I saw in a documentary about Sabotage a comment by Mano Brown saying that he had a notebook with several verses and verses of various songs that he was writing in a random order he recorded reading the times and kept jumping and turning pages to see the lyrics
Salve Sabotage, patrimônio do rap nacional!!!
Perfeito 👍
First of all I really liked the way you understand rap culture, and how respectful you were with an artist so important to our scene, just to make it clear, He didn't past away, he was killed with 4 shots in the head and one in the chest, even today the police have not solved the case. He left 3 children and a wife behind, it is a scar in Brazilian rap that will never close! I hope you enjoy your journey in our music, it's a long way ahead! a masterpiece that will give you an idea of what our society is like is the song Facção Central - Eu não pedi pra nascer. I didn't find any english translation of this song on youtube, but I'll send it on your instagram direct so you can follow if you decide to listen to it! Much success and may God light your way! The guys translating the lyrics for you is doing an amazing job, even some parts that are tricky he manages to get it very well with it. shout out to the dude
It’s actually very difficult to translate Sabotage’s lyrics. He was a genius creating phrases, using different words. Not only slangs but ways of expression! Nice to see you enjoying!!
That sogn became somethin like a motto for the Brazilian Rap, every rapper who really respect the been a MC has that "Rap é Compromisso", as literal, rap is commitment, you take this not only to make money and be an artist, but to have a better life and make the life for the everybody aroud you better. Thats because sabotage was a former drug dealer, the rap is the cause why he stoped with this, a story similar to 50cent to be honest. I think you will really gonna freakout with the flow of Mun-Ra Sabotage as well. Love your channel dude, its awesome see someone outside from here listening with that much respect our artists.
Sabota used to listen to old hip hop and without knowing english he mumbled over the bars of wu tang, N.W.A trying to fit portuguese words that sounded like what the rappers were singing. Thats why some flows seems like the legends of hip hop. Much love from Brazil dude.

(You're right. Sabotage was way ahead of his time! his technique and flow are different still today.)
You said that you would like to see how old school rapers would fare in the current and more modern scene. Here in Brazil, we have a beautiful example of this: "Edi Rock". Member of the "Racionais MCs", which was the main group responsible for the popularization of RAP here from the 90's and is still considered the main rap group in the history of our country. In my opinion, he masterfully reinvented himself, as he managed to make a modern sound, without losing what he as an artist has in the traditional. With the album: "Against us nobody will be". The song that most impressed me on this album was: "That's My Way", I thought it was amazing how he managed to maintain that more traditional flow but at the same time, put on a chorus with such a contemporary footprint. I liked using this song as an example, because I know you know. Congratulations on this work that promotes this cultural exchange. That's really good! God keep blessing your life!
Sabotage was a beast. This quote "o rap é compromisso" is often used untill today. You need to react to Mun Ra, where his flow reached the maximun level.
Man, u were wondering if he could flow in modern beats. In 2016 the Instituto that produced him in life took some unused records of his voice and produced a posthumous album, trap-ish style. You definitely want to check this out, it is called Sabotage, 2016. Shout out to the work youve been doing, its always good to see brazilian artists being recognized outside Brazil. Thanks and Rap é compromisso
There is an album released in 2016 called a posthumous album with songs he recorded before he died. This album was produced very good bites very biting. It is amazing how Sabotage was already advanced in his time.
When you say that Sabotage had a flow that would dominate the scene today, in the beats of contemporary music, you are totally right. Daniel Ganjaman, a producer who worked with Sabotage in his lifetime and also produced much of what we have of best in Brazilian Hip Hop, used some old Sabotage recordings never published, invited other producers and made a posthumous Sabotage album with beats from different eras rap, including trap. I really recommend listening to "Sabotage" 2016, you already heard one of the tracks, "Canão foi tão bom" that's actually a remix.
Hey, man! Brooklin it's a neighborhood from São Paulo city, real poor and he lived there! I'm from Brazil, it was sad when he gone... I'm a fan of yours, keep growing man! '' can't find peace on a streets till a nigga got a piece'' Tupac
the femele voice on the begginin is from Negra Li, she sang on other rap group called RZO and also in solo carreer, she's got a kind of laureen hill style and a beautiful voice you must listen.
I'd say that, he has to listen to Negra Li and RZO. Thanks for sharing Brazilian culture for the world at times of such political shadows here, we are much bigger than this sheet gov (the one we shall not mention).
Someone is getting pretty good with portuguese, your pronunciation is nice. Whoever translates this songs are doing a very good job, it's so hard to do that without loosing the story.
Antes de tudo, um salve pro Sabota! Actually, the idea of Rap being a compromise means (or at least i know it meant for a lot of people too) that Rap and Hip Hop were alternatives for life style, a compromise that gave the chance to keep distance from crimes and a lot of illegal issues that permeate the favelas. Same with brazillian funk. Not saying that the favela folk have only the crime as life style, but it was one more chance for dudes to transform their lives into a mission of tough accusations on Big County outskirts realities, bringing attention on that, AND at the same time, it was a COMPROMISE with a second chance and a new life.
