- In this video I have explained the importance of ascendant and ascendant lord in your birth chart. I have discussed why the ascendant is given so much of importance in Vedic astrology. I have also tried to touch upon the difference between Birth chart lagna and navamsa lagna and the Arudha lagna. The placement of ascendant lord in different houses is explained in an easy to understand manner alongwith the positioning of certain specific planets in the ascendant.

I used to always believe that Rashi or moon sign is your true self, but it makes sense that it signifies your emotions or stability of mind. I identify most with my navamsha lagna but hadn't made that connection myself.

Some notes. Ascendant, Lord of Ascendant, Sun as karaka of 1st House, which is the Sun, are important factors. Mars is also the ruler of Aries, the first sign of the zodiac (natural 1st house). Asc-lord can be in any house of the chart and that house is very important in their life. Dispositor of Asc-ruler is also important. Thank you. Your videos are always clear and helpful.

You mentioned the characteristics and attributes of a person when his sun is placed in the ascendant house, my query is will the degree of sun have an effect on this, ie if ascendant is 29 degrees in Leo ascendant , but sun is only at 4 degrees,According to baladhi avastha, he will yield 25 percent results ?
