Hi Matt. Your videos are very informative. I have two 3 friends who are coming to grips with MGA (all red) restorations here in Canada. I'll put them onto your videos. My 1600 MK II was about as crusty down below as yours was when I restored it back in the '80's, but it had never been hit. Still have it and it looks good 41 years after I bought it. Just wondering how your cars got so crusty in Australia, or is there a Melbourne in the UK ? Best wishes, Rob

No, Melbourne Australia. I am in Adelaide. Don't know really, mistreatment I guess. I found some old newspaper stuffed into the sills under the filler dated 1970, so the sills had rusted within 10 years of manufacture. I was surprised by the amount of damage under the paint. The Healey is in much better condition.

Hi Matthew, I am enjoying watching your videos, as I am starting my own restoration on a rusty 59 1600 "basket case' in Indiana, USA. I was wondering what the CKD stands for or means in your video title? thanks Dan

      Hi Daniel
thanks for the positives. unfortunately i lost all the stuff on the engine gearbox rebuild. Technology problems, but I'm glad you are enjoying them. CKD stands for completely knocked down. MGAs were exported to some countries, Australia for one, in a knocked down form and built up in Australian factories: Nuffield Zetland. This was a form of protectionism, creating jobs for locals. My car is an original Australian built CKD car. Good luck with your restoration. If there is anything I can suggest to help, drop me a line.
      Cheers
      Matthew
