As a landscaper myself, I can't wait to see it happening. Gardens are not just a frame - they give personality to the outside of any building, and deeply influence the first impression and how you feel about it. Not to mention the pleasure and peace that a beautiful garden gives you. I wish you great success in this new project!!
I bought an EcoFlow for my home because of all the recommendations from the chateau videos. I'm so glad I did. As a single person living alone it is such a comfort to know I have an affordable backup. BTW, Jonathan is such a sweetie. He looks so proud on that tractor!
Jonathan looks so happy on the tractor! What a wonderful life that little boy is living!!! 🤗❤️🎶 Yes, once you start implementing your garden you may organically make new decisions. What a wonderful space to work with!!! 🌺🌻🌸🎶❤️💖🇨🇦🇫🇷🇨🇦🇫🇷
I just love the way you all let Jonathan try everything even driving the tractor, and Ash being there right beside him keeping a doting eye on him; love watching you all bring this chateau back to life 💐💙
Ash you are so patient with Jonathan it was great to see him smiling as he was driving the tractor. The garden is going to be so full of color and beauty Terry you and Ash have a great dream that’s coming true.
I just love how Jonathan is a full participant in the journey you are on. I think this will give him complete respect in the chateau and on the property. He will understand the depth of the work that has gone into each step of the projects you have taken on. I know I have said it before but it needs repeating, I love your dedication to hard work and making the chateau and grounds a loving home. I have both admiration and respect for your family.
The curvilinear & straight lines, beautiful & interesting backdrops with pops of colour... water features!! My goodness, they've come up with lovely designs- front and back. Your gardens will be a labour of love, but spectacularly effective. Jonathan driving the tractor... you GO young man. It's coming together, and I'm so pleased for you ALL. 🤟🥰
It was so cute to see the chickens chase behind you looking for worms. I guess with the new garden the feathery girls will have to roam elsewhere. Seeing the pride in Johnathan's and all of your eyes when he was driving the tractor was precious. He is growing up fast. Karen and Shane have made an amazing garden design. Tracy, I am beginning to think you love hard work. Your always smiling working, but more in the garden or outside. I am like that. Boys, I hope you get the urns you want at a better price. The little fountains, the birds, will love that. The color scheme and plant selection thus far sound awesome. Lord Patrick as always gave a helping paw.
I agree with you all about Jonathan. Just so rewarding to see him drive the tractor with a big smile on his face. That was my favorite pard of the video. Just precious. He is going to grow up to be hard working and wonderful man just like Ash and Terry.
Best. Episode. Ever! Well, IMHO as a retired landscape contractor and designer. I really love the formal, symmetrical gardens with the modern cultivar accents. Seeing the plans and listening to Shane explain everything, the gardens are going to be epic!!
So much happening now, the garden , the kitchen, the bedroom on the second floor, love it, you guys don't seem to ever stop, Hope everything comes together nicely for you xxx
So cute to see Lord Patrick sorting out the edges. And fun to see Jonathan on the tractor. I learned tractor first on the farm growing up. I look forward to the garden planting. 🌺
I so enjoyed watching Jonathan drive the tractor. His little head was bouncing around. He was so pleased with himself. And then, of course, there was adorable Patrick out there trying to help with the digging. Terry, Ash, and Tracy, I know you all will do a fabulous job on this garden. How can you miss when he’s going to colorcode everything for you.😁😁😁
Wow, that was absolutely fantastic! The ideas that were presented will no doubt look fantastic and I can't wait to see it come to life. I even managed to get some ideas for my garden! Seeing Jonathan driving the tractor and Patrick doing his digging, brought a smile to my face. Thank you for including us!
Great job everyone clearing and cleaning up the estate grounds. Johnathon was doing wonderfully driving the tractor. The garden plans are lovely and very ambitious. Enjoyed. Blessings.
The formal gardens are going to be so beautiful I can't wait to see everything in bloom. Johnathan had the biggest smile on his face driving the tractor, he is so blessed to have all of you to teach him things other kids will never learn. Hugs, Kathy 🇺🇸
Jonathan will carry such a special pride for his home because you have included him in the restorations of it all. How wonderful to watch him take on the tractor work! As excited as I am about your gardens I can only imagine how each of you feel about them.❤️🥰
There is nothing to say except what an amazing, loving ,fun family you all are. Everything you do is done thoughtfully and proper. No short cuts for you lol. Love it. Even the chickens are loving it . Well done 🤗
This has been one of the best videos. Karen and Shane seem like lovey people and I love their designs. I’m really looking forward to seeing it slowly come together. I love how Patrick and the chickens get involved in the digging! Well done and thank you
Great camera work when it came to the guy describing to us the viewers , how the garden will look pointing to the plan yet its outside the frame !!!!! !
The garden plans look gorgeous. I can imagine walking along the paths, enjoying the color, the variety of plant textures, and of course the luscious scents. 👩🏻🌾 Even clearing weeds is not a chore when you are sauntering through an area like that👍🏻
I love this vlog, it was packful, but just love how you all make clearing out an area, look so easy, like if just in those few minutes. LOL But that all of you do it with joy. But the chickens were out and do chickens not get scared of the noise or being so close to the equipment? ? for anyone who knows. But I got so excited for the new formal gardens to come. Oh my gosh, I feel like the insides of the chateau is feeling better but it's outer body or clothing her will be just beautiful. So happy for you to find some people who just are gifted in that area. Great job family. Love it.
That looks great , Patrick and the chooks are loving it too. Great experience for the wee man too . Is there anything your mam can’t do , what a woman 🐨🥰
Love the design. It is going to be beautiful gardens. From one country girl that drove a tractor, it is good to see Jonathan learning to drive one too. Y’all’s Mom can work circles around everyone. Lol l want her to volunteer in my lawn in South Mississippi. I will treat her like a queen. I will bring tea and breakfast to her bedroom in the morning. Take her to have a massage every evening. Truly makes me think of my Mom. She passed away from Breast Cancer in 2018 the third time it came back. Mom loved working in the garden and in 106 degree weather too. Enjoyed watching and making memories as a family. ❤️
I enjoyed seeing the clean up in the garden...Jonathan driving the tractor and everyone turning the dirt over....Lord Patrick in full speed digging. Stunning garden plan. Beautiful plant choices with more to come. It was fun! Thanks!
Love the plans! Can’t wait to see the garden grow! Hope you will plan to hold a garden party launch for the garden. You may be able to start a local community volunteer garden group to help maintain the grounds on a regular basis. Also hope you will consider garden lighting as part of the plans. It would be spectacular at night. Perhaps solar lighting setup.
Hi everyone, how wonderful to see Jonathan on the tractor 🚜 he’s having the time of his life 😍 Love love the plans for the formal garden ,it’s going to look amazing. keep looking around for garden Urns ⚱️ you may get a better deal, good luck 🍀 Take care lots of love 🥰💕
You are making your chateau smile! From 40 years of abandonment to formal gardens and everything else you have done, your chateau is shining. Love the plans, love formal gardens, love urns, roses, tree peonies, lavender, etc. the fragrances will bring you happiness, and the bouquets you will be able to adorn the rooms with, will be wonderful. Also, Jonathan’s smile while driving the tractor is priceless. xx
The garden plan looks terrific. It appears period appropriate in design. yet, there is still something that is cutting edge with some of the shrubs selected. That is very clever! I can only imagine how intriguing it will be to stroll through it. Again, you guys should get some official French recognition for the careful restoration that you are curating. You have the most keen awareness of the history of this property. You could make a documentary series on this whole process. Honestly, the property is having an awakening like sleeping beauty or Snow White awakening from a long sleep.
Bravo! So exciting to see this formal garden. The framework being laid so the planting and paths with it all coming together. It's going to be quite elegant and I'm sure with all of the plantings statuary absolutely gorgeous. This is so exciting and everyone has worked so very hard and again letting Jonathan help is wonderful but the whole adult team I must commend and take my hat off because I myself have loved gardening for years. I still do it but on a smaller scale now. Very small and house plants. Will continue to follow this journey❤
Well the chickens and Patrick had a grand time in the cleanup! Loved watching Jonathan on the tractor!❤ Incredible plan for the formal gardens..stunning layout I might add. It is going to be absolutely beautiful and I think the choices of plants, flowers and trees will be gorgeous! WELL DONE!! Excited to watch it form and grow. Just a great vlog all in all. 😊
You should get lots of lovely eggs from the chooks now with all the pickings they are getting from the turned over soil. How good is Jonathan at driving the tractor, Patrick helping...all hands on deck. The gardens sound amazing. My ears pricked up when I heard climbing roses....this is going to be a treat to follow.
How exciting, can't wait it all come together. I love the look of formal gardens and it is important that they flow easily from one section to the next. The chickens had a feast, so nonchalant with the tractor or hoe!
My heavens… how exciting … can hardly wait! Seeing Jonathan’s huge smile while driving the tractor was lovely. It reminded me of my 2 sons when they were his age…they learned to drive while using the small tractor we had. Jonathan is such a responsible lad!! …thank you for sharing your plans …you both are incredibly talented.
WOW! This project gets better every month, it is going to be just so beautiful and an absolute gem! What vision, so loving this old and forgotten property seeing a new life!
I just love seeing your ideas...my husband and I would have loved to do something like this, but our dream home never materialized due to money problems, but watching you guys let me feel like I am doing mine. I thank you so much for sharing your ideas and your family, God bless you!
Love that boy! Happy to see him driving tractor! Reminds me if my first grandchild, he did everything with us and could work all day! Enjoy these moments ❤
Keep teaching Jonathan everything he will need to keep the Chateau for when you are too old, it creeps up quicker than you think, he is the future like you said make sure it's in capable hands, that in the long run will benefit you all
You have no idea how happy I am, as an Australian, to hear acacia given it's proper name in France!(where I live) Very few people seem to know it is the Australian floral emblem, and not native to the South of France at all! Thank you!😊
So exciting to see this, congratulations. After planting, cover all those freshly dug beds with 2-3 inches of well rotted woodchip to keep the moisture in and most importantly stop the weeds from emerging. Sets off the planting a treat.
A rototiller was one of the first things we bought when we moved to the country. That tiller was a lifesaver! Love how well Johnathan drives the tractor. Bravo!
I love how wisely you’re going about your landscaping. You make sure that what you take out is not original plus you are paying attention to what will grow in that climate. Far too many people go with what they think rather than what will work. Also, be aware that it takes time for a garden to grow into itself. It may look rather bare at first, but that’s better than being too crowded and looking overgrown after just a few years.
It's wonderful how you teach Jonathon. It looks fantastic, like a lot of hard work. My son is just like these guys, he is 38 years old, and always helping me with projects around the farm.
When I retired and discovered TH-cam 4 years ago, the first videos I watched and loved so much were British garden shows, Garden Rescue and Love Your Garden...❤❤❤That lead somehow to diy, chateaux, and to you lot😊😊😊😊 Happy days.
Hello you all. I’m excited to see the garden come forth, even it’s a year at a time. Moving forward one plant or a tree at a time is all that you can do in that moment. Kind of like we put our pants one foot at a time. No apologizes for not having everything you need or want all at one time. I’ve gardened for over 50 years and I’ve had to do what you are possibly going to do-one le at a time. I’ve made over my years five gardens. Two were ten years each in the making: one for almost 24 years and and a couple smaller (of years), in between. A couple tips: One-in plants or trees even bushes what you see above ground is it’s root system below ground. So in getting rid of a tree think of its root system and step back a step or two before you dig. Go all around, more than once for sure. Then you can start cutting up the roots to help to weakening it’s roots and you’ll get an raven larger root ball. And two:-I haven’t done this but i understood that you find a herder of goats--the love brambles. You would have to put up some kind of fencing especially in the new garden areas. Even if they eat grass they don’t pull up by the roots like horses do. Their favorite, I understand, again, is brambles. You can’t go wrong unless the fencing doesn’t keep them at bay and they nibble on things that are a no go. Three-I don’t recall what kind or type hand garden tools you use so I’ll say it anyway because with all my chateau’s I watch many of them it seems haven’t a clue. I’m not saying you have no clue, it just seems that those who don’t normally garden just purchase what they have seen others do, not knowing how to use them. Shovels and other long handled tools; flat head shovels are perfect for cleaning up snow, for spreading manure or spreading out gravel, but they are horrible for using as a tool to dig up things. The perfect tool for digging is a Spade, think of the set of spades in a deck of cards. This shovel has the ability to dig in with your foot and remove for example soil. These shovels should be sharpened when you think it’s dull and digging in as you would like then it’s day to say to self I think it’s time. The same for (sharping) any type hoe and hand shovels need it occasionally also, but not as often as a long handled spade. Many people end up with broken handles because it is being used incorrectly. My Grandfather has been gone since 1997 while he was coming up to his 92 birthday. He and my Uncle (his name is Uncle by most that knew him- he also is gone leaving this world passing in 2007). Didn’t mean to go there I just love them so much because they felt a father should be in a little girls life. They were my adopted by blood and love Father and Uncle. Well I learned from them starting 60 years ago. Something they both did which in term I had added this to my gardening knowledge. They had about 30 gallon buckets and mop buckets. In the buckets was a lot of sand which had pin mixed in-i have no clue what oil they used but I used mineral oil. The large had all the long handled tools in the bigger bucket an hand tools in the mop bucket. Every day they were used and when time to put everything away it was determined as to them needing a new edge on them, if yes they were edged with a large rasp (file).then put into the proper bucket, after it was rinsed off getting rid of any dirt/soil, then they were put in deeply to keep room for the others. Hoe type tools were put in first because they needed the horizontal space the tool ends. My Uncle and Grandfather never had ugly tools because of the rinsed, possibly sharpened and the oiled sand finished what little bit of soil was on and the sand/oil kept them from rusting. Thus they always looked new. I am ever grateful for them teaching the In’s and out’s of gardening. Now I pass things on so their teaching doesn’t come to a stand still and become “dull”. lol You would not be bothering me if you needed help from around the world . I have in the past messaged you through FB about my seeing the gift you received a mostly beautiful red needle work hanging which needed to truly make into a wall hanging. I understand that Georgia, USA is a far off way to send it to me to fix it for the fact you don’t know me or the possibility of it getting lost. That would be terrible! if I remember correctly and wanting to bless you with my sewing on it to restore it to its natural use. So now I’m saying I’d love to make into a wall hanging. If that is still a no, then use this Granny and pick her brain. By the way your cat is absolutely beautiful, I too have a cat. She is about 2 1/2 years and is a Tortie which is a cat who has two kinds fur black and gold, Tortie comes from tortoise coloring. As a kind of rule their faces have at their bridge of the nose, and split down the middle of the bridge, one side black the other side is gold. If I could have another cat I would get one to her/his coloring. What a face! Lovely. So back to my helping you all, please message me for a PM via FB. I’ll give you part of my email address because don’t want it out there for any and all people. I don’t remember when it was when that man came and gifted you all with what I remember as the wall hanging, lots of frames some with and without art. Perhaps a chandelier? So I messaged you during that time. Part of email is: sewing . . . 6@ . . . . . . . . . I’d love to hear from any of you to encourage and help. Why??? Because since 2006 my back became so painful I could not work any more. My children are away in three states. One is in Georgia with my only daughter son in law, grandchildren, three of them. They are 16, 18, and 21. The two oldest are KSU. The oldest is finishing his 2nd year and the almost 18, started college at age 16. She is majoring in Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences//fond ask me what that is. Because she is a Brainack (sp???) she is going to go fad. Two more children and I’m done-youngest son (40) is in the state of Texas, the oldest son (43) and in South Dakota. I’m bored and pretty much can’t go anywhere! I’m so sorry this is so long. Most of the time after writing emails I delete all but the first couple sentences. I wish I could fly to France and do that work program -which I can’t think of it! Is it WorkAway??? Every house needs a seamstress around until windows a covered and cushions/pillows are made. Best of it all, for you all Katherine Yes I left this big one for you. Go ahead and think I’m crazy B and then think no she’s not crazy she desires conversation even if it’s in a message, email, online chat etc.etc.etc!. I love how you are with Mom, looking after her and desiring her input, when she is one on one she seems most relaxed-and even funnier. Bye
Oh Jonathan driving the tractor 🚜 reminds me of my Grandpa teaching me how to drive when my feet barely touched the pedals. An old Massey-Ferguson. What fun memories. Jonathan is blessed to be surrounded by such love. 😊. I love the symmetry of your garden plans.
As a landscaper myself, I can't wait to see it happening. Gardens are not just a frame - they give personality to the outside of any building, and deeply influence the first impression and how you feel about it.

I love when the chickens come out looking for fresh, tasty morsels every time the ground is turned over. 🥰🐔🐔🐓🪲🪳🦗🕷🪱
Terry gets excited by chandeliers and furnishings, Ash gets excited with trees and gardens, and Tracy & Patrick just love to dig! 😆❤️

Thank you ☺️
Love seeing the relationship between Jonathan and Ash & Terry. Truly heart-warming.
Which one is Jonathons dad?
@@beverleyholmes9792 That’s Terry’s nephew.

Do we know why he’s being brought up by his grandparents?
Who said he was?

I still cannot believe that let "Lord Patrick" dig up his own holes. Unbelievable🤣.

Your gardens will be stunning and you are always so gracious to those who help you. You are both gentlemen- just what a chateau needs!

He’s done brilliantly learning how to drive it! 😊
Purple roses-my favorite. Hydrangeas-gorgeous.
Lord Patrick seems to be having the most fun.😊💗🇨🇦🐉👩🏼⚖️
Think Patrick could be a truffle hunter/digger ! Jonathan is learning lots of new skills too 😊
This has been one of the best videos. Karen and Shane seem like lovey people and I love their designs. I’m really looking forward to seeing it slowly come together. I love how Patrick and the chickens get involved in the digging! Well done and thank you
I also think this was a brilliant video Chris 👍👍👍
Making a lot of chickens happy with that tilling!😄
We LOVE the way you all work together through problems, challenges & successes!
God Bless your fervent efforts! ❤️🙏

Thanks Jo! It will be amazing!
The garden plan is stunning!!! Can’t wait to see it as it comes together. 🌱
Thank you ☺️
How exciting, can't wait it all come together. I love the look of formal gardens and it is important that they flow easily from one section to the next. The chickens had a feast, so nonchalant with the tractor or hoe!
Happy people and happy chickens. What a joyful life ✅♥️✅♥️✅♥️
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Nice to have friends who are garden experts...It's getting so exciting - can't wait to see full bloom!
Thank you ☺️
Oh, I see the chickens are already there! Perfect!
I Am sure this Formal Garden well be breathtaking Beautiful!
Can't wait to see this formal garden
WOW! This project gets better every month, it is going to be just so beautiful and an absolute gem! What vision, so loving this old and forgotten property seeing a new life!
Animals loves the freshly turned earth. Johnathan reminded me of my kids when we let them drive our tractors.
He loves it bless him 🥰
Even the tractor has a great vintage feel to it lol
I just love seeing your ideas...my husband and I would have loved to do something like this, but our dream home never materialized due to money problems, but watching you guys let me feel like I am doing mine. I thank you so much for sharing your ideas and your family, God bless you!
Love that boy! Happy to see him driving tractor! Reminds me if my first grandchild, he did everything with us and could work all day! Enjoy these moments ❤
The gardens will be really charming. This place will be so cool.
Now that’s a garden I’d love to walk through, different sections, like walking into different rooms. Beautiful 💋👏❣️
That is the idea 😍😍🥰
Bravo!
It’s been ours too Maggie! 😊
Thank you so much ☺️
Great work, Johnathon you handled that tractor very professionally. What an asset to the team you are.
Thank you ☺️
It's wonderful how you teach Jonathon. It looks fantastic, like a lot of hard work. My son is just like these guys, he is 38 years old, and always helping me with projects around the farm.
Wonderfull life skills you are teaching Jonathan
When I retired and discovered TH-cam 4 years ago, the first videos I watched and loved so much were British garden shows, Garden Rescue and Love Your Garden...❤❤❤That lead somehow to diy, chateaux, and to you lot😊😊😊😊 Happy days.
Thanks Kate
Wonderful collection of plants and wait until you see your Jasmine in Autumn it’s breathtaking with autumnal colours of deep burgundy & purple 🥰
So awesome to see Jonathan out there driving the tractor!! High five Jonathan good job!! Looks great everybody!!❤
Thank you ☺️
The chickens are loving this😊
😂😂🥰🥰
Hello you all. I’m excited to see the garden come forth, even it’s a year at a time. Moving forward one plant or a tree at a time is all that you can do in that moment. Kind of like we put our pants one foot at a time.
No apologizes for not having everything you need or want all at one time.
I’ve gardened for over 50 years and I’ve had to do what you are possibly going to do-one le at a time. I’ve made over my years five gardens. Two were ten years each in the making: one for almost 24 years and and a couple smaller (of years), in between.
A couple tips:
One-in plants or trees even bushes what you see above ground is it’s root system below ground.
Now I pass things on so their teaching doesn’t come to a stand still and become “dull”. lol
You would not be bothering me if you needed help from around the world .
Best of it all, for you all
Katherine
Yes I left this big one for you.
Go ahead and think I’m crazy B and then think no she’s not crazy she desires conversation even if it’s in a message, email, online chat etc.etc.etc!.
I love how you are with Mom, looking after her and desiring her input, when she is one on one she seems most relaxed-and even funnier.
Bye
Thank you so so much for you beautiful message, it will help us. So sorry to hear about your back problems 😞 ❤️❤️
Wow I've watched Jonathan grow into a young man not afraid to give anything a go as long as you are there showing him the way.❤
He’s becoming an amazing young man! 😊
I think you should have my guest room ready for when I come and visit the finished garden 😁💕
☺
Oh Jonathan driving the tractor 🚜 reminds me of my Grandpa teaching me how to drive when my feet barely touched the pedals. An old Massey-Ferguson. What fun memories. Jonathan is blessed to be surrounded by such love. 😊. I love the symmetry of your garden plans.
Thank you ☺️
I can't wait to see it come to completion. It will be so beautiful! Love the chickens helping with the bugs!
