelerate the development and thus, release the game.
Trust me, the money that goes into the show DOES go into the development. Often making this stuff means you need to go faster, gain more focus, and make more decisions about how it needs to be shown and taken by the public. Thus making a more cohesive experience in smaller amount of time.
AND, the amount of money spent on it is a tiny pebble in an ocean based on real development costs.

It's 100% complete, they've gone on record saying so and if it were up to them it would be out now, it's sony. They are holding it back from release for some bullshit reason they aren't telling us about, which isn't a good sign.
I'm hyped for the game and this is cool an all but to sink weeks or possibly a month of development time into an E3 where there bound to be drowned out by bigger games and make no impact whatsoever to a more casual MM or PlayStation audience seems like a waste of time, this would of been much better suited to a PSX coupled with a release date and or imminent Beta date, most people who aren't already familiar with Dreams didn't even notice they were at E3, sorry to be a downer but personally I'd of rather had the game released a few weeks earlier instead and to of done something like this after shipping or to be tied in with a release date at a PSX or Game Awards for example. Just my 2 cents.
Yep it was pretty confusing to not mention Dreams or have watermarks and expect people to know that it wasn't just some weird Sony interstitials, I only knew what it was because I've seen a bunch of these streams and was looking out for Dreams at the Playstation conference.
They most likely will be at this PSX, i hope anyway and that they announce the open beta then.
hope so, I think a release date coupled with an imminent open beta (stealth dropped or within a couple of weeks) would have the most impact, even though I think they've said the game has a 2018 window? At this point I'm dubious it won't be an early 2019 game as this wouldn't be the first release window for Dreams that's slipped.

I've been excited and curious about this game for a long time and I've watched some of their videos but I am getting more and more the feeling of it being something like spore. They show the same things over and over but they say you can make almost any genre of game, I want better examples. I didn't want to be negative about this game but I'm tired of seeing the same thing over and over. It might as well be a Lego star wars.

Well, All of the music was created in Dreams in the timelines you see, then they had live sections which were done live, such as the backing vocals, rifts on the guitar.
Most people will all 'pre-record' the music because that's what you do in games...
