4:05 wrap the battery cables up in plastic and cable tie them away to prevent shorting out... and the fgx does have the little hole to hold the side plate up....
Yes wrap the battery cables. the positive boot is a great insulation just wrap the boot and you can tuck them alone the fuse box running down repeat electrical tape both positive and negative battery terminals.
You can also remove (cut) the positive terminal off and throw it away. If you ever revert back, just buy a terminal that takes multiple cables. You then need to buy one terminal end to for the red wire from alternator to the terminal on the fusebox. Negative terminal from fuse box can be attached to the body - you can never have too many earths....
Good to see you made a point of rerunning the Parker loom so not be crushed by the airbox cover 😎👌🏻 this is something I see a lot of people neglect to do, also it's good to see Antz kits now have the rubber beading around the edge of the hole to stop the horrid squeaking noise 😏🤙🏼
That's exactly what I have been wanting for a while. So I checked out the website you linked saw they had afterpay and Presto I can look forward to flutter soon...
@@fgmods 1 hour install - 1 1/2 - 2 hour install if the first time.................almost 5 FUCKING hours and all basically spent on the intake piping and stock turbo to intercooler piping . BUT it sounds amazing I can't express with words how much of a change it made.
Yep forgot to show this in the vid. It's all covered in the instructions on the website I mentioned though, people should be checking those before doing this themselves.
Going to replace the engine in my SX Territory eventually. I'll be looking to fit the turbo-Barra and 6-speed auto to my old girl. I bet she'll love the transplant when she's done. I'll have this kit along to get it fitted when the engine goes in...
When I got this kit i had a mechanic/fabricator mate install it for me, he struggled with the intercooler pipe too and just said fuck it and welded up a custom pipe..
Dying to get this done to my stock FG2 XR6 T... But something deep down tells me it would need a tune even after this. Surely the ECU isn't that adjustable?
i found ANTZ to be fairly disorganised for my liking. Took over two weeks to get my kit out to me. It should not take that long from VIC to ACT, no tracking number and two emails chasing it up. Also my kit contained no bungs for the bov blockoff mod, no instructions and some no name pod filter in a blank white box. All that aside I am happy enough with the product. They just need to up their game a bit as the products dont present anything like a Process West kit for example. A set of instructions and sticker or two goes a long way in product presentation.
If you haven't found an answer since then, the answer is yes. Considering right now an FG xr6 ranges from 5k to 13k, and a turbo version is 20k+. Just get some advice from a performance shop and be aware of any limitations. Get all the correct supporting mods and a good tune, it'll be fine.
I have a Mackielec kit, with antz intercooler piping kit and 0-100 you don't notice it, but I reckon 140-230k definitely notice it. The turbo just screams now, especially on overboost. But just pulls hard up to 190-200 then a bit quicker than stock to 230

I've always wondered why Ford ran them over the upper radiator mount like that.
It's just as easy to get to if it's underneath.
My batteries in the boot so there's plenty of room for a Turbosmart supersonic twin trumpet blow off valve👀😁
It is actually a great idea, it's the best place to put them when you actually have hp in the falcs

Nice dude, the sound is awesome, you'll love it

@@vtssdmasta lol 5 hours. I had trouble getting the hoses on and the airbox down properly and probably took 2 hours.
the positive terminal on the battery should be inboard.
I got the exact same kit and it's a game changer
Please wrap the old terminals so ya lower the risk of shorting every thing out
Yep forgot to show this in the vid.

That they should but sadly some ppl don’t

Great mods but I think I’ll just keep my fg2 xr6t 100% completely stock
would you need a tune after changing the intake or would you just leave it?
Does sound nicer,🤙 waiting for my tuner with all the footage pics vids etc so I can put up my build
When I got this kit i had a mechanic/fabricator mate install it for me, he struggled with the intercooler pipe too and just said fuck it and welded up a custom pipe..
I’ve got a stock one in Sydney if u need anything done down here 😏😏
Mines stock as a rock but don’t live in brissy...won’t be stock much longer though

I have a stock 2011 g6eturbo on the Gold Coast lol

If you live in the Brisbane area shoot me a message on facebook or insta
@@fgmods I have a stock Xr50 turbo Ute in victoria 100kms :)
What kit did you use
with the old battery terminals can i completely remove them or do they need to be left in the car

No tuning needed.
Thanks guy. Can U reconnect the BOV if necessary with this kit?
mine is still stock and this mod is the first mod i am going to do to mine.does it need a tune after this mod is done?
vllnba hektikel no need for a tune after it’s done, the FG has sensors that deal with the changed air temp etc
FGmods cheers buddy thank you

I have it stock yet
Is it worth turboing a stock fg
We're going to find out soon! Currently working on a series where we will turbo the FG ;)

Why would Ford miss the obvious..?
want to take my car and do it all up ahaha
Was the fg auto?
how does the battery tray bolt up like were to?
self tappers
hows the bov blockoff fit
Just caps off the opening where the pipe would go and held on with a tie like any pipe would be
I wonder how many Kw you pick up just from this mod. For sure there must be some increase
Would have loved to have a dyno available to test it out

El Bantos Bros did you get it tuned after the intake and inter cooler????????
Nothing smart about swaping air filter to the hot side of the engine lol
I don’t want my XR6T sounding like that
Then put factory bov back on
I have one lol
