Love this song so much, this song is actually one of my fav faye song. Its true that everyone has unspoken secrets and love, but life isnt perfect, we may end up with the wrong person, but our feelings are always true. This song is almost religious.love it.
王菲 is no doubt one of the best vocalists in our country, and also one the best on earth ever. I especially like her live performances, which can present her outstanding skills of singing in a more realistic way. This is by no means worth the 5 brilliant stars.

This is one of my favorite album of Faye ...just love everything about this song from it Melodies , arrangement and lyrics .. grown up with her music ... Faye will always be my inspiration my hero ... The true diva .
every time I got broken in a relationship she took me out of that sad place and even though I do not understand a WORd - but I do like Jet Li she took me out and made me overcome my sorrow with her voice
Lovely song. It's very relaxing and chill; it's getting my through my studying! As for the video, I love the mix of simplicity and discrete/powerful "images". It's all so very wonderful! Thank you for sharing.
now again i am here where I was 4 years ago broken and broken for nothing and this song just makes me dye a little more and cry with big tears and her voice makes me cry inside and ask myself why when I give all I get burnt and when I give crumbs they all eat it and say that it was god who gave them and my heat is so empty and suffering always for the wrong guys
i like your comment, good points... though my first impression is that the stuff that she gave "him" is more superficial than the stuff that she gave "you". So it seemed to me at the time that "you" came before "him", and she is saying she gave "you" all the stuff from the heart, but nothing happened. He was the one that ended up with all the action, but heart is already gone. Now nothing's left. IF there's something left, as you said, let it go "such that there would be no sorrow".
Aside from Teresa Teng, Faye Wong is the greatest Chinese singer to last for such a long time. Then again, China needs her cuz they don't really have any other great female artists who could sing live so damn well.
This is late but the lyrics are about her "giving" different things to two people, in a way it seems like she's in love with one person but settles for another. For example, one line is "I gave you the plot and gave him the ending.'" Another part of the song is her talking about trying to wave away hurt and longing, hoping they scatter to the wind or disappear in other equally poetic ways. It's a beautiful song, but so melancholic and bittersweet.
I actually the remembrance of this relationship with all the color and glory is a little sweet, even if it pains her at the same time. But I guess that's putting a little personal interpretation to it perhaps? I just believe the pretty things she describes, though separated and broken, brings a certain thing to mind.
Sure, without our personal interpretation it will not be our own. That is the magic of lyrics, each feel differently according to one's experience. When it is too painful to remember, I rather forget. But it is impossible. At the end, is there sweetness? At first it is unanswered, then a definite "maybe".
@MrHeavySilence2 is it just me, or does anyone else feel that she actually likes the guy she's talking to more (her heart is w/ him) but she's committed to the other guy (he has the body)... like she might have married "him" while still thinking of "you".. sad =( but in the end, is slightly encouraging. After first chorus, she just keeps saying "if i have sadness then let wind blow it away. If i have happiness..." then she trails off. At the end though, she concedes "maybe". that's good start =D
This is a very beautiful song, heart wretching.. If you do not understand what it's all about and comment that it's lousy.. hmmm.. guess you need to reflect your understanding of the lyrics..
Faye Wong can sing the best in Alternative style, see how marvelous she can sing in Mandarin 4 tones lyrics, imagine how powerful she is in Cantonese 9 tones lyrics during her Cantonese era..
@GreenCurtains10 If you would like to know, she's singing as the girl who has lost her partner to another girl. And she's giving away all her possessions to her former partner and the other girl. And within the chorus, she's saying it's favorable to give everything away to them without leaving anything behind. Therefore, nothing left to worry about. Furthermore, if there is still some pain left, allow the wind to sweep it away. And if she still has happiness... maybe.
@gladrock The whole album overall is quite good, one of those CDs where you can listen to pretty much the whole thing without skipping any tracks. I was pleasantly surprised given some of her other CDs I'd listened to, where there were a few really good songs hidden between a lot of filler.
I agree. This song is one of her best, but Faye may not be recording again for a long time, if ever. My note was to "beardpapa" who thinks there are no other worthy female Chinese singers besides Teresa and Faye. I listen to a lot of Chinese singers besides Faye, and encourage others to seek out new young artists and support them. Here are three new(er) groups from China that you may also like: Nand Gate - 与非门, Crystalake - 水晶湖乐队, Water & Wood - 水木年华. Check 'em out!
the "popular belief" was that she's talkign about her ex-husband (dou wei) and ex-bf (nicholas tse) it seems that the song is about the fact that she's perplexed about why it is possible for her to "split" her love between 2 pp...with equal force but if that's the case...love would be meaningless...that's why she "prefers that nothing is left, such that there would be no sorrows"
Ive been looking for this song everywhere!!! can anyone send it to me?? i even bought a faye wong compilation album when i was in hong kong last and IT WASNT ON THERE!!!!
You dont get music and singer like this anymore. This mv is 20 yrs ago still fresh for 2024.
Faye Wong is the best Chinese singer ever -3
Love this song so much, this song is actually one of my fav faye song.
Its true that everyone has unspoken secrets and love, but life isnt perfect, we may end up with the wrong person, but our feelings are always true.
This song is almost religious.love it.
Faye is a genius. Beautiful music and meaningful lyrics and of course beautiful voice. She is the one and the only one.
I'll never get tired of loving this song and video. Hearing it instantly transports me back to 2007 or so. Life was so different
You understand. 2006 for me.
王菲 is no doubt one of the best vocalists in our country, and also one the best on earth ever. I especially like her live performances, which can present her outstanding skills of singing in a more realistic way. This is by no means worth the 5 brilliant stars.
A beautiful song, melodic, calm, but so sad at the same time.
Have you listened to "Shinjitsu no Uta". Do as Infinity are Japanese but make some pretty nice songs too.
Thank you so much for the recommendation, I enjoyed the song a lot. And for sure I will check more songs from Do As Infinity :)
Both the lyrics and the melody are beautiful.
She is a perfect woman with voice from heaven.
This is one of the coolest song i love from faye...

Oh this song

Wowies Faye Wong

this is such a good song. And I have no idea what she is singing, but the song/ clip is just AMAZING

Great lyrics. It is bitter but not sweet. It is just sad and helpless. Yet it is real.
I actually the remembrance of this relationship with all the color and glory is a little sweet, even if it pains her at the same time. Chiu Lau There's a sort of beauty to the pain of loss, strange isn't it? That we can smile and cry at the same time.
that's my favo from Faye Wong *-*

hahahhha,not exactly.
Its about loving someone but actually giving that sinful love to some1 she doesnt love.

Well, I have heard of all the above singers, and Faye Wong beats them hands down.
las canciones de esta mujer me relajan mucho.
me encanta¡¡
@Gaarlee I believe it's from her 2003 album "To Love."
Ich auch mag!
the "popular belief" was that she's talkign about her ex-husband (dou wei) and ex-bf (nicholas tse)
it seems that the song is about the fact that she's perplexed about why it is possible for her to "split" her love between 2 pp...with equal force

I still love her songs. Faye Wong FTW. Shame I became a fan of hers after she sang the theme song for FFVIII
@gladrock is very beautiful.....this song from JiangAi.
and lyric as well!
For some reason this MV reminds me of the RING video. Must be the coloring, erratic movements, and Faye's appearance.
I don't understand mandarin but I love this song. I can't find it on iTunes(first world problem)
I don't really know if it's on iTunes but it's on Spotify. Search 不留 instead. It's in her album released in 2001
I don't think this one is on Spotify. Most of her albums aren't.
@@hexyko4850 I know this post is from two years ago but.. she is on spotify under Faye Wong :)
@@hexyko4850 most of her albums are actually available on Spotify! If you wanna listen to this song search “不留 王菲”❤❤
