How did you figure out what Voltage and Amperage to order the Replacement SCR that you used? The new part shows to be a TYN416 which is a 400 Volt 16 Amp SCR and the Power Supply is a 26 Amp Supply.

The transformer and that you go the rectifiers. You might want to check those replace the rectifiers. Also, it can be the capacitors that controls the fan. Don't know if that one has a fan. Please let me know. Gunny, USMC

What was the SCR Part Number and the Amperage Rating - was it the same part number as the one you were replacing?

    Did you replace the rectifier?

The SCR is part of the overvoltage protection.

You could put your 8 Ohm Resistor in line with your Digital Meter in 10 or 20 Amp setting which ever your meter has and read your Amperage on it to Compare. 16 Volts divided by 8 Ohm equals 2 Amps so 15 Volts should be pretty close to 2 Amps.

Buy a group 27 or 31 boat battery for CB power and charge it when you finish talking . NO noise and simple, nothing to repair and cheaper too. Headache solved. Trash the Pyramid.
